Chapter Text
“Something isn’t right.”
“What do you mean, Jeon?” A man replied back confused, looking at Jungkook. He was one of the men apart of the Safety Inspectors. They were a group of carefully trained individuals who are in charge of watch each demon summoning whenever a medicinal professional performs them. One of them had walked closer to inspect what Jungkook was looking at. A small gasp had left their mouth as they noticed something wrong too. One noticed how the human was growing blisters on his skin, it seemed like they were choking as well.
“You are correct, something isn’t right.” They sighed, “Something went wrong because the patient should not be looking like—What the?”
Everybody froze in motion watching as the young man laying in the middle of the pentagram stilled. There was a long pause, before his body began to vibrate. His body was having body spasms which made the safety inspectors close in on the body to immediately calm down the problem. Jungkook was on the side staring at everything confused. He’s never seen this happen before. Honestly he didn’t know what to say either.
Although to make matters worse, he began to hear the sound of something cracking. It sounded like something snapping, and it did not sound pleasant at all. He took a short step to the left to look at the body and noticed that the patient's arm looked twisted. It seemed dislocated.
“Oh my god.” One of the inspectors said, taking a step back. “We gotta stop this summoning now.”
Something is wrong! Something is wrong!! What did I do wrong!! Jungkook thought, he felt stuck to the floor. His mind rattled through the whole possession and couldn’t find anything he did wrong. He has practiced this many times here, this isn’t his first time. What was different about today than the other days? He didn’t know.
He was about to take a step forward until he stopped when hearing another crack. It did not sound pleasant, and he knew it wouldn’t look pleasant either. Jungkook was almost scared to even take another glance, but he knew he had too. He works in a hospital and helps patients so he has to look. So he forced himself to look again over one of the inspectors, and noticed now that the young man's right leg was twisted and disfigured. Jungkook's eyes widened in fear.
“Is this the demon’s doing?” Jungkook paused. “Did the summoning work but it’s backfiring?”
One of the inspectors took the book from Jungkook’s hand looking down at the scriptures. Another one faced Jungkook, “From the looks of it, yes the summoning did work, but .. the demon that you summoned is not the right one. It’s not a low level demon, where you can summon it and then banish it after we’re finished using them for the diagnostic. No, you summoned a high level demon and it most definitely is confused and not enjoying this. So they are retaliating and it’s causing harm to the young man’s body. If we don’t stop this now, the young boy will be dead because he will be beyond repair.”
Jungkook could feel his heart stop for a second. The patient could die from this because of this high level demon . Oh, this day is just getting worse and worse. He stepped closer to the table seeing the body still vibrating and the right leg still twisting but was now growing blisters. He moved his eyes towards the human’s face seeing sweat drops falling from the forehead.
“What—What if I try to banish the demon now?”
“That won’t work, Jeon, this is officially a high-level demon that we are working with now. And, trying to detach it from the human body right now will not work the way that we want, especially if we want to keep this patient alive.” One Inspector stated.
“Sir, it’s not looking good.” One Inspector said from somewhere on the other side of the patient. The Inspector that was talking to Jungkook sighed, turning her attention to look down at the patient.
“Jeon, ask the human a question and let's see if the demon within him answers.”
“Huh?” Jungkook raised an eyebrow looking at the human then towards the inspector. “You want me to still ask the demon questions?”
“Yes. Do it.”
“Um,” Jungkook looked towards the patient, internally cringing at the blisters and how the human skin on his arms was looking as if they were tearing. He decided to ask questions that he’d usually ask a demon. “Are you in pain right now?”
The body began to shake violently, which made the inspectors hold the wrist, and ankles to hold him down. A loud screech came from the patient's mouth, which sent a shiver down everybody present in the room back.
“ Where ..the hell am I?” The patient had finally spoken, but everyone in the room knew it was the demon and not him. Jungkook scrunched his eyebrows at the situation at hand. He’s never been in this situation before, and yet he is starting to feel an inkling of fear coursing through his body. He’s never dealt with something like this before, so now he’s feeling like a brand new student standing in here like it’s his first time.
