Big Stone Chinley Churn Fine Art Print
'Big Stone' charcoal drawing. At the top of Chinley Churn in Derbyshire is a rocky outcrop, known locally as ' Big Stone'. It is a special place for many, and is carved with initials, some over 100 years old. This piece, drawn a few years back, is one of the largest I have ever done. I wanted to give a sense of how it feels to be there. Spot any familiar initials on the 2nd image? #kindersscout #peakdstrict #derbyshire #highpeak
Back Tor Farm Edale Fine Art Print
'Back Tor Farm' - charcoal landscape drawing featuring a farm house in Edale, Derbyshire. A single tree clings to the side of Back Tor in the distance, and a hang glider flies over the Mam Tor ridge. This drawing was done as a commission #edale #peakdistrict #peakdistrictnationalpark #peakdistrictart
Mountains and Moorland Landscape Art
'Little Hayfield from Lantern Pike' Charcoal and coloured pastel landscape, looking down on the High Peak, Derbyshire hamlet of Little Hayfield, with Kinder Scout and the Peak District National Park in the distance. In this piece I have tried to represent as many dwellings as possible in Little Hayfield. Clough Mill and the Lantern Pike Inn can be seen in the foreground, as well as Park Hall and the shooting cabin in the distance. #littlehayfield #highpeak #peakdistrict #village
Mountains and Moorland Landscape Art
Details from 2 of my drawings showing Peak and Northern Footpath Society sign posts. The image on the right is a detail from my new piece of work. Any guesses to where it is? Clue's on the sign! PNFS have a long proud history of providing and maintaining metal sign posts for walkers in the English countryside. 20 have survived from before WW1, a tribute to the cast iron and design skills of Rowland Mower of New Mills, High Peak, Derbyshire
Abide With Me Print

Over Chunal Print
Charcoal and coloured pastel landscape featuring Chunal, the road over the hill from Glossop to Hayfield in Derbyshire. I wanted to capture the feeling of driving over the cusp of a hill with the next valley opening up below. On one side the hairpin bend the mole catchers sign is visible, as well as the evidence of his work hanging from the fence. A flock of geese fly overhead. Do you have a favourite bit of road that makes you feel 'nearly home'? #landscapeart #pastelart #peakdistrict
Free Man On Sunday Kinder Scout Art
A panoramic landscape showing a footpath leading to Kinder Scout, the highest area in the Peak District National Park in England and the start of the Pennine Way. The title of this piece comes from the song ‘The Manchester Rambler’ by Ewan McCall which has the line ‘I may be a wage slave on Monday, but I am a free man on Sunday'. It celebrates the mass trespass of 1932. Have you got a favourite place where you have the right to roam? #fineart #landscape #peakdistrict
Cycling Artwork Windgather Rocks
The gritstone crags known as Windgather Rocks above Taxal Edge on the Derbyshire Cheshire border in the Peak District National Park. A lone rock climber has reached the summit and is looking over the valley towards the wind turbines in the distance. A cyclist approaching the brow of the hill is about to freewheel down the other side. I wanted to capture the feeling of freedom we get from being out in open country. What is your favourite place to cycle? #bicycle #peakdistrict #landscapeart
Cat and Fiddle Road Shining Tor
Coloured charcoal and pastel landscape drawing of the rocky summit of Shining Tor in the Peak District. The crag overlooks The Cat and Fiddle Inn (the second highest pub in England), and the winding A537 road of the same name. The Cheshire plain and Shutlingsloe can be seen in the far distance. Swifts fly overhead. Do you have a favourite stretch of road through the hills? And what is happening with the Cat and Fiddle pub?
Beyond Brookbottom Derbyshire Landscape Art Print
Coloured charcoal and pastel landscape drawing of Brookbottom, Derbyshire. I wanted to give the feeling of being in the country and looking out across to the city. The picture shows The Fox Inn in the hamlet of Brookbottom at the bottom of the hill. Over the dry stone wall past the grazing cows and across the valley the distant cityscape of Manchester. Beyond the mast on Winter Hill and Fiddlers Ferry Power Station in Liverpool. #pasteldrawing #charcoaldrawing #landscapeart
