Part 1:

Batuu Blockade

FADE IN:

EXT/INT. DEMRAY CITY RESISTANCE BASE (MYRA) - DAY

The Planet Myra is a planet covered in plateaus interrupted by deep canyons and chasms. The City of Demray stands atop a plateau and is surrounded on all sides by ravines and gorges. Large bridges stretch across the canyons surrounding Demray. One of which connects to a much taller plateau which houses the Resistance's new base.

The Resistance Base is carved into the side of the tall plateau. It has a large hangar and several small buildings that overlook the city of Demray. What is left of the Resistance is living in small homes all next to one another. The Millennium Falcon is stored in their hangar and there are porgs all over.

CUT TO:

INT. DEMRAY CITY REY'S TINY HOME (MYRA) - DAY

REY is sitting on the floor in the center of her home reading from one of the sacred Jedi texts. LEIA ORGANA steps in her doorway. REY looks up and sees LEIA ORGANA, waiting for her.

LEIA ORGANA
Rey if you put half as much time into training
to be a Jedi as you do reading about them,
you'd be a master by now.

REY
I'm just trying to learn it all.

LEIA ORGANA
I can see that. Did you learn the
part about training beginning
five minutes ago?

REY
I'm sorry Master.

LEIA ORGANA
Balance Rey, balance.

REY
I try Master.

LEIA ORGANA
Let's go.

REY follows LEIA ORGANA out of the room

LEIA ORGANA (O.S.)
Bring your staff.

REY
Yes master.

REY walks back into her room and grabs her staff. Next to her staff is Anakin's lightsaber. It is still in two pieces.

CUT TO:

INT/EXT. DEMRAY CITY RESISTANCE HANGAR (MYRA) - DAY

LEIA ORGANA and REY walk past the Millennium Falcon to the opening of the hangar. Waiting for them are four Marksman training remotes floating around each other.

REY
This again?

LEIA ORGANA
This again.

REY lets out a sigh.

REY
Okay, I'm ready.

REY takes her staff, she holds it at quarterstaff position.

LEIA ORGANA
Try not to get hit this time.
Anticipate where the next shot is
coming from, and defend yourself.

REY
Right, I'll use Soresu.

LEIA ORGANA let's out a sigh.

LEIA ORGANA
Just... deflect the lasers.
Begin.

REY begins blocking the laser bolts from the remotes with her staff. Every time she knocks down one remote she is nearly shot by another. When she is down to two remotes she takes out one while the other shoots her from behind, hitting her right arm. She takes down the final remote.

REY
One hit isn't that bad, right?

LEIA ORGANA & REY (together)
One is too many.

REY
I know, I know, but I am trying to get better.

LEIA ORGANA
Rey, why do you only attack the remotes you're looking at?

REY
So I can be accurate, not miss?

LEIA ORGANA
Spoken like a soldier, not a Jedi. What if you can't see?

REY
Yes master.

LEIA ORGANA
No Rey, I'm asking you, what if you can't see?

REY
I... I don't know.

LEIA ORGANA
What is the force Rey?

REY
It's an energy that connects and binds everything together.

LEIA ORGANA
And you can feel that connection?

REY
Yes.

LEIA ORGANA
Then you shouldn't need your eyes
to see.

LEIA ORGANA gives REY a helmet with a visor she cannot see through (from The Rise of Skywalker). REY puts it on and the training remotes float back up.

LEIA ORGANA (CONT'D)
Begin.

REY swings on the remote behind her and knocks it down. When she does this, she gets shot.

LEIA ORGANA (CONT'D)
Patience Rey. Wait for right
moment.

REY blocks two bolts and then knocks another remote down. She gets shot again. REY blocks another bolt but is shot again. REY knocks the third remote down and is hit again. LEIA ORGANA observes in silence. REY is able to block the last remote's bolts, but swings at it twice and misses. The remote floats just outside of the hangar opening, REY swings and hits it. However, REY oversteps and starts to fall out the hangar with only one foot still on the ledge. LEIA ORGANA quickly grabs her arm, saving her from a long fall. REY takes off her helmet and looks down at the drop.

LEIA ORGANA (CONT'D)
Patient and mindful Rey. That is
what a Jedi is.

LEIA ORGANA pulls REY back into the hangar on her two feet.

LEIA ORGANA (CONT'D)
And focused, you have to feel the
force around you.

REY
Patient, mindful, focused, it all
seems easier to read than to do.

LEIA ORGANA
Clear your mind, that's how you
focus. Feel your surroundings and
be mindful of them. Then exercise
patience.

REY
I will... master.

LEIA ORGANA
That's all I wanted to hear.

At that moment a shaking Quadjumper starship slowly flies into the hangar and lands. REY is surprised.

REY
You bought a Quadjumper?

LEIA ORGANA
I did. We need something that
doesn't draw First Order
attention.

REY
Like the Falcon?

LEIA ORGANA nods. FINN exits the quadjumper and walks towards LEIA and REY.

LEIA ORGANA (CONT'D)
Your piloting skills are
improving quickly Finn.

FINN
Thanks, I was a little shaky at
first but once I relaxed and felt
the ship out, I think I got the
hang of it.

LEIA ORGANA (TO REY)
You could learn something from
him.

REY
What's the ship for?

LEIA ORGANA
Your next mission. Do me a favor,
try not to pick a fight with any
ugnaughts this time.

FINN
Yeah Threepio is still worked up
over that incident.

REY
It was my first mission and I got
him his leg back almost
immediately.

FINN
He still brings it up from time
to time.

LEIA ORGANA
Tell me about it.

KAYDEL CONNIX approaches FINN, REY, and LEIA ORGANA.

KAYDEL CONNIX
General, Vi Moradi has contacted
us. She says she's found an
archaeologist and a historian
that can get us to a Temple?

LEIA ORGANA
Thank you Kaydel.

KAYDEL CONNIX nods then walks away.

REY
Temple? Does she mean Jedi
Temple? Am I crafting my own Jedi
lightsaber?

LEIA ORGANA
You have good insight.

REY is excited. She can't help but smile.

REY
I'm crafting my own Jedi
lightsaber!

LEIA ORGANA
Yes, but the weapon does not make
the Jedi. Constructing your
lightsaber is the first step in a
long journey of becoming a Jedi.

REY
Right... Leia I feel ready I
can...

LEIA ORGANA (INTERRUPTING)
I know... Vi Moradi is an ally to
the Resistance and she wants to
help you. Her and her
archaeologist friend are both
waiting for you on Batuu.

FINN
I got the ship nice and warmed up
for you Rey.

REY
Thank you Finn.

LEIA reflects for a moment.

LEIA ORGANA
Finn.

FINN
Yes General.

LEIA ORGANA
I want you going with. Look out
for her while she's there.

FINN smiles. He jokes with REY.

FINN
Yes General. Come on Rey, General
says I'm in charge.

REY
That is not what she said.

FINN
It's heavily implied.

The two friends board the Quadjumper, fly out of the hangar, off into space, and make the jump to lightspeed.

CUT TO:

EXT. PLANET BATUU - SPACE

FINN and REY emerge out of hyperspace. FINN is in the pilot's chair while REY is sitting behind him.

REY
Not bad for your first time
piloting at lightspeed.

FINN
You know I have flown in and out
of hyperspace before right?

REY
Really? Rose says you just
watched.

FINN
Well I... also provided emotional
support. Preparing landing cycle.

FINN begins flying closer to Batuu.

REY
I can see Poe's flying lessons
have been working wonders.

FINN
Only a few lessons in and I think
I got it down. Do you know much
about this place?

REY
Artoo has scans of some books
from one of the temples but he
never told me about how he got
them. The planet has a dozen or
so temples but most of them were
used for training younglings,
meditation, and research. There
were rumors about the research
being for Sith Artifacts.

FINN
That's good to know.

REY
If you want to know more I
suggest you speak with the
archaeologist and historian
waiting for us.

FINN
I'm just glad to hear we have
allies out there. Since Crait
things have been... discouraging.

REY
I can see it bothering the
others. Poe especially.

FINN
Poe especially. Are back was up
against a wall, we called out for
help and no one came. It really
got to him.

REY
I did, Luke did, Chewy...

FINN
I know. But the Resistance needs
more people standing by us if
it's gonna work.

REY
Have hope Finn. It sounds like
Leia's contact and her friend
stand by us. And from the sounds
of it, the archaeologist can
point me in the direction of a
kyber crystal.

FINN
Kyber crystal?

REY
It powers the Jedis' lightsabers.

FINN
Good to know.

Two First Order Tie Fighters approach their ship.

FIRST ORDER PILOT
Quadjumper, this is the First
Order. Follow us for landing,
prepare for ship inspection.

FINN
Yes sir, on it. Following your
lead.

REY
Did Poe teach anything about
flying in formation?

FINN
No but I'm more of a "hands on"
learner anyway.

FINN and REY follow the Tie Fighters to an open field outside of Black Spire Outpost.