This situation felt too real.
“Jeon, continue talking to the demon. Ask who it is? Because this most—“
“ You can’t speak to me yourself instead of asking that fledgling to speak for you ?” The demon snorted at the inspectors' perplexed expressions. “ Why such expressions? You all summoned me here, yet you all look surprised. I did no damage…yet, you all scared. ”
Jungkook blinked, his hands tightened around his spell book. He gripped it closer to his chest.
“ I don’t get why you all are fighting so hard.. the human is already dead as it is. This worthless soul couldn’t even withstand me being summoned into this body as it is. ” The patient eyes turned towards Jungkook, and a smile appeared on his face. “— Ah you must be the one who brought me here .”
Oh this was way worse. One of the inspectors looked at Jungkook and sighed. That’s when he knew this situation was way more dangerous than it should’ve been. “Jeon, take a step outside. We’re going to fix this. However, we are going to have a long briefing after this.”
Jungkook didn’t think things could get worse.
__
Earlier in the day, Jungkook was in the cafe that was located under the clinic drinking a berry flavored smoothie with Hemoglobin mixed within it. He was sitting at a window daydreaming about his life. He was thinking of how it wasn’t easy to get to where he is now. Everyday was a struggle for a lot of people. Life isn't easy no matter how happy you persuade yourself to be out in the open. Everyone deals with something whether it being something like a job, school, owning a business, and even relationships. You name it—sometimes we just never notice how much someone goes through. Jungkook struggled with himself—inner turmoil if you must.
Some days he felt like he was falling down deep into a tunnel of darkness. But, then other days he seemed to be alright and go about his day being such a positive person to his friends. He hated that he always felt behind. Jungkook's friends seemed to have their life planned as he was still confused on what he wants to do since there is so much he likes to do. It didn’t help that at one point his parents were on his neck about going back to college to get a degree in what they wanted him to do.
He already had finished his Bachelors in Accelerated Radiologic Healing at twenty-four years old. With his degree he would be working as a healer in both a supernatural hospital and clinic. He would be working under very powerful beings in studying the craft in this major. It's a craft of Radiology which is a branch of Medicine dealing with Diagonic Images of Anatomical Structures made through the use of Electromagnetic Radiation or sound waves that treat the disease by radioactive compounds.
Alongside that using the Electromagnetic Radiation and breaking down compounds even going deeper into breaking the molecules piece by piece. The use of the ancient art of healing that was first discovered in the Vatican, Italy. They combine the idiosyncratic techniques alongside, which helps deep into the tissue and ligaments of the body helping to cure whatever disease there is, healing them properly making them feel brand new. Adding onto that, he minored in Parapsychology. Now at twenty-seven years old, he had just finished his residency at the hospital he currently works at, while also practicing Demon summoning as well.
Jungkook's parents complained about the major, and everything he learned. They also didn’t like that he put himself into a major where it seemed dangerous, especially for a fledgling like him. They didn’t want him over exerting himself. He was fragile , they had learned. Fledglings are fragile. And, they have to be taken care of with the utmost care. So, to have a fledgling doing all the work Jungkook does like it’s a normal Tuesday was quite dangerous in a way. It’s anxiety inducing for a Sire to see their fledgling do too much. But, Jungkook didn’t care because he doesn’t have a sire. His sire was dead anyway, killed by a Rogue Wolf who was minding their business. However his sire wanted to bother the wolf and lost his life. Jungkook barely knew the guy anyway but his parents were acquainted with him. He heard that the man worked for a Prestigious University, yet he was going unhinged and biting people or bothering them.
