A dress worn by the Shakespearean actress Ellen Terry in an 1888 production of ‘Macbeth’. The dress, which Terry wore in her role as Lady Macbeth at the Lyceum Theatre in London, is adorned with 1000 iridescent wing cases from jewel beetles. The beetles naturally shed these cases as part of their life cycle.