CUT TO:

EXT. BLACK SPIRE OUTPOST LANDING ZONE (BATUU) - DAY

FINN and REY exit the Quadjumper. They are both wearing hooded ponchos. FINN's hood is up, REY's is not. FINN stands behind REY hiding his face. REY performs a Jedi mind trick on the approaching Tie Fighter pilots.

REY
Our ship has passed all
inspections.

TIE FIGHTER PILOT
Your ship has passed all
inspections.

REY
You will hand us our holopuck and
go back to patrolling your zone.

TIE FIGHTER PILOT
We will hand you your holopuck
and go back to patrolling our
zone.

The two Tie Fighter Pilots hand REY a holopuck. It displays an image of their ship, their parking space, as well as "echo-25" displayed in Aurebesh. The pilots then walk back to their ship.

FINN
That has got to be the best part
about the force.

CUT TO:

INT. BLACK SPIRE OUTPOST OGA'S CANTINA (BATUU) - NIGHT REY REY and FINN walk around and begin looking for VI MORADI.

FINN
This is the place Vi said to meet
her and her friend.

REY
Do you know what she looks like?

VI MORADI
Blue hair, orange jacket, and a
big problem on her mind.

REY and FINN look over at VI MORADI. She is sitting at a table alone with her drink raised. They walk over to her table. Before they can sit down VI MORADI stands up and shakes both their hands.

VI MORADI (CONT'D)
Vi Moradi, nice to meet you.

FINN
Finn.

REY
Rey.

VI MORADI
First name basis already? Glad
we're all friends.

REY and FINN look at each other, then the three sit down.

FINN
What problem are you talking
about?

VI MORADI
It's our archaeologist friend,
Beaumont Kin is his name. I've
sent a shuttle to a town called
Peka where he's at, but it never
made it.

VI MORADI pulls out a holoprojector and places it on the table. It displays a holomessage from BEAUMONT KIN.

BEAUMONT KIN
I've been waiting all day. I'm
told by the town's mayor that as
long as the blockades still
stand, Peka will not be sending
anyone out and will most likely
not receive any shipments until
the First Order can take care of
the problem.

VI MORADI
Like that will happen, First
Order only cares about collecting
their dues.

BEAUMONT KIN
I'm not sure when I'll be able to
leave Peka, it's far too
dangerous to travel alone. I'll
see you around Vi... hopefully
soon.

The holomessage ends. VI MORADI puts away her holoprojector.

VI MORADI
That was earlier today.

REY
Do you know what happened to the
shuttle you sent out?

VI MORADI
The driver came back today on
foot, said Baron Yasto Attsmun's
droids took everything he had.

FINN
Yasto Attsmun?

VI MORADI
Used to run Attsmun Industries.
He's a big name on Canto Bight.
He came here in search of some
sort of treasure hidden in one of
the temples, and brought his
private droid army to help him
find it.

REY
Do you know why he put up the
blockades?

VI MORADI
He didn't, Attsmun went missing
weeks ago. He was declared dead
recently by his right hand. They
think it was the First Order's
doing. Next thing we knew a First
Order mining facility was
destroyed here on Batuu.

FINN
That explains all the First Order
security around here.

VI MORADI
Exactly. Since then, their droids
have been setting up random
blockades and stealing from
anyone who comes through. First
Order and locals alike. Now I'm
stuck here, Beaumont is stuck in
Peka, and we have no way of
getting to that temple.

FINN
We have a ship, we can fly over
any blockade and make it to Peka.

VI MORADI
On paper that sounds good, but
the First Order has declared it a
no fly zone. You're only allow in
and out of Batuu through Black
Spire.

FINN
Okay, so we'll escort you. We got
through a First Order checkpoint,
we can get through some droid
blockade.

REY
I can't mind trick droids Finn.

VI MORADI
Mind trick? So you're a Jedi
then?

REY
I'm trying to be, but I need to
get to that temple. Do you have
any ideas?

VI MORADI
Well if the stories I've heard
about the Jedi are true, "trying
to be" is good enough for me. I
can get us a speeder, but it will
still take some Jedi ability to
get us through what Attsmun's
droids can throw at us.

CUT TO:

EXT. ROCKSPIRE FIELDS BACK ROAD (BATUU) - DAY

VI MORADI, FINN, and REY are riding in an old and rusty V-35 Landspeeder. FINN and REY are sitting in the front and have removed their ponchos. VI MORADI is sitting in the backseat. REY is driving. The speeder is very shaky. FINN is uneasy.

FINN
Vi, you ever drive this thing
before?

VI MORADI
Up until it started shaking like
this. But hey, at least it still
runs.

REY reaches down by her leg and pulls a lever. The shaking stops. VI MORADI is surprised.

REY
Air brakes were on.

VI MORADI
Right...

REY
So how long have you been on
Batuu?

VI MORADI

Not long, but long enough to see
what the First Order can do to a
place like this. They've
overthrown the Mayor of Black
Spire Outpost and have instituted
curfews, targeted inspections of
any place they want, and
increasingly high taxes. People
are struggling to get by.

FINN
That's what they do, I've seen it
happen across other planets.

VI MORADI
I've seen a lot too, heard
stories... It won't be long until
the First Order begin kidnapping
civilians and brainwashing them.
That's what that First Order
mining facility actually was. I'm
just glad it was destroyed before
they could fully turn someone.

FINN reflects on his past.

FINN
Yeah... me too.

VI MORADI pulls out her holoprojector and answers a call from BEAUMONT KIN.

VI MORADI
Beaumont we're on our way, is
everything alright by you.

BEAUMONT KIN
Yes, I have everything I need
packed, but are you sure you want
to travel with those droids
around? It can be really
dangerous.

VI MORADI
We'll be fine Beaumont, see you
soon.

BEAUMONT KIN
See you soon Vi.

VI MORADI hangs up.

FINN
Hey Vi, how much farther?

VI MORADI
Not much, just over this...

REY begins to focus and everything becomes quiet. She stops the speeder as fast as she can. VI MORADI and FINN get whiplash.

VI MORADI (CONT'D)
What are you doing?!

FINN
Rey what's going...

A large thin rock spire explodes at its base and crashes down right where they would have been if Rey hadn't stopped.

VI MORADI
That was a close one.

Attsmun Industry Droids begin chasing our heroes in three different landspeeders (none are the same model). REY takes off and tries to evade.

FINN
Are these the droids you were
talking about?!

VI MORADI
Three guesses!

REY
Hang on!

The Attsmun Industry Droids catch up to our heroes and begin firing at their speeder. Shots hit the windshield and it begins cracking. REY rams her speeder into one of the droids' speeders and it crashes.

VI MORADI
Finn, your rifle!

FINN gives VI MORADI his EL-16 blaster rifle. VI MORADI, crawls through a hatch in the cabin's backseat and into the open air port. She starts shooting at the droids. VI MORADI hits the driver of one of the speeders and it crashes.

FINN
Nice shot!

The last speeder speeds up towards them while shooting. VI MORADI shoots at it but then ducks down to avoid blaster fire.

VI MORADI
They're coming up from behind us!

Rey's is PIT maneuvered. Our heroes spin out and their speeder flips over. VI MORADI goes flying out of the air port and lands in a bush. VI MORADI is unconscious. The Attsmun Industry Droids pull over and pick up VI MORADI. They put her in their speeder and drive off.

REY
Finn!

FINN
Rey! Are you alright?

REY
I'm fine but the canopy, it's
stuck, I can't get it open.

FINN kicks the canopy three types before it opens. FINN exits the speeder first and then helps REY out. FINN runs to his rifle and picks it up.

FINN
Vi, where is she, do you see her?

FINN begins looking for VI MORADI. He notices a wet spot in the ground and a long trail of spilled liquid heading off into the distance. REY looks at their flipped over landspeeder. She closes her eyes, and the world goes quiet. REY reaches out her hand and slowly lifts the landspeeder with the force, flipping it back over. FINN watches in awe. Rey opens her eyes and uses the force to rip the badly damaged canopy off of the landspeeder. Rey catches her breath.

REY
You said you can't find Vi?

FINN
Yes, but the speeder they took
her on, it's leaking.

REY
We can follow their trail.

FINN
That's what I'm thinking.

CUT TO:

EXT. BARON DRUX NAST'S CAMP (BATUU) - DAY

REY and FINN are riding in their landspeeder. They come across the droids' speeder pulled over on the side of the road. There are tracks leading down into a deep crater.

FINN
That's their speeder alright.

REY
Do you think they ran out of
fuel?

REY and FINN exit their landspeeder. FINN sees footprints heading down the crater.

FINN
I don't think so. Look, tracks.
They go down into that crater.

The two walk towards the crater and see BARON DRUX NAST's camp at the bottom of it. It is made up of stolen land speeders and large storage containers that crashed on the planet (during the Tales from the Galaxy's Edge video game). The two lay down to not be spotted. FINN pulls out his rifle and uses the scope to get a closer look at the camp.

FINN (CONT'D)
I think I found their leader...
take a look.