He is still a little suspicious about why his parents were okay after finding out that a Professor that they are acquainted with had bit him. They acted like everything was fine, and made sure to take care of him the best that they could. It still didn’t make sense but at the end he was just happy that his parents didn’t toss him away after finding out he was turned. It took his human parents to get used to having a Vampire son, even though Jungkook still moves around as if he is still human. During his first year of College, they had decided to move into a Vampire Village. It was close to the outskirts of Seoul. It was a Village where many fledglings and Vampires and their families stayed. It was also suited for them to feel comfortable each season so they didn’t have to travel much.
Since living there life has been alright. Especially since he started his job at this clinic working under people he studied under during getting his degree. It was nice, along with his parents now taking the time to learn even more about Fledglings and how to take care of them. Jungkook wondered if they sometimes remember if they’re human and won’t live as long as him. It kinda hurt to think about that but he tried not to dwell on that fact.
However , he was sitting out in the hallway pacing back and forth. He could hear multiple voices in the room direct orders, and his could feel his insides swirl by immense magic that’s being used. It made him feel even worse because what the hell did he summon?
After what felt like a long excruciating hours of waiting, the door finally opened. And, he tried to have a little hope that everything was solved. He really tried . Although, seeing the look on the man holding the door open looking down at him.
It wasn’t good.
“The patient didn’t make it.”
—
Later that night Jungkook was sent home and was to report back into the office early in the morning at 6 am sharp. It wouldn’t be hard for him since he couldn’t stand to be late, and was someone who would be up hours before they had to attend to something.
However when he arrived — well more like he arrived a whole hour early because he was so nervous and knew his job was on the line simply because of this situation.
He currently sat in the room with all the inspectors who were present in the room with him, along with the Head Doctor who approved Jungkook of doing said summoning. Who sat across from them were The Medical Council. They were a group of very carefully selected supernatural beings who are bound together to overlook things that happen in all the hospitals in all of Korea.
Jungkook was beyond nervous, at most he wanted to shit himself. He didn’t know what to expect, and he tried to not let his emotions that were wanting to burst out get the best of him. His hands clamped against one another, sweaty, slightly shaking. He was in a room surrounded by very powerful people. Hell, he didn’t even dare to look up and make any eye contact.
He was scared . He messed up really badly no matter how it looked. Even if the inspectors that were in the room explained the whole situation, and even if he pipes in and tells his side word for word. On the legal aspect, he is still at fault. He was dreading this meeting but knew it had to just happen already.
One side of him tried to say, Patients die all the time in hospitals but then the other side retorted back with, but not by demons .
“Seo-Jun Kim, Leader Of Safety Inspectors.”
“Boom-Seok Myung, Second in Command of Safety Inspectors.”
“Silas Parker, a member of the Safety Inspectors.”
“Nevaeh Barlowe, a member of the Safety Inspectors.”
“Ana Martinez, a member of the Safety Inspectors.”
Nevaeh who was sitting beside Jungkook nudged him on his side, which quickly got him fully out of his thoughts and introduced himself.
“—Jungkook Jeon. Registered Healer, and Demon Diagnostic Summoner”
“And, I am Doctor Dae Hyung Suk, Head Doctor of the Magical Medicine Department.”
Seojun spoke up, looking over at Jungkook before looking towards the Medical Council. “We were in charge of assisting Mr. Jeon with his procedure with the medical patient he had.”
“Hello, I am Doctor Ma-Ri Park, The Head of The Medical Council, here with me are my colleagues, Doctor Bong-Cha Jeong who specializes in Demon Summoning. She is one of the top best. Also last but not least, Doctor Jin Woo Choi. He specializes in Medicinal healing. Mr. Choi is one of the best healers in the nation.” Doctor Park says before looking down at the recorder sitting on the table. “Jungkook, since this is your first time in a meeting like this, I’m going to explain in great detail how this will go so no one is confused.” She said, and everyone including Jungkook nodded.
