Recipe: https://www.tastesoflizzyt.com/doubletree-chocolate-chip-cookie-recipe/ I tried the famous $250 cookie recipe, but I’ve been wanting to test the secret DoubleTree cookie recipe that they give guests at DoubleTree hotels and finally got to it last week. This article isn’t to share a new recipe, but rather to tell you my experience with making this much loved chocolate chip cookie and tell you why it works. | Julie Clark | Tastes of Lizzy T

I try to stick to a similar “palette” when combining cookies in a tin - this doesn’t mean they’re all the same flavor, it just means they work well together. Mint, for example, can overtake a tin with scent and smell, so I steer clear. Pistachio is a GREAT option to enjoy a GREEN cookie that won’t overwhelm - while standing out as a delicious and oh-so soft, sweet, and pillowy treat all on its own! You’ll need the following ingredients for this recipe: 1/2 c. (115 g) salted butter 3/4 c. (100 g) granulated sugar 1 tsp. (4.3 g) vanilla extract 1 large egg 3.4 oz Pistachio Instant Pudding Mix 1/2 tsp. (2.4 g) baking soda 1/2 tsp. (3 g) salt 1 1/4 c. (156.3 g) all purpose flour 1 c. This is my version of the Crumbl Caramel Apple Cookies that I make using only ingredients from Dollar Tree. And the elusive ingredient is two packs of this apple cider muffin mix which is currently at Dollar Tree but once it's gone it's gone. You will also need a jar of cream cheese frosting either apple chips or freeze dried apples and two bags of these Werther's Chewy caramels. To make cookies from muffin mix, you're going to mix two packs with one stick of margarine or butter and one egg. This will look dry and crumbly at first but just be patient and it will come together then cover and refrigerate this for one to two hours. While the dough chills, unwrap all of the caramel candies. Each bag comes with 10 so we are using 20 caramels total. Add two tablespoons of water and microwave this on 30 second bursts stirring well in between to make an easy caramel sauce. Set this aside to cool completely. Your dough into eight large cookies and bake at 350 degrees on a parchment lined baking sheet for 15 minutes, then let the cookies cool completely. Take the cream cheese frosting and transfer it into a bowl and then add about half of your prepared caramel. As you can see it thickens up a lot as it cools. Whip these together to make a caramel cream cheese frosting. Frost your cookies with the caramel cream cheese frosting. Top with crushed apple chips or freeze dried apples and then finish it off by drizzling the remainder of the caramel sauce on top which you might need to warm up just to make it pourable. And that is it. Now you have beautiful caramelapples that are perfect to share with your family, friends, or co-workers.