FINN hands REY his rifle. REY looks through the scope and sees VI MORADI chained to a broken down speeder. She is sitting on the floor next to BARON DRUX NAST who sits on a makeshift throne, made out of a speeder seat and other materials the Attsmun Industry Droids have been able to steal. BARON DRUX NAST has two Attsmun Industry Droids guarding him.

BARON DRUX NAST is a Male of the Ungrila species. He is middle-aged (younger than Yasto Attsmun). It's clear that he hasn't been able to regularly bathe. He wears a gray trench coat and a lot of jewelry, all from different people he's been able to rob with his blockades.

REY
Vi, I see her.

FINN
Great, what's your plan?

REY
I've got an idea, follow me.

FINN and REY get up and move.

CUT TO:

BARON DRUX NAST is speaking with VI MORADI very casually.

VI MORADI
So, where are your other
prisoners?

BARON DRUX NAST
Actually you are the only one my
droids have ever captured.

VI MORADI
Yeah? Why am I so lucky?

BARON DRUX NAST
My droids think you can help me.
Who are you?

VI MORADI
You tell me first.

BARON DRUX NAST smirks.

BARON DRUX NAST
Baron Drux Nast, second in
command to Baron Attsmun until
his leadership was... "stunted"
by the First Order. Now I am in
charge of all of his assets.

VI MORADI
Yeah I can see you're doing a
good job of it.

BARON DRUX NAST
You've been interrogated before
haven't you?

VI MORADI
Is it that obvious?

BARON DRUX NAST
Blatantly.

Off in the distance VI MORADI spots FINN and REY sneaking around the cargo containers.

BARON DRUX NAST
So are you going to tell me?

VI MORADI
Tell you what?

BARON DRUX NAST
Your name.

REY and FINN sneak up on two Attsmun Industry Droids. REY knocks one down and crushes its chest with her staff. FINN shoots the other Attsmun Industries Droid in the back with his weapon set to stun, the droid crashes into the ground making a loud noise. BARON DRUX NAST notices the noise and looks over. VI MORADI tries distracting him.

VI MORADI
Vi, my name is Vi and I'm not
that important.

BARON DRUX NAST
Nonsense. I'm sure there is
something special about you.

REY and FINN sneak up on two more droids, this time they are even more quiet. REY raises both droids one foot off of the ground with the force. FINN stuns both droids and REY slowly lowers them back down to avoid making noise.

VI MORADI
What do you think it is?

BARON DRUX NAST
I'm waiting for you to tell me.
How quickly you tell me the
truth, will let me know how much
I can trust you. What do you know
of the First Order?

VI MORADI
Not much.

BARON DRUX NAST
Tell the truth.

FINN stuns one more droid and REY catches it before it hits ground. She slowly lowers the droid down. REY uses hand signals to tell FINN to move to the next position. VI MORADI notices, she keeps talking.

VI MORADI
I know about the First Order mine
that exploded, now the First
Order is monitoring who can leave
and enter Batuu.

BARON DRUX NAST
Ah yes, we were blamed for that.
I've been at war with them for a
while now. Yasto Attsmun came
here looking for some powerful
relic and now I've yet to find
his remains. I know the First
Order was behind it, those power
hungry savages.

VI MORADI
I didn't know that.

BARON DRUX NAST
Personally I never respected The
First Order, even before this.
All the senseless acts of
violence to go back to a way that
failed decades ago. They're all
thugs at best.

REY
What makes you so different!?

REY is standing on top of a storage container.

BARON DRUX NAST
I don't have a choice, young
girl!

BARON DRUX NAST waves his hand signaling his two guards to begin shooting at REY. REY jumps high in the air, dodging the bolts. The two Attsmun Industry Droids walk towards REY. REY lands directly in front of both droids, holding her staff in quarter position.

REY dodges every blaster bolt shot at her until she is shot in the right arm, the same spot the Marksman training remote hit her. REY falls down. The two Attsmun Droids walk up to REY and stand over her. FINN shoots one of the droids in the back. The two droids turn around. REY gets up and uses her staff to take down both droids.

BARON DRUX NAST (CONT'D)
Your choice to fight primitively
is admirable. Thankfully you have
friends who don't share the same
sentiment.

REY
Let her go, and stop your
blockades.

BARON DRUX NAST
That, my dear, I don't have much
of a choice.

FINN walks up to BARON DRUX NAST, rifle in hand.

FINN
You always have a choice.

BARON DRUX NAST
Not when I can't leave this
forsaken planet. I got to turn a
profit somehow.

REY
Buy robbing innocent people?

FINN
What happened to your ships?

BARON DRUX NAST
Clamped down, all of them, and
safely guarded in a First Order
shipyard. Now I'm stuck here with
all these boring droids.

FINN
And that's your excuse for
robbing people?

BARON DRUX NAST
I think it's a good one. And
before you get any ideas...

BARON DRUX NAST presses a button on his wrist device and the largest container in the camp opens up. The container is housing at least 100 Attsmun Industry Droids. BARON DRUX NAST, hovers his finger over another button on his wrist device.

BARON DRUX NAST (CONT'D)
If I press this button, all those
droids in that container will
activate and protect or avenge me
at all costs.

REY
We don't want to fight. We just
want peace, and our friend back.

BARON DRUX NAST
I can see that. What do I get out
of it?

REY
If we offer you passage off
world, will you let Vi go?

BARON DRUX NAST
I could, but what assurance can
you give me?

REY pulls out the holopuck that the two First Order pilots gave her. She activates it allowing BARON DRUX NAST to see the Quadjumper.

REY
There's a Quadjumper in a landing
field outside of Black Spire
Outpost. Lot Echo-25.

BARON DRUX NAST
Black Spire Outpost is controlled
by the First Order. How can I
trust you not to try and turn me
in?

VI MORADI
Drux...

BARON DRUX NAST looks over to VI MORADI. VI MORADI shows him her Resistance ring (similar to Rose Tico's Ring in the Last Jedi).

VI MORADI (CONT'D)
We're with the Resistance. If
you're looking for someone to
help you escape from the First
Order, we're your best bet.

BARON DRUX NAST
Ah, the truth finally reveals
itself. My droids chose their
hostage well I see.

REY tosses BARON DRUX NAST a C1 personal comlink. He catches it.

REY
When we are ready to leave we
will contact you.

BARON DRUX NAST
What's your name?

REY
Rey.

BARON DRUX NAST
Rey what? No last name?

REY shakes her head.

BARON DRUX NAST (CONT'D)
Secretive. Okay Rey I am Baron
Drux Nast. How do I know you
won't leave without me?

REY thinks for a second. She then takes off her staff and places it at her feet.

REY
Because I'll want this back.

BARON DRUX NAST sees the look in REY's eyes, he knows he can trust her. BARON DRUX NAST presses a button on his wrist and VI MORADI is released. FINN puts his rifle on his back. VI MORADI walks over to REY.

BARON DRUX NAST
You have a deal Rey.

FINN
Thank you.

FINN walks towards REY and VI MORADI

BARON DRUX NAST
What for?

FINN turns to face BARON DRUX NAST.

FINN
For making the right choice.

BARON DRUX NAST watches as the three walk away.

Part 2:

A Jedi’s Path

EXT. RIVER COMMUNITY OF PEKA (BATUU) - DAY

REY, FINN, and VI MORADI are standing outside their V-35 Landspeeder.

FINN
When you're not dealing with the
First Order and droid blockades,

BEAUMONT KIN approaches carrying a suitcase and a book.

BEAUMONT KIN
No no, I'm here. Vi Moradi...

BEAUMONT KIN walks up to VI MORADI and the two hug.

BEAUMONT KIN (CONT'D)
...It's good to see you.

VI MORADI
You as well Beaumont.

BEAUMONT KIN shakes both REY and FINN's hands. He's excited to meet them.

BEAUMONT KIN
Professor Beaumont Kin,
archaeologist and historian.

FINN
Finn.

REY
I'm Rey.

BEAUMONT KIN
Oh first name basis? Nice.

REY
It's nice to meet you Beaumont.

BEAUMONT KIN
Likewise. You're with the
Resistance?

FINN
We are.

REY
Leia sent us.

BEAUMONT KIN
The famous General? This must be
important. Glad I came prepared.

BEAUMONT KIN raises his suitcase so everyone can see it.

VI MORADI
How is Peka?

BEAUMONT KIN
The people are managing but
Attsmun's blockades have put a
real stranglehold on the town.
Businesses that rely on imports
and exports are starting to hurt.

VI MORADI
We may have a plan for that.

REY
I spoke with Baron Drux Nast, and
we reached an agreement.

VI MORADI
We should be able to reach the
temple now with no interruptions.

BEAUMONT KIN
That's good news for us but
better for these people. It's
hard watching them struggle.

VI MORADI
The First Order are no better,
but getting Attsmun's droids off
world could be a good start at
getting Batuu back to normal.

BEAUMONT KIN
I hope one day I can see that.
Which one of you was looking to
get in the temple?

