For the prawn curry, let's make the masala first. Here I have half a coconut, fresh coconut that we have grated, ten bedgi chillies. So I am going to take about 10 to 12 of bedgi chillies, three to four green chillies as well. Half a teaspoon of turmeric powder and a table spoon of raw rice. Our masala is ready. So I am going to heat three table spoons of coconut oil. Once the oil is hot let's add one inch of finely chopped ginger and to that we are going to add one medium onion finely chopped. Here I have half KG of shelled and deveined prawns. We are going to add a few pieces of raw mango. If raw mango is not easily available you can add cocaine say about four to five pieces or you can add a half a lemon size of tamarind while you are grinding the masala. Now let's add the masala. And let's add a litre of water to this. Let's add some salt to this. You can add water depending on how much thick or thin you want your curry. The curry is boiling. The prawns have curled and change their colour. Keep this aside and head on to the next recipe. So the next recipe we are doing is a cabbage of curry. Two table spoons of coconut oil, a teaspoon of urad dal to this. We are going to add a teaspoon of mustard seeds. Four green chillies that I have slit here, a few curry leaves, quarter teaspoon of turmeric powder and about three fourth KG of cabbage that I have chopped finely. Let's add some salt to this. Let's cover this and cook it on a low flame for five to 6 minutes, stirring it occasionally. We are going to garnish it with half a cup of freshly grated coconut. Dal which we call dari toy. One cup of tur dal. Let's add this. We are going to add one inch of finely chopped ginger, four to five slit green chillies. Now I'm going to add a cup of water to this. We going to add salt to taste. Cover this and wait for the dal to boil. The dal is boiling and now we have to give it a tarka. Two table spoons of coconut oil. I am going to add a pinch of hing, a teaspoon of mustard seeds, dry red chillies which I have broken, some curry leaves, shut the flame and we lace the dal with this tadka. Let's cover this. The last recipe for this Thali is another of my favourite which is called fodi, suji, rabao semolina to which I am going to add two teaspoons of chilli powder because I like my four D to be a little spicy. Quarter teaspoon of turmeric powder and some salt to taste. Mix this. The potatoes have sliced a little thinner than one centimeter. Coat the potatoes with this masala and place it on the pan. Now the cauliflower florets over here. I have just sliced them into half. So I've kept the florets nice and big. We'll coat these as well. Let's drizzle some coconut oil around these vegetables. Let's cover this and cook it on a low flame. Let's flip the so the food for a simple karwari or a Karnataka Thali is ready. Now let us just serve it on a banana leaf to give it a lovely authentic look.