“In a meeting like this we are going to break down the whole procedure that took place, even breaking down what the patient was there for. We are going to ask you what you did during the procedure, we are also going to ask the safety inspectors who assisted you what they did. We are also going to consult with the Head Doctor here too about his reasons for giving you permission to do this. Then we’re going to have more follow up questions, and then we are going to end this recording. This recording is going to be sent to our other colleague who wasn’t able to make it, and he’s going to discuss with us and then we make a final decision within a week on what we’re going to do. I know this all sounds overwhelming but at the same time, we take people's lives who are in our hands seriously and you will be treated as everyone else who makes a mistake. Do you understand ?”
“Yes Ma’am.”
“Good.” Doctor Park leaned back, looking over at Doctor Choi holding her hand out. “Can you pass me the folder?”
Doctor Choi snapped his finger and a thick beige folder appeared in his hand. He handed it right over to Doctor Park who took it, and he snapped his fingers again making two more of the same folders appear. He handed one over to Doctor Jeong, while he placed his own in front of him. Doctor Suk opened his own folder filled with papers, and Jungkook continued to sit there dreading this whole thing. But, he truly had to suck it up and just answer the questions as truthfully as possible. Because honestly he was still confused on how everything went left.
“Okay, so Case #N119 Elijah Murphy. He was 29 years old, A White Male, An American who was sent here, since our technology and Magical Medicinal Practices are stronger here. He suffered from Sleep Apnea, and Maladaptive Daydreaming. He had ADHD, and other than that he was deemed healthy. Even though he was sent here because he had been going to the hospital many times and was turned away because the Doctors thought there was nothing truly wrong. They thought the family was delusional because they couldn’t find anything. So the Murphy family got in contact with us through their Primary Doctor and we decided to help them.” Doctor Park eyes looked through each sentence continuing on reading.
“Doctor Dae-Hyung Suk met with the family and got to know what was going on. And, he also learned their Family Medical History. The Murphy Family met Mr. Jeon as well. They all talked about how they couldn’t find anything and the topic of Magical Diagnostics came up where they can use magic to help discover something that is happening with the patient that regular technology can’t find. The Family agreed and that’s when Doctor Dae-Hyung Suk brought up Demon Summoning, and explained what it was. Which led to Elliot’s parents immediately agreeing. They wanted to figure out what’s wrong.” Doctor Park finished the small summary before looking up, her eyes looked towards Doctor Suk.
“Doctor Suk, when you first met the Murphy Family, and were discussing the many options of what you could provide, did they agree to the Demon Summoning?” Doctor Park questioned. Doctor Jeong and Doctor Choi both pulled out a pen and began to make some notes on some paper they had on the side. Jungkook wondered where the paper came from.
oh yeah, magic .
“Yes. They did. Ms. Murphy, Elliot’s mother, agreed to the procedure. Elliot was a little nervous about it, and his father agreed to it as well. At first I was a little apprehensive about it, because it seemed like Elliot didn’t want to do it and his parents coerced him into it. I let them know that if Elliot didn’t agree to this then they legally can’t move on with any of these procedures.”
“Mm, How did the parents react to that?” Doctor Jeong asked.
Doctor Suk looked over at Doctor Jeong. “They reacted nicely to me but you can tell they weren’t happy about it. They also brought up how they have guardianship over him. Meaning when it comes to certain situations, they can override his word especially if they feel like he is making decisions that endanger his life.”
“Jungkook, did you speak with Elliot's parents at all?” Doctor Choi asked him.
“I did. When they agreed to the Demon Diagnostics Summoning, Doctor Suk introduced me and told them how I specialize in that field and I talked to them about how it goes and spoke with them if they are sure. And, like how Doctor Suk said. Elliot seemed to be against it, yet his parents spoke for him and said yes.”