REY
Both of us.

REY points to herself and FINN.

BEAUMONT KIN
Why?

REY
I'm looking to find a kyber
crystal.

BEAUMONT KIN
Building a lightsaber?

REY nods.

REY
I am.

BEAUMONT KIN becomes really excited?

BEAUMONT KIN
Are you a Jedi then?

REY
Not yet, but I'm trying to be.

BEAUMONT KIN
I never met one before, but I
studied them for years. It's a
fascinating religion. How are you
with the force, are you able to
control it?

REY
I think so.

BEAUMONT KIN
Good, good, that's good. The
force is with us. Where is your
speeder?

VI MORADI
You... are... looking at it.

VI MORADI steps out of the way so BEAUMONT KIN can get a good look at their semi-destroyed landspeeder.

BEAUMONT KIN
This?

VI MORADI
Yep.

BEAUMONT KIN
And it runs?

VI MORADI
All the way here.

BEAUMONT KIN
And you drove it?

REY
I did.

BEAUMONT KIN
The force must be strong with
you. We'll need to travel far
into the wildlands, we'll arriveat the temple by sunset. Will
this be able to make it?

VI MORADI
At this point it can make it
through anything.

REY
I can get us there.

BEAUMONT KIN
Good, good.

BEAUMONT KIN hands REY his book.

BEAUMONT KIN (CONT'D)
This is a map to the temple. This
town, Peka, is marked as the
starting point in blue, the
temple is marked as the finishing
point in red.

BEAUMONT puts his suitcase in the landspeeder and hops in. FINN, REY, and VI MORADI follow. They drive off.

CUT TO:

EXT. JUNGLE TERRAIN (BATUU) - DAY

Our heroes are riding their V-35 Landspeeder through jungle terrain. REY is driving, VI MORADI is riding shotgun, and BEAUMONT KIN is in the back seat. FINN is standing in the air port looking ahead.

FINN
Beaumont, what am I looking for?

BEAUMONT KIN
A statue, no taller than a wampa,
it will be of a great Jedi
Knight.

FINN
I'm not sure what a wampa looks
like, but I'll try my best.

BEAUMONT KIN
Rey, if you like Jedi history
you're going to be fascinated
with this temple.

FINN
You should see the books she
spends all day reading.

BEAUMONT KIN
I'd like to.

REY
Have you been inside?

BEAUMONT KIN
Actually I've only seen it in
paintings, but the stories I hear
are fascinating.

REY
I heard there were a lot of Jedi
Temples on Batuu. What makes this
one so important?

BEAUMONT KIN
This temple has been lost, since
the Jedi disappeared, no one has
been able to find it in a long
time.

REY
So everything inside could be
untouched?

BEAUMONT KIN
That's what I hope. Its library
should be full of knowledge and
artifacts, Jedi and Sith.

FINN
Sith artifacts?

REY
What do you know about them?

BEAUMONT KIN
I've heard many different
stories, each are a little
different than the last, about an
ancient Sith Runestone.

REY
I've read many things about the
Sith but my master hasn't told me
much about them.

BEAUMONT KIN
I've studied the Sith and Jedi
for years, I even visited
Moraband.

REY
The home of the Sith?

BEAUMONT KIN
That's right. I also have also
visited Devaron and studied the
Jedi. Studying them is what
brought me here. The Jedi managed
to keep peace on Batuu for
hundreds of years.

VI MORADI
This planet could sure use the
Jedi Knights right now.

BEAUMONT KIN
For now we have one. Or at least
we will soon.

BEAUMONT KIN puts his hand on REY's shoulder and smiles.

REY
I'm reading everything I can but
I still have much to learn.
There's a great trial I need to
face, but I'm not sure what it
is.

Through the trees FINN sees a statue of High Republic Jedi, Ady Sun'Zee. She is holding her lightsaber. The statue stands in front of a violently flowing river.

FINN
There, the statue, I see it.

BEAUMONT KIN
We're getting close. Rey when you
get to the river, pull over, from
there we go by foot.

REY
Isn't crossing a river on foot
going to be dangerous.

BEAUMONT KIN
For a force wielder, hardly. The
rest of us should be fine too,
I've come prepared.

VI MORADI
Prepared how?

BEAUMONT KIN
You'll see.

The landspeeder makes it to the river and pulls over. The river is about sixty feet wide and the current is very strong. There is a line of large rocks going across the river, each rock sticks out about one foot above the water level and are about five feet apart from one another.

Across the river is a plateau that stands about twenty feet higher than the river. A set of stairs zig-zag up the plateau and line up with the line of large rocks. REY, FINN, VI MORADI, AND BEAUMONT KIN get out of the landspeeder and inspect the river. Our protagonists are looking at the river, examining it.

REY
We have to find another way
around, this is too dangerous.

VI MORADI
I second that.

BEAUMONT KIN
There is no other way around,
this river surrounds the temple,
and those stairs are the only way
up.

REY kneels down and touches the ground. She closes her eyes.

FINN
The Jedi never built a bridge?

REY
No... The current wasn't always
this strong, but when it was,
Jedi Padawans would jump across
the rocks.

BEAUMONT KIN opens his suitcase and starts going through it.

FINN
So I guess we just jump from one
rock to the next... like the
Jedi.

VI MORADI
One slip and the current takes
us. I don't think I want to take
that risk.

BEAUMONT KIN
Which is why I am always
prepared.

BEAUMONT KIN pulls out an ascension cable and shoots it into the staircase across the river. BEAUMONT KIN then ties it to a tree on their side of the river. The cable is now running about three feet above the rocks and can be held on to while they all cross.

BEAUMONT KIN (CONT'D)
Don't worry Vi. This handrail
should help.

FINN
Nice shot.

REY
Thank you Beaumont.

VI MORADI looks at the flowing river still nervous.

VI MORADI
Yeah, thanks Beaumont.

BEAUMONT KIN attaches a small motor to his suitcase and attaches it to the cable. The suitcase then runs across the cable to the other side of the river where it stops.

BEAUMONT KIN
The rest of us will have to go by
foot.

VI MORADI
Great...

REY goes first across the river, then VI MORADI, then FINN, then BEAUMONT KIN goes last. VI MORADI slips a little but catches herself and stays on.

VI MORADI (CONT'D)
I can do this, I can do this.

REY
You'll be fine Vi, we're almost
across.

FINN
Just keep looking forward Vi.
Always have a tight grip on the
rope and take your time.

VI MORADI
Got it, I just needed some self
encouragement is all.

REY makes it across the river, next VI MORADI does. The two women stand on the staircase. FINN stops moving and turns around to look at BEAUMONT KIN, something feels off to him.

FINN
You okay there Beaumont?

BEAUMONT KIN
Fine as ever.

BEAUMONT KIN steps onto the next rock, the rock rolls out from underneath him and his legs fall into the current.

FINN
Beaumont!

BEAUMONT KIN holds on to the cable for dear life. FINN leans as close to BEAUMONT KIN as he can and extends his hand.

FINN (CONT'D)
Take my hand!

BEAUMONT KIN
I can't!

BEAUMONT KIN holds on to the cable with both hands for dear life. REY reaches out her arm and uses the force to lift BEAUMONT KIN out of the water. BEAUMONT KIN grabs FINN's hand and, with REY's help, FINN pulls him on to his rock.

BEAUMONT KIN
Was... was that the force? That
was incredible. Thank you Rey,
thank you Finn.

REY doesn't respond, she just breathes heavy. VI MORADI also looks at REY in amazement.

FINN
Don't mention it.

BEAUMONT KIN and FINN make it to REY and VI MORADI on the other side of the river. VI MORADI helps BEAUMONT KIN onto the staircase.

VI MORADI
Are you okay?

BEAUMONT KIN
I'm soaked from the waste down,
but I'll be fine. The temple is
just up these steps, and passed
some trees.

BEAUMONT KIN grabs his suitcase and the four begin walking up the steps.

CUT TO:

EXT. LOST JEDI TEMPLE (BATUU) - EVENING

The temple has a wide cylinder shape which is about fifty feet high. Resting on top of the temple is a large saucer shaped roof. The roof itself is golden, however trees and vines now grow over it. A large tree grows in the center of it. The Jedi temple is surrounded by tall rock spires evenly spaced out. Surrounding the tall rock spires are trees, surrounding the trees is the river our heroes have crossed. REY, FINN, VI MORADI, and BEAUMONT KIN emerge from the trees and see the large Secret Jedi Temple. REY stares in amazement.

REY
It's beautiful. How do we get
inside?

BEAUMONT KIN
According to my research, the
Jedi would use the force to open
the door to the temple.

VI MORADI
The force... sounds vague enough.

BEAUMONT KIN
But I've entered places like this
before. Usually, there's a less
"magical" way to get in.

At that moment six large gray braga bears come from around the temple and walk towards our heroes slowly, growling every step of the way. REY pulls out her NN-14 blaster pistol to defend herself, FINN pulls out his EL-16 Blaster Rifle, and VI MORADI pulls out both of her batons. BEAUMONT stands behind FINN and VI MORADI, clutching his suitcase.

