Did you know a tight or undertrained chest can create back pain when the back is overused and stretched. Over time this pulls the shoulders forward and contributes to poor posture - and the cycle of pain continues with under used, over used, and poor posture😳 So the chest matters too! Not everyone can do a push-up with good form! If you’re recently postpartum or have Diastasis Recti it can make it more complicated due to a weaker core, but it doesn’t mean skip chest! In my Make Fit Simple app I weave in all muscle groups every week and have full plans with no pushups, but still very challenging workouts to meet everyone’s needs. So keeping the chest stretched and strong can actually help your posture, and help prevent some forms of pain as it is helps create balance! Yet many females stick to working their abs and their legs only 🤦🏼‍♀️ They don’t realize that optimal functionality includes every muscle group💃🏼❤️ So, give these chest exercises a run! No push-ups included! And don’t forget to stretch your chest as well! It’s a little bit better because you’ll have more give, but if not you can do them on the floor, couch or a bed because you’ll have a little more to give there as well. ✅ You are exhaling, lifting the pelvic floor (imagine sucking a straw up your lady region) and imagine drawing your Transverse Abdominals in, scooping your belly in and up as you push the weight up. This helps brace the core so you can lift like. You will inhale & relax your Pelvic Floor as you come back to neutral. ✅ Slow and controlled is your friend.
