Mark Ryden's work always has a very hazy, dreamy aesthetic. His work primarily features pallid young girls with grotesque features within the portrait. I like his refined colour palette of mainly pastel colours which are used in such a way that makes the painting feel dull and gloomy. The figures always have puffy eyes and sad features which make them morbidly alluring. There is almost always a palette of fleshy pinks used, and is used in such a way that there is extreme depth in the colours...