VI MORADI
You said magical?

FINN (CONT'D)
What are these things?

VI MORADI
They look like braga bears but
they're not supposed to be that
color.

FINN
Are they dangerous?

VI MORADI
From what I've heard, yes.

BEAUMONT KIN
Only if you go near their cubs.

FINN
That's reassuring.

As they get closer, REY and the lead braga bear lock eyes with one another as if they were having a conversation without words.

REY
They're not going to hurt us.
They want to help. Finn...

REY holsters her pistol and gestures at FINN to lower his rifle. FINN does. The lead braga bear walks up to REY slowly. VI MORADI is still tense and BEAUMONT KIN is still scared. FINN is just watching, waiting to see what happens next. The braga bear looks REY in her eyes and sniffs her. REY puts her hand on the bear, gently petting it. The braga bears all turn around and guide REY to the temple door.

REY (CONT'D)
They guard this temple.

BEAUMONT KIN
Interesting.

VI MORADI
Are they friendly?

REY
Yes.

The braga bears walk closely with REY, guiding her. One bear, the smallest one, sniffs FINN and walks closely with him, guiding him as well. The bears lead REY up to a wall. REY stares at it for a moment before placing her hand on it. REY closes her eyes and after a few moments, she opens the door to the temple. FINN walks up to her.

FINN
Are you ready?

REY
There's something in this temple
it's calling me.

BEAUMONT KIN
Just one second everyone.

BEAUMONT KIN goes through his suitcase and pulls out an old BD unit. BEAUMONT KIN pulls a small data card out of the droid and replaces it with a new one before turning it on. BEAUMONT KIN puts the old data card in a tiny box within the suitcase.

BEAUMONT KIN (CONT'D)
This is BD-81. He's mapped out
all the other temples on Batuu.
Based on that knowledge he's put
together a map of what the inside
of this one could be like. It's
most likely seventy to seventy
five percent accurate but it will
improve as we walk around. And
Rey...

BEAUMONT KIN pulls out a shoulder bag and tosses it to REY.

BEAUMONT KIN (CONT'D)
In case you see something you
like. Sorry Finn, I can only fit
so many things in here.

BEAUMONT KIN puts on his own shoulder bag.

FINN
Yeah... it's no problem... I
didn't want any cool Jedi stuff
from the ancient temple anyway.

BD-81 jumps onto FINN's back (the same way BD-1 jumps onto Cal Kestis's back in the Star Wars Jedi video games).

FINN (CONT'D)
Oh, hey little guy. Does he
normally do this?

BEAUMONT KIN
He must like you... that or your
the tallest and he wants to be
able to see better.

FINN
I'll take it as a compliment.

The five enter the temple and the door closes behind them.

CUT TO:

INT. LOST JEDI TEMPLE (BATUU) - EVENING

REY and FINN walk through the temple side by side. BD-81 is scanning everything along the way. They come across a four way intersection with three different halls they can walk down.

VI MORADI
Okay, which way?

BD-81
Be-beep.

BEAUMONT KIN
Based on the other temples we've
scanned, BD-81 recommends we go
left.

FINN
Okay then, left it is.

REY
We should go straight.

VI MORADI
Why's that?

REY
A feeling, I'm being called this
way. The force... it's strong in
this place.

FINN
Then that's the way we go.

BD-81
Beep beep?

BEAUMONT KIN
Trust her eighty-one, she's more
of an expert than either of us.

The five continue to go straight.

CUT TO:

INT. LOST JEDI TEMPLE LIBRARY (BATUU) - EVENING

The library is in a circular room and is sixty feet wide. There are four bookshelves that are at least twenty feet high and are fifteen feet wide. The bookshelves are even spaced and perpendicular to the walls of the library. In between the bookshelves are statues of High Republic Jedi Masters. REY, FINN, BD-81, VI MORADI, and BEAUMONT KIN enter.

REY
It's beautiful. I've never been
in a place like this.

BEAUMONT KIN
It is truly wonderful.

REY begins rubbing her hand across the holobooks. She randomly pulls out the holobooks and begins skimming through them. VI MORADI walks around, she looks at the statues of former Jedi.

FINN
What could be in all these books?

REY
Information on planets, people,
the force, past Jedi, lessons
from the past.

BEAUMONT KIN
I wish I had a bigger bag.

BEAUMONT KIN begins selecting specific holobooks and placing them in his shoulder bag. REY reads out of the holobook she grabbed.

REY
Only when your eyes are shut can
you truly see.

FINN walks up to a bust of a High Republic Jedi. He hears a whisper.

WHISPER
Stand still...

FINN looks around confused. He stares at BD-81.

BD-81
Be-boop?

BEAUMONT KIN walks over to REY. BEAUMONT KIN reaches for a book on the shelf. REY notices and is alarmed.

REY
Wait, no!

BEAUMONT KIN pulls a holobook off a shelf. This triggers two of the tall bookshelves, opposite of one another, to slide to the center of the room and connect. The two bookshelves, collectively thirty feet wide, then rotate until they form a sixty foot wall with the other two bookshelves that didn't slide. The library is now split in half. BEAUMONT KIN and REY on one side, FINN, VI MORADI, and BD-81 on the other.

REY (CONT'D)
Finn, Vi!

BEAUMONT KIN
Eighty-one!

FINN
We're here Rey, we're fine!

VI MORADI
What just happened?

BEAUMONT KIN
I'm not sure I must have
triggered something.

VI MORADI

What did you do?

BEAUMONT KIN
I don't know, I pulled a
holobook...

The world goes quiet for REY. She sees a door open behind her and BEAUMONT KIN. The door leads to a pitch black hallway, she hears vague whispers calling her to the hallway. REY begins walking.

WHISPERS
Rey... Rey...

BEAUMONT KIN notices REY walking towards the hallway. He cannot hear the whispers.

BEAUMONT KIN
Rey where are you going you can't
see?

FINN
What is she doing?!

BEAUMONT KIN
I'm not sure, but I'm going to
follow her.

FINN
Alright we'll try to get these
book shelves moved back to
normal.

VI MORADI
What do we do?

FINN
I don't know, start pulling.

FINN and VI MORADI begin pulling different holobooks off of the shelves. REY walks down the hallway, though she can't see, her eyes stay open. BEAUMONT KIN follows behind, keeping his hand on a wall.

CUT TO:

INT. LOST JEDI TEMPLE TRAINING ROOM (BATUU) - EVENING

REY reaches the end of the hallway and enters a Jedi Training Room. All the lights in the room and the hallway turn on.

CUT TO:

INT. LOST JEDI TEMPLE LIBRARY (BATUU) - EVENING

FINN and VI MORADI are pulling holobooks off of the shelves when the lights flicker and then become brighter.

VI MORADI
Which book did that?

CUT TO:

INT. LOST JEDI TEMPLE TRAINING ROOM (BATUU) - EVENING

BEAUMONT KIN stands in the doorway of the room. REY begins looking around, dragging her fingertips across the walls. The room has two doors and on one wall is a shelf with five lightsabers. Standing on the other wall are three Jedi Training Droids, they are charging.

BEAUMONT KIN
Rey...

BEAUMONT KIN takes it all in.

REY
It's a training room, many Jedi
Padawans have trained here
before.

BEAUMONT KIN
My droid would be loving this
right now.

REY picks up a lightsaber, she tries to ignite it, but it wont turn on. She picks up another, tries to ignite it, and the same thing happens.

BEAUMONT KIN (CONT'D)
Are those...?

REY
Lightsabers, but somethings
wrong, these don't seem to be
working.

BEAUMONT KIN
Maybe there's a special way of
turning them on?

REY
Maybe, but I don't think that's
what's wrong.

REY picks up a lightsaber with a long hilt (about 16 inches long). She ignites it. Staring at the saber's green blade, she smiles and lets out a sigh of relief.

BEAUMONT KIN
It's beautiful.

After five seconds the lightsaber shuts off on its own and REY is unable to turn it back on. Suddenly three Jedi Training Droids (from the Jedi Temple DLC in Forced Unleashed) activate, they are brandishing protosabers that are built into their hands and attached to a pack on their backs. The door closes in front of BEAUMONT KIN keeping him out of the room, the other door closes as well.

BEAUMONT KIN (O.S)
Rey!

REY runs to the door trying to open it.

REY
Beaumont I can't get the door
open. Can you?

BEAUMONT KIN (O.S)
I'll try.

JEDI TRAINING DROID
Welcome Padawan, prepare for
combat training. Difficulty:
Maximum.

REY
Great...

All three Jedi Training Droids ignite their protosabers. REY turns around and faces them, she is nervous. REY pulls out her blaster and shoots at the droid. The first three bolts bounce right off of the Jedi Training Droid's armor. She shoots a fourth time but the Jedi Training Droid deflects it, hitting her blaster pistol out of her hand. REY tries igniting her lightsaber again. It turns on. REY blocks a strike from one of the Jedi Training Droids and their weapons lock together when suddenly, REY's lightsaber turns back off and she has to dodge the Jedi Training Droid's attack.