Doctor Park nodded, writing down a few notes. “Okay. Let’s talk about the procedure. To make sure everyone understands the procedure, Demon Diagnostic Summoning is a procedure which takes precise concentration, and full control to do. We use this method to summon low level demons and have them enter the human body and awaken within that we use that demon to figure out what feels wrong in the body. This is a practice we used for centuries. Centuries ago, The first Indigenous Doctor, created this procedure by mixing witchcraft and magic together. She created a Medical Law which would include Demons to be of help in these procedures. It took a moment for it to be passed as a Medical Law. It was then shared around the world for many medical professionals to use and to learn. Not many people agree with it, some still don’t and try to fight against it. However, This gives us free range to summon low level demons only, we can’t summon anything higher than that. That’s the rule.” She said, giving a quick glance towards Jungkook before looking back at her papers.
Jungkook caught the glance and immediately looked down at his hands.
“So, Jungkook,” Doctor Choi says. His voice is calm and his words are precise. “Run us all through when you walked into the room to start the procedure till when the patient passed away.”
Jungkook looked up nervously, biting his lip ring but nodding slowly. “ uh—um . I came into the room around seven in the morning, after I went to my locker to change and then I went into the summoning wing. Once I went over there and went to the front desk to get a run down of what my schedule will be like.” His shoulders deflated,, and continued on explaining in great detail everything that went on. Everything from cleaning the room, double checking everything was there, making sure to meet up with Doctor Suk. Down to seeing Elliot, and his parents and making sure to run them through the whole procedure again. He even explained how the Safety Inspectors came in and checked up on him and made sure everything was in check for the procedure. He made sure his summoning book and scriptures were written correctly, The Safety Inspectors even checked in behind him.
In the midst of his explanation, Jungkook admitted he still doesn’t understand what went wrong when he knows he did everything right. Especially with everyone checking right behind him. He knows that someone would’ve called him out on any little tiny mistakes he would’ve made before starting the procedure or even in the middle of it.
He was confused. “That’s when the demon appeared in the patient's body. It threw me off.” He scrunched his eyebrows thinking really hard at the moment. Jungkook expressed to them how all the Special Inspectors were even thrown off but immediately went to take action. “Mr. Kim, he told me to ask the demon questions to see if we can maybe figure out who this demon is. But, the Demon mocked us basically. And that’s when, Mr. Kim told me to leave the room so they can do what they need to do. And, I did. I remember waiting for a while. Mr. Kim came out to me telling me how the patient died.”
“Mm, I see.” Doctor Park hummed.
“Mhm.” Doctor Choi was writing something down. He casted his eyes up towards Jungkook. “Do you have the summoning book you used?”
Jungkook's eyes widened, nodding quickly before reaching down to his side to pick up his bag. He unzipped it, reaching in to pull out his summoning book. It was a large black book, nothing really special about it but it did have a carving of an ancient symbol on it. Once he got it out, he handed it to Doctor Choi, who smiled and took the book and pulled it towards himself.
“Beautiful carving.” He complimented before opening the book. “Which page do you use for the summoning?”
“Page 107.”
“Oh you’ve done quite a few summonings.” He nodded to himself as he breezed to that page. “Ah, here we go.” He began to scan through the page carefully. In the meantime Doctor Jeong looked towards The Safety Inspectors.
“What did you guys do when you sent Jungkook out of the room?” She leaned back in her seat crossing her arms looking straight towards them.
Neveah pushed some of her hair behind her ear, kinda freezing when meeting eyes with Doctor Jeong. Doctor Jeong cat-like striking eyes were staring right into her soul but she quickly straightened her posture and wiped the shock look off her face. “When we moved Jungkook outside, we immediately began to try and get the demon's name so we could banish it. But the demon at first was laughing at our frustration and then it told us its name, and then we banished it after an hour or so. We took two hours to try and bring the patient, but it wasn’t working. We watched the patient take his last breath and yeah.”
Doctor Jeong squinted her eyes, seemingly interested. “What was the demon's name?”
“Kim Namjoon.”
Doctor Choi looked up from the book, realization showing on his face. “Ah, so that is why we got a not so happy call from the Jung Coven.”
