Work Text:
Mark was at the party, celebrating Nora's birth when he discreetly left the Westallen's loft without saying goodbye to anyone, which was kind of suspicious. And for sure, Mark left for a specific reason, and that was not because he wasn't good with newborns : he was actually heading towards a newborn, but not baby Nora. The ex-bartender was walking towards Star Labs and when he came inside the building, he went directly to the pipeline-level and where his girlfriend was waiting for him.
"I've missed you so much." He kissed her without waiting a second.
"I was dead for several months and you miss me even when we're apart for a few hours?" The Snowflake answered after the magical kiss, she never got disappointed by any of them.
"How ironic." He laughed even though he was still feeling that it wasn't normal that she was here, alive, standing up, talking to him, kissing him. "So? Are we ready? Should we text Caitlin so she joins us? I'm sure she's chomping at the bit to leave this dumb party--"
"You don't like celebrating newborns? Arf... me who thought that we could have drunk a good cocktail to celebrate my comeback..." Frost ironically cut her boyfriend short.
"Ah-ah-ah. Don't get me wrong. I'll make you the best Crème-de-noyau cocktail when we will be...there? Where are we going exactly?"
"I've found the perfect Earth for us, thanks god that we know that the multiverse is still real." She said with relief, glad to leave this universe. "Number 310, similar to this one so we won't get too lost but better. Lower crime rate because the money system is different, I didn't understand everything, anyway, and plenty of other pros. The breach is ready and I don't wanna wait any longer so we're going first to see if it's really good and then we'll bring Caitlin. I trust her, she's keeping the secret very well, isn't she?"
"Hell yeah, she's acting like nothing's happening."
"I know she wanna say goodbye to the team, and I would have wanted to but-- they wouldn't understand." The ice meta was pretty upset about leaving like a thief in the night, but especially that Caitlin had to do the same.
"Well... I don't wanna change the plans at the last minute but ya know... The Team seemed really happy to have Caitlin back."
"That's why they had totally moved on her and replaced her with Khione? You told me that they even invited her to their family dinners...Caitlin and I never got that, we were only coworkers, maybe my death opened their eyes. Maybe they accepted Khione as a sort of payback because they had not considered us as real friends. Anyway, just theories, I don't know what happened exactly." In any case, she didn't appreciate what she had heard of the story, Barry treating her sister like nothing.
"If that can make you feel any better, Barry apologized for what he did, letting Caitlin down and she accepted it." He could see when Frost was upset, not looking at him directly. "Now we can move on, we'll never see them again and that's for the better. Wait--what if we meet our doppelgangers out there?"
"I've checked and there's none of our doppelgangers living on that Earth right now, we'll just have to fit in."
"Easy peasy when we think about Khione who literally did the hardest part of the work by bringing you back to life. I'll never thank her enough for that gift, even if I did before she ascended." Mark was just beyond grateful, feeling that he didn't deserve that happy-ending.
"Talking about that..." She had her cute smirk on her face. "I met her earlier."
"No way?! Is she here?"
"No, she-- I have no idea of what kind of powers she has but she managed to talk to me through the rain." Somehow she was hoping that the bartender wouldn't think that she's crazy.
"The rain, of course. She loved it so much. I mean, she loved all of nature, the trees, the animals but she was always saying that she was kind of connected to the rain." It showed that somehow, he wasn't a bad friend to Khione after all. "How is she doing? What did she say?"
"She said she's glad you're doing okay, but that you shouldn't drink that much alcohol though." They both laughed. "She added that she'll visit us on that new Earth. Didn't know that Gods could travel across the multiverse." Frost thought at loud, accepting the fact that she wasn't the most powerful SnowSister.
"Oh my god, I can't wait to talk to her again, to see how she's handling godly things, that new life."
"She seemed very nice, and doing fine even though it was...confusing, to talk to her like that but I guess we'll get used to it."
"Perfect. Are we going?" He was getting impatient to start his new life.
"Yep, but before.......selfie time" The white haired woman was already taking her phone and preparing the camera.
"Now???"
"Of course now, our last selfie on this Earth. We're gonna start a new life, the three of us, and Khikhi."
"Khikhi?" He asked confused as he tried to take a good pose in the pipeline.
"Khione, you fool. Come on now, big smile!"

Mark and Frost traveled to that new universe, new life. They bought together a small bar in town, Frost decorated it with her amazing paintings. Mark was bartending while Frost was out there saving lives, as a firewoman, still using her powers to a less dangerous level to help people. Caitlin said goodbye to the team, telling them that she was going away from the superhero life but in fact, went to that Earth with her family. Khione visits them when she's not busy saving the environment or meditating with the forests.