REY finds herself in a fight with three Jedi Training Droids on maximum difficulty with a lightsaber that seemingly works at random. REY is dodging strike after strike for her life. At first REY struggles timing her attacks when the blade is ignited. The Jedi Training Droids either dodge or block REY's attacks. Most of the time REY's saber turns off right before she is about to land a significant strike, or it won't turn on at all. REY takes a step back and focuses, she is trying to sense when her lightsaber will work next and for how long. She does. She takes down one Jedi Training Droid and her lightsaber shuts off again.

REY continues dodging until she ignites her saber once more and lands a strike against another droid, taking it out of the fight. REY grips the last Jedi Training Droid with the force and holds it until she can get her lightsaber to ignite again. REY presses the button to turn it on multiple times, she lightly hits it against a wall twice and then it ignites. REY slashes right through the last droid. She is exhausted from the battle.

JEDI TRAINING DROID
Congratulations Padawan, an
excellent job! You will be ready
for the trials soon eno...

The droid shuts down and both doors open. BEAUMONT KIN enters the room, the first thing he notices are the destroyed Jedi Training Droids.

BEAUMONT KIN
Impressive.

REY
Thanks. These lightsabers are not
in good condition, but I could
use them for parts.

REY grabs all five of the lightsabers and places them in her bag.

CUT TO:

INT. LOST JEDI TEMPLE LIBRARY (BATUU) - NIGHT

VI MORADI and FINN are sitting down in the library, they've pulled every holobook they could and the shelf wall still separates them from BEAUMONT KIN and REY. They are both exhausted.

FINN
Well that's it. Every book.

VI MORADI
I don't get this place. We've
pulled every book we could pull
and still nothing.

FINN
I didn't see myself doing this
when Leia told me to come here.

VI MORADI
Welcome to the Resistance.

FINN
Thanks for having me.

VI MORADI
So what brought you to it?

FINN
Something. A feeling maybe, I'm
not sure. I saw what the First
Order was doing... even when they
knew it was wrong. Next thing I
knew I was helping the Resistance
blow up Starkiller Base and
hiding out on Crait, being
rescued by Luke Skywalker.

VI MORADI
So the stories are true? One man
facing down the entire First
Order?

FINN
Yeah it is true, all of it.

VI MORADI
People like that... give me hope.
I wish I could have seen it.

For a moment FINN and VI MORADI sit in silence. Next they hear the entrance of the Temple opening. As it opens FINN hears the same whisper in his head.

WHISPER
Protect her... Finn.

VI MORADI
What was that?

FINN
You heard that too?

VI MORADI
Yeah the door. It opened, but
that's supposed to be impossible,
Beaumont said the door can only
be opened with...

FINN
...the force.

CUT TO:

INT. LOST JEDI TEMPLE ENTRANCE (BATUU) - NIGHT

The door to the temple opens, revealing two men dressed in all black wearing black masks. One is wielding a rifle, his name is KURUK. The other is wielding a war club, his name is USHAR. They are part of Knights of Ren.

USHAR
Those braga bears put up quite a
fight. I've never faced them
before.

KURUK
Are you shaken up by them?

USHAR
Less than you. I've killed many a
large beast before.

KURUK
Let's just focus. The Ren wants
us to find the runestone.

USHAR
If it even exists, and if it
does, it could be in any one of
these temples.

KURUK
This is the one temple we haven't
searched, if it isn't here, it's
gone.

USHAR
This was the most difficult
temple to enter. It took our use
of the shadow.

KURUK
Yes, so how did someone else get
in?

The two look down and see BEAUMONT KIN's still wet footprints.

USHAR
Jedi.

KURUK
I thought the Ren destroyed the
last one?

USHAR
Guess he was wrong.

KURUK puts his finger in the water droplets BEAUMONT KIN has left. KURUK rubs the water between his index finger and his thumb.

KURUK
Water. Someone came through here
recently... They're still here. I
sense a great presence.

USHAR
I sense it too.

CUT TO:

INT. LOST JEDI TEMPLE HALLWAY (BATUU) - NIGHT

REY and BEAUMONT KIN have left the training room and are walking through the halls. REY stops walking. She senses USHAR and KURUK.

REY
Something's wrong.

BEAUMONT KIN's holoprojector receives a call from FINN and VI MORADI.

FINN
Rey, someone else is in the
temple and I don't think they're
friendly.

REY
Finn how...

FINN
They used the force. Vi and I
can't separate these bookshelves.
You guys are stuck back there.

REY
We'll find our way back, but you
guys have to get back to the
entrance. I'll meet you there and
let everyone out.

FINN
Rey, do you know who this guy is?

CUT TO:

INT. LOST JEDI TEMPLE ENTRANCE (BATUU) - NIGHT

USHAR and KURUK stand at the entrance. USHAR's voice echoes through the halls so everyone inside can hear him.

USHAR
Jedi! We know you are in here. If
you seek power, it is here. And
that power will be hunting you
down! You can run... you can
hide... but you are better off
begging for mercy! Which you may
not get!

CUT TO:

INT. LOST JEDI TEMPLE LIBRARY (BATUU) - NIGHT

FINN, BD-81, and VI MORADI are looking at REY through the holoprojector.

REY
You have to go.

VI MORADI shuts off her holoprojector, and her, FINN, and BD 81 run out of the library.

Part 3:

Temple Knights

INT. LOST JEDI TEMPLE DORMITORY (BATUU) - NIGHT

We open on a shot of KURUK's feet as he is walking down a hallway, his steps dead silent. The silence is interrupted by the loud metallic thud of USHAR hitting his war club on the ground. USHAR walks with KURUK, letting his club scrape against the floor. They pass several bedrooms all with open doors. They glance into each room as they continue to walk down the hall. USHAR begins to mettle with our heroes.

USHAR
Come heeeeere Jedi. I promise you
a quick end. The least you can do
is save everyone's time.

KURUK
The Jedi will hear you coming.

USHAR
I want to give them a fair
chance.

KURUK
I prefer a more stealth approach.

USHAR
That's no fun. Come out Jedi!
Defend your temple!

KURUK and USHAR glance into a room and keep walking.

CUT TO:

FINN and VI MORADI are hiding in the room on either side of the open doorway. BD-81 stands on FINN's shoulders. FINN and VI MORADI whisper to each other.

FINN
Who are these guys?

VI MORADI
I was gonna ask you.

FINN
Whoever they are they can use the
force.

VI MORADI
But not Jedi?

FINN
Doesn't look like it. Eighty-one.

BD-81
Boop?

FINN
How's your map coming along? Do
you think you can get us out of
here?

BD-81
Be-boop boop beep be-beep.

FINN doesn't reply, VI MORADI looks at FINN confused.

FINN
I don't know binary yet, I
thought he'd nod or something.

VI MORADI
He says he probably can but he's
not sure.

FINN
That's good enough for me, give
me directions.

VI MORADI
What about Rey and Beaumont? If
she's not at the door...

FINN
She'll be there, and we gotta get
there too. Lead the way buddy.

BD-81
Beep beep.

FINN
Did he say go right?

VI MORADI
Yeah.

FINN
Good, I'm learning.

The three exit the room and go right. They take 3 steps down the hall before they hear KURUK's blaster rifle shooting the ceiling.

USHAR
Jedi!

VI MORADI and FINN turn around slowly. USHAR and KURUK are standing about twenty feet away from them.

USHAR (CONT'D)
It's a nice temple you got here.

FINN
Who are you?

USHAR
I am Ushar, and this is Kuruk. We
are Knights of Ren and if you
want mercy, you should beg now.

FINN
Look, we don't want any trouble.

USHAR
Neither do we. Yet here you are.

KURUK
The Runestone, have you found it?

FINN
We don't know what that is.

USHAR
That, we find hard to believe.
It's a Sith relic, very powerful,
it is known to have seduced many
Jedi in the past.

VI MORADI is nervous, but thinks for a moment, she remembers BARON DRUX NAST telling her Yasto Attsmun was looking for a "powerful relic".

VI MORADI
I know who has it.

USHAR
Is that so?

FINN and BD-81 look at her confused.

VI MORADI
Baron Yasto Attsmun, I know he
was looking for it.

USHAR
And then he died, never
confirming that he had it, and
nobody ever saw him with it.

KURUK
We found his body in a Jedi
Temple, said to be lost like this
one.

USHAR
With no relic in sight. Got any
other ideas?

CUT TO:

INT. LOST JEDI TEMPLE MEMORIAL HALLS (BATUU) - NIGHT

REY and BEAUMONT KIN are moving through their own hallway, looking into doorways trying to find a way to get over to FINN and VI MORADI. REY is clearly anxious, she wants to save her companions. However, she is moving cautiously in case she's about to run into whatever dark presence has entered the temple.

