If you’ve been itching for a living wall but want something quick and interchangeable, add this to the list of fun house projects to work on this weekend. To make this, I just used some 6” pot holders from Home Depot and a scrap piece of 3/4” plywood that I cut a basic arch in. For a link to the pot holders, comment PLANT WALL below! 1.5M views · 24K reactions | Years ago I decided on a white, polar white, for all my trim in my house! I slowly started updating and painting all the trim in our house and I got it all done! Fast forward till now and I can’t keep up with the white! We live in a homestead, there’s lots of animals, this equals dust. I have air purifiers all over but they only can get to so much. Being pregnant 2.5 out of that last 4 years didn’t help me keep up either. My dirty trim has been bugging me for a while. A little bit ago I switched out our upstairs trim from white to a tan and have been loving it. Now yes we still have dust, but if it takes me an extra week or so to get to clean it, it’s ok. The dust and dirt, blend a little better and the trim has the super clean appearance longer! I also updated to a semi gloss paint. I’m a matte/flat girl all day long! It was hard to buy that “gloss” style paint but in the trim it was needed, same with the kids rooms. The gloss just makes dusting and finally cleaning a breeze. Now I’m not saying this is a fix all and my trim will magically be clean, but with 3 kids, endless animals, and not enough time to clean everything, this will definitely help out! Be sure to sand by hand!! 2️⃣ SPRAY YOUR PAINT So many beginners are intimidated when using a paint sprayer, but I promise you it is SO much easier than you think! Comment SPRAYER and I’ll send you links to a budget-friendly sprayer and a more advanced one! 3️⃣ STRAIN YOUR PAINT Whether you’re spraying or rolling, you should always strain your paint! Small chunks and bits in your paint can keep you from achieving a smooth finish. 4️⃣ USE A HIGH-QUALITY PAINT Do not expect a smooth finish if you choose a low-quality paint for your project. My favorite paint is @sherwinwilliams Emerald Urethane Trim Enamel. It’s low VOC, water-based, and cleans up really easily. It also self-levels and is extremely durable! 5️⃣ TOP COAT HACK When applying your top coat (I love @minwaxusa Polycrylic), mix a little bit of your paint into your poly. This helps hide imperfections and creates a gorgeous, smooth finish. 6️⃣ CURE TIME Did you know most paints take at least two weeks to fully cure?