Doctor Park and Jeong both looked at Doctor Choi in slight shock.
“When did this call happen?” Doctor Jeong asked, Doctor Suk along with the inspectors were curious too but also shocked. Jungkook was just confused on who the Jung Coven is all together. He’s never even heard the name Kim Namjoon.
“Last Night. Yet, we were able to get to it due to us attending to other responsibilities. When hearing about them calling, I was quite confused because they don’t call us for anything so to see them call and then hear what happened. It all makes sense to me now. Everything is clicking together, yet I still can’t figure out why you were able to summon a high ranking demon like Namjoon. I’m reading your scripture, and it’s correct and there are no mistakes. Everything is neat, nothing sloppy. Everything is precise, so now I am just as confused as you all as to how this happened. Maybe this could’ve been an anomaly within the summoning.”
Doctor Park hummed. “But our system is precise, there is no room for mistakes.”
Doctor Jeong tilted her head comprehending the words from her colleague before speaking, “—every system is not perfect. Even if we live in a world where we can combine magic with modern technology or we can get things done in a snap of a finger now. It doesn’t change that the system has flaws, and many anomalies lying around. Now I’m not saying that Jungkook is on the hook for this because this patient death does still fall under him and his team. But, looking at everything it does show that he didn’t intentionally try to murder the patient by summoning a high ranking demon. Now Elliot‘s family may not see it in that way. Because, they lost their son. And on the other side, The Jung Coven may not see it as an accident that Kim Namjoon was summoned into a human body for Medical reasons.” She says, her eyes cutting towards Jungkook who stared back at her.
“Jungkook, I’m going to be honest. This isn’t looking good for you at all, well right now it isn’t.” Doctor Jeong paused, letting the words linger in the air for a second before continuing, a small frown on her face. “Looking at this from a legal perspective, The family does have a right to take you to court to sue you for not properly taking care of her son.”
Jungkook eyes widened, “But I—“
“Yes. We know , Jungkook. But, The Family has a right. What makes this possibly worse, The Jung Coven could sue you as well, actually I’m not exactly sure with that one because Kim Namjoon isn’t exactly a welcomed citizen in society so, I don’t want to say they could then they actually couldn’t so I’m going to drop that. But with Elliot’s family, yeah. That’s why we wanted to sit here and discuss everything that happened to see what could’ve gone wrong. It’s scary to see there was nothing wrong, and this was actually just a flaw in the system of magic. However with families who lost loved ones, no matter the amount of facts you pull up or try to tell your side. At the end of the day the patient died. And, that patient had a family that loved them, and no amount of facts is going to ever take away the pain or bring them back—“
“Yeah.” Jungkook knew the council was right. And, he even accepted that and took rightful responsibility for everything. Because at the end of the day he is in the wrong and someone did die on his watch. He was nervous at the fact that he could get sued. Hell even the thought of his parents finding out about that is going to make this even worse. He did not want to hear them nagging at him because of this situation. Even though sooner or later he knew they were going to find out and talk to him about it.
Doctor Choi closed the book and turned off the recorder, placing it to the side. His eyes looked back at Jungkook. “I’m sorry that all you’re hearing is bad news, but this would not have been avoided. Elliot’s family did say when the news broke out to them that they did want to talk to you. I didn’t want to say anything until we finished this meeting. Because everything we're telling you is quite a lot.”
It was a lot , overwhelming honestly. He didn’t not expect his week to go like this. Although he still didn’t understand who the Jung Coven was or who Kim Namjoon was. Since he didn’t understand they were, it was hard to put how scared of them he should be or how much he should worry.
“Doctor Jeong?” Jungkook called out. Doctor Jeong looked his way, nodding her head showing she was listening.
“Can anyone here explain to me who the Jung Coven is and who Kim Namjoon is?”