REY
Do you know if this way is the
way back to the entrance?

BEAUMONT KIN
Without my droid, your guess is
as good as mine. Is the force
telling you anything?

REY
Nothing now. We need to get back
to that entrance. Vi, Finn, your
droid, they could all be in
danger. I wish we could just cut
through these walls and get over
to them.

BEAUMONT KIN
Is that lightsaber working now?

REY ignites her lightsaber. After five seconds it shuts off. REY shakes the hilt around and hits it with her hand. It still wont turn back on.

REY
I'm not sure what's wrong with
it. I have never read anything
about this. I'm not sure what a
Jedi would do in this situation.

BEAUMONT KIN
For what it's worth, your Jedi
skills impress me Rey. I wish I
could have watched you dispose of
those training droids.

REY
It wasn't that impressive.

BEAUMONT KIN
What made you start your Jedi
training?

REY calms down, she stops being so anxious.

REY
I always had this feeling inside
me.

BEAUMONT KIN
The force?

REY
Yes, but at the time I didn't
know what it was. And then I felt
it growing stronger and stronger.
I was afraid and I didn't know
what to do with it.

BEAUMONT KIN
And the Jedi religion helped you?

REY
Yes.

REY and BEAUMONT KIN walk into a large room full of life size stone statues of former Jedi, similar to the great terracotta army statues.

REY
These statues, they're all of
Jedi Knights.

BEAUMONT KIN
They look at least a few hundred
years old. The other temples on
Batuu don't have anything like
this. I wish I had my droid right
now. He could scan all this and
add to the data cards in my
suitcase.

REY
Data cards?

BEAUMONT KIN
It's where I store all the
information BD-81 has scanned
over the years. They're my most
prized possession.

BEAUMONT KIN rubs his hand on a statue. REY walks slowly through the room looking up and down at all the Jedi that have come before her.

REY
There are so many.

BEAUMONT KIN (CONT'D)
They were put up during the High
Republic era. These people must
have been legendary.

REY looks around and can't find a door. She grows worried

REY
Is there a door in here?

BEAUMONT KIN looks around.

BEAUMONT KIN
I'm not seeing one.

REY
Have we been going the wrong way?
The library is closed behind us
how are we supposed to get out of
here? Are Finn and Vi even safe?

BEAUMONT KIN pulls out his holoprojecter.

BEAUMONT KIN
Vi isn't answering.

In that moment of panic for REY, WHISPERS only she can hear fill the room.

WHISPERS
Rey... Rey...

REY looks around confused. She starts following the whispers.

WHISPERS (CONT'D)
Rey... Rey. There is no passion
there is serenity. Rey... Rey.

They lead her up to a mural carved into a wall. The mural is of a Jedi Master holding a holocron above her head, she is standing behind an altar. Surrounding the Master are younglings looking up to the holocron. REY rubs her hand across the mural. There is an empty slot in the altar on the mural.

WHISPERS (CONT'D)
There is no emotion Rey. Rey...
Rey... There is peace. Rey...

REY puts her lightsaber in the empty slot and the door opens revealing a circular bright blue Jedi classroom with stairs going up to an altar.

CUT TO:

INT. LOST JEDI TEMPLE DORMITORY (BATUU) - NIGHT VI MORADI, FINN, and BD-81 stand before USHAR and KURUK.

VI MORADI
I swear that's all I know.

USHAR
So it is. Would you like a ten
second head start in a chase, or
should we just strike you down
here?

FINN
Look, you don't have to do this.
The next decision is still yours.

USHAR
Of course it is, young Jedi. But
I won't be pulled from the
shadow. I'm enjoying our talk, I
truly am, but if you don't have
anything else to humor me with...

VI MORADI, FINN, and BD-81 are silent. BD-81 cowards behind FINN's shoulder. FINN grabs his blaster rifle ready to shoot. KURUK is unfazed. VI MORADI places her hands on both her batons.

USHAR (CONT'D)
I thought not. I'm going to count
to ten now. You should run.
One...

CUT TO:

INT. LOST JEDI TEMPLE CLASSROOM (BATUU) - NIGHT

REY takes her first step up the stairs. BEAUMONT KIN walks into the room behind her.

CUT TO:

INT. LOST JEDI TEMPLE DORMITORY (BATUU) - NIGHT USHAR continues to count.

USHAR (CONT'D)
Two...

CUT TO:

INT. LOST JEDI TEMPLE CLASSROOM (BATUU) - NIGHT

REY way makes it halfway up the stairs. BEAUMONT KIN walks around the classroom taking it all in.

CUT TO:

INT. LOST JEDI TEMPLE DORMITORY (BATUU) - NIGHT

USHAR continues to count. KURUK's hand is on his rifle, he is relaxed. Meanwhile, FINN is tense.

USHAR (CONT'D)
Three...

CUT TO:

INT. LOST JEDI TEMPLE CLASSROOM (BATUU) - NIGHT

REY reaches the top of the steps, making her way to the altar. On top of the altar is a Jedi Holocron. REY's eyes are immediately drawn to it. The whispers continue.

WHISPERS
Rey... Rey. There is no
ignorance. Rey...

BEAUMONT KIN walks up to the bottom of the steps and looks up at REY standing in front of the altar.

WHISPERS (CONT'D)
Rey. There is knowledge. Rey...

REY reaches her hand out towards the Jedi Holocron. CUT TO:

INT. LOST JEDI TEMPLE DORMITORY (BATUU) - NIGHT

USHAR continues to count. Both Knights of Ren are calm while VI MORADI and FINN are nervous.

USHAR
Nine...

CUT TO:

INT. LOST JEDI TEMPLE CLASSROOM (BATUU) - NIGHT

REY picks up the Jedi Holocron and stares at it in her hand. The lights become dim. The open mural that leads into the classroom closes, locking BEAUMONT KIN and REY inside the room. REY's eyes move away from the Jedi Holocron to the now closed entrance.

CUT TO:

INT. LOST JEDI TEMPLE DORMITORY (BATUU) - NIGHT USHAR finishes counting.

USHAR (CONT'D)
Ten...

As the last number leaves USHAR's mouth the lights in the Temple start to flicker. KURUK and FINN both raise their blasters and shoot at each other. At that moment an old and rusted blast door screeches as it drops from the ceiling in front of FINN. Once the door is two feet above the ground it starts closing slowly. FINN's blaster bolt hits the blast door, while KURUK's blaster bolt hits VI MORADI's leg. FINN looks at VI MORADI.

VI MORADI
Ahh!

FINN
We gotta go!

FINN puts VI MORADI's arm over his shoulder and the two take off running. USHAR slides under the blast door before it closes. KURUK, however, does not move. He looks down and thinks. He knows someone else is in the temple. KURUK walks off quietly in his own direction.

CUT TO:

INT. LOST JEDI TEMPLE DORMITORY (BATUU) - NIGHT

REY walks down the steps, holding the Jedi Holocron in her hand. BEAUMONT KIN walks over to her, gazing at the artifact.

REY
It's a Jedi Holocron. Used to
store information and the Jedi
teachings.

BEAUMONT KIN
I've heard the stories. It's said
that only the Jedi could use the
force to open it and see what's
inside. Can you open it?

REY looks at the Jedi Holocron in her hand. She focuses and tries to open it. She tries as hard as she can. The holocron won't open.

REY
We don't have time for this, I
need to get back to the entrance
and let Finn and Vi out.

CUT TO:

INT. LOST JEDI TEMPLE DORMITORY (BATUU) - NIGHT

VI MORADI is limping down the hallway with her arm around FINN for support. The two are moving as fast as they can, ducking underneath each blast door before they slowly close. BD-81 hops off FINN's back and starts running on foot. USHAR is still chasing after them.

FINN shoots his blaster rifle at USHAR one-handed to slow him down. USHAR dodges the shots however FINN is still keeping him at a distance.

FINN
Droid which way?!

BD-81
Beep beep!

FINN, BD-81, and VI MORADI make a hard right and crouch underneath a closing blast door. They get to the next blast door as it's closing, they are unable to slide underneath it. FINN turns around and shoots underneath the blast door behind them keeping USHAR from going underneath it.

USHAR jumps on to a wall, then proceeds to wall jump down the hallway to avoid the shots. When the blast door closes USHAR begins hitting it with his war club. The end of USHAR's war club is a kinetite generator. The war club hits like the bottom of Enfys Nest's electroripper staff (from Solo: A Star Wars Story).

USHAR
Jedi! I know you're in there.
This wall will not protect you
forever!

USHAR doesn't stop banging on the door. FINN lowers VI MORADI to the floor.

FINN
Are you alright?

VI MORADI
I'll live.

FINN takes off his jacket and rips the sleeve off of his undershirt. He ties it around VI MORADI's leg where she was shot.

VI MORADI (CONT'D)
Thank you Finn... for saving
me... again.

FINN
You would do the same for me.

VI MORADI
Some wouldn't. I'm glad you
joined Finn. The Resistance needs
more people like you. Leaders,
who only want to help others.