Ana and Silas looked towards Jungkook, baffled. Seojun raised an eyebrow in shock, Beom-seok and Neveah gasped lightly. Doctor Dae-Hyung didn’t say anything just looked at him. Doctor Jeong and Choi didn’t show any expression. While Doctor Park looked amused and nodded.
“The Jung Coven is a coven which has been around for a good long time, I wouldn’t know the precise amount of time. But they have been here for a good while. They’ve only grown more powerful as they added more into their coven. Within their coven, they have familial covens and packs which they consider family and they are welcomed around them anytime. The Primus, Jung Hoseok. He goes by Jay instead for personal reasons. He is the leader and founder of this coven. He is a Vampire — a very strong one. Do not even underestimate his power. Kim Seokjin, he is the eldest of the coven. He’s a grim reaper but also an Attorney. He use to own a clinic, and once worked on collecting and organizing souls designated to be sent down to the underworld. Now that has changed since now he worked in the underworld and guides souls himself.”
Jungkook nodded slowly as she continued on, “Min Yoongi, is a Druid. He specializes in Necrobotany. It’s a mixture of Necromancy and Botany together. Park Jimin is a Wolf from the Park Clan who are known for Charities and helping with Children’s hospitals, and Adoption Centers. Kim Taehyung, is a Dragon. He is technically still a fledgling, yet at the tip of leaving that title..” she says, the little amusement she had dancing around on her face disappearing now. “Lastly, Kim Namjoon.”
Jungkook felt like he was holding his breath waiting for her next words. He felt nervous all of a sudden, a random shiver going up his spine did not help either.
“Kim Namjoon is what you call a Hybrid. A mixture of two species. He’s a mixture of species that is very rarely seen together, yet it’s possible but not without people not speaking their dislike about it. He’s a Demon but also a Vampire. That’s a combination that’s not supposed to be together..” she shrugged, “yet people still decide to come together and make hybrids .”
Jungkook didn’t like how she said that last part. He never heard someone say a word with such distaste. It left a slight… no straight up bad taste in his mouth. He was already in trouble and didn’t want to add more fire to the pit by opening his mouth so he stayed quiet.
“What she meant to say..” Doctor Jeong glanced sideways at Doctor Park who then looked towards Jungkook. “He’s a hybrid who is considered dangerous to society. Kim Namjoon has caused much damage to society where he has been shunned and also has the species council watching his every move. The council had made a deal with the Jung Coven to keep Kim Namjoon locked away, hidden from society so as not to cause any more damage in return they wouldn't go out and publicly kill him.”
That’s horrible, Jungkook thought.
“Society believes hybrids are a problem because in their heads they believe they are born to cause problems and disturb society. Which is not true yet, it’s hard to convince a society who is so deep into believing that type of propaganda that that doesn’t make sense. But with everyone’s religious views, personal feelings, and et cetera. It is hard to make them budge. Don’t even get me started on the political race—“
“Actually let’s not get into that, I feel like this meeting has been long enough.” Doctor Choi cut in, knowing if he didn’t say anything Doctor Jeong would’ve kept going. He sighed, straightening up the papers in front of him before looking over at Jungkook again. “Sorry for the meeting going over its original time limit. But we do need to wrap this up and attend to our other duties for the day. So, for today Jungkook you can work but you’re not doing any demon summoning for a while. That will be decided and you know by the end of the day. But until then, you will be suspended from doing demon summonings until further notice. Doctor Suk you will not be assigning demon summonings until further notice.”
Both Jungkook and Doctor Suk nodded their heads. Even though Doctor Suk looked more irritated at that but didn’t speak.
“Well this meeting has been dismissed, you may return to your regular activities.” Everyone began to get up from their seats besides Doctor Suk who looked at everyone and then looked towards the Council who were cleaning their spaces. Jungkook wasn’t looking at them but he could hear Doctor Suk voice in the background as he walked towards the door of the room.
“..Can I speak with you all about something?”
That’s all Jungkook heard before he left with the Inspectors behind him.