FINN takes a moment to really take in what VI MORADI is saying to him. It wasn't too long ago he was serving the First Order, and now he has the respect of a Resistance spy. BD-81 begins nudging at FINN trying to get his attention.

FINN
What's that little guy?

BD-81 shoots a stim canister into the air and FINN catches it. He looks at it for a moment.

BD-81
Beep boop be-beep.

FINN stabs the stim canister into VI MORADI's thigh.

VI MORADI
Gahh!

FINN
Does that feel better?

VI MORADI sighs in relief.

VI MORADI
Way better. Thank you droid.

BD-81
Boop boop.

VI MORADI
Right. Thank you BD-81.

FINN helps VI MORADI stand up. VI MORADI takes a few steps around. Keeping her hand on FINN's shoulder for support. She has a limp but she can walk on her own. She takes her hand off of FINN and takes a few more steps.

FINN
Can you move around okay?

VI MORADI
I'll be fine.

FINN
Eighty-one.

BD-81
Beep?

FINN
Do you think you can get these
blast doors open?

CUT TO:

INT. LOST JEDI TEMPLE CLASSROOM (BATUU) - NIGHT

BEAUMONT KIN and REY are still stuck in the classroom. BEAUMONT KIN walks up to the altar.

BEAUMONT KIN
It looks like... The students
enter the classroom and the door
closes once the teaching begins.
But, in this case, the holocron
must be the teacher.

REY
And the door closed right when I
removed it. Are you saying I need
to put the holocron back?

BEAUMONT KIN
I wouldn't be a good
archaeologist if I thought that.
The holocron was sitting on a
pressure plate. Remove the weight
on top and the door closes.

BEAUMONT KIN opens his suitcase and pulls out a small box of tools. He places the box on the pressure plate the Jedi Holocron was on. The plate dips down but the mural does not open.

BEAUMONT KIN (CONT'D)
That usually works...

REY
It's going to have to be the same
size and weight as the holocron.

BEAUMONT KIN puts his tools back in his suitcase. He continues looking through his suitcase for something that can replace the Holocron.

BEAUMONT KIN
Of course.

BEAUMONT KIN pulls out his box of data cards, his "most prized possession". He places the box on the pressure plate. The box is a perfect size but the door is still closed.

BEAUMONT KIN (CONT'D)
I was afraid it was going to fit.

REY
You'll have to take some out, the
door is still closed.

BEAUMONT KIN
At least I'm not losing all of
them. I just have to decide
what's most important.

BEAUMONT KIN begins pulling datacards one at a time out of his box until the box is the right weight and the entrance re-opens behind them. BEAUMONT KIN looks at the box of the remaining datacards. He is very sad to part with them.

BEAUMONT KIN (CONT'D)
Maybe I could have just one mo...

BEAUMONT KIN pulls another data card and the mural begins to close again.

BEAUMONT KIN (CONT'D)
No. Okay.

BEAUMONT KIN puts it back. REY and BEAUMONT KIN exit the classroom. REY puts the Jedi Holocron in her shoulder bag. She pulls her lightsaber out of the mural and it closes shut. BEAUMONT KIN takes one last look at his box of datacards, he is sad to part with them.

CUT TO:

INT. LOST JEDI TEMPLE DORMITORY (BATUU) - NIGHT

FINN, BD-81, and VI MORADI are trying to get the next blast door open. USHAR is still banging on the blast door behind them. After several hits the bastdoor has a slight dent in it.

USHAR (O.S.)
Enjoy your last moments Jedi,
I'll be in there soon!

VI MORADI
What did the Jedi do to him?

BD-81
Boop be-boop.

VI MORADI
It's opening?

Suddenly all the blast doors begin lifting slowly.

USHAR (O.S.)
I'm coming for you Jedi! Ha ha
ha.

FINN begins shooting at the opening of the blast door behind them. Keeping USHAR back.

FINN
Run!

BD-81 jumps onto VI MORADI's back as she limps under the blast door. FINN follows and another chase ensues. Once again FINN keeps shooting at USHAR to keep him back.

CUT TO:

INT. LOST JEDI TEMPLE TRAINING ROOM (BATUU) - NIGHT

VI MORADI, with BD-81 on her back, limps quickly into a large training room. FINN follows. At the other side of the large room is a closed door. VI MORADI and BD-81 try to get the door open. VI MORADI is pressing random buttons on the door panel while BD-81 is using his scomp link.

USHAR is getting closer, FINN continues shooting at him. USHAR enters the room. He pulls out his vibromachete and uses it to block FINN's blaster bolts. Suddenly FINN's blaster rifle jams. USHAR jabs FINN with the kinetite generator on his war club and FINN goes flying across the room. He lands and continues sliding up to VI MORADI and BD-81.

USHAR
Ha ha ha!

FINN
My blaster's jammed. I need a
weapon.

VI MORADI hands FINN her batons.

VI MORADI
Use these.

BD-81
Beep beep be-beep!

VI MORADI
I am!

FINN, slides his rifle to his back, takes the batons and stands against USHAR.

USHAR
Oh how precious. Tell me, would
you like this to be over quickly
or shall we put your skills to
the test?... Oh how I sense your
fear. Go on young fool, attack me
then.

FINN runs at USHAR wielding both batons. USHAR defends himself with his vibromachete and war club. USHAR blocks all of FINN's attacks.

USHAR (CONT'D)
Amateur at best.

USHAR elbows FINN in the face and force pushes him back a few feet.

USHAR (CONT'D)
You can do better at that. Give
me a challenge!

FINN attacks USHAR again. USHAR dodges all of FINN's attacks until FINN lands a shot on USHAR's knee and then hits his vibromachete out of his hand.

USHAR (CONT'D)
Ahhh!

USHAR hits FINN with his club again sending him flying back over to VI MORADI and BD-81.

VI MORADI
Finn, we almost have the door
open.

FINN is in pain, he struggles to talk with the wind knocked out of him.

FINN
Good to know.

USHAR drags his war club, scraping it, along the floor. He menacingly walks towards our heroes.

USHAR
Ha ha ha ha. You can put up more
of a fight than that, Jedi. Come
on, I need the tale of your death
to be entertaining for the other
knights, especially Kylo Ren!

FINN slowly stands up again, ready to fight.

USHAR (CONT'D)
Excellent.

At that moment BD-81 activates at least 20 Jedi Training Remotes.

JEDI TRAINING DROID (O.S.)
Welcome Padawan, prepare for
blaster defense training.
Difficulty: Maximum.

The Jedi Training Remotes come down from the ceiling and surround USHAR. USHAR force pulls his vibromachete back into his hand.

JEDI TRAINING DROID (O.S.) (CONT'D)
Begin.

The Jedi Training Remotes begin shooting at USHAR. BD-81 finally gets the door open. VI MORADI, FINN, AND BD-81 all exit.

USHAR is using his vibromachete for a mix of offense and defense while his war club is strictly offense. Every other strike against the remotes land for USHAR. When USHAR lands his war club on a remote it knocks back all the other remotes surrounding it. While USHAR's defense is okay he is still getting hit, this is fueling his rage.

CUT TO:

EXT. LOST JEDI TEMPLE (BATUU) - NIGHT

REY and BEAUMONT KIN exit the temple through the entrance. They leave the door open. They take a few steps outside and look around.

BEAUMONT KIN
Vi still isn't answering her
holoprojector.

REY
Finn! Finn!

REY listens for a response, she hears nothing. She looks around and sees none of the bears that guided her to the entrance in the first place.

REY (CONT'D)
The braga bears, where are they?

BEAUMONT KIN looks around to see if he can find any bears. The world becomes quiet for REY. She looks at BEAUMONT KIN. She force pushes him behind one of the tall rock spires in front of the temple. At that same moment a sniper bolt hits the temple behind them. Had REY not pushed BEAUMONT KIN, he would have been shot.

CUT TO:

KURUK is crouching in a tree looking at REY through his sniper scope. He fires.

CUT TO:

REY dodges KURUK's shot and she hides behind her own tall rock spire. BEAUMONT KIN is hyperventilating, hugging his suitcase for dear life.

REY (CONT'D)
Beaumont stay hidden.

BEAUMONT KIN continues hyperventilating. He cannot speak, he gives a thumbs up instead.

REY (CONT'D)
Did you see where that shot came
from?

BEAUMONT KIN catches his breath.

BEAUMONT KIN
No... I didn't.

REY pokes her head out of cover, looking at the treeline. KURUK shoots at REY. REY dodges.

REY
Okay, I think I know where he's
at.

REY pulls out her blaster pistol. REY jumps out of cover and shoots her blaster pistol three times at the area she thinks KURUK is at. She misses and KURUK sends a shot back at REY. REY tries to dodge but the bolt grazes her right arm. It's the same spot the training remote and Attsmun Industry Droid shot her just yesterday. She falls down behind cover.

BEAUMONT KIN
Rey!

REY slowly gets back up.

BEAUMONT KIN (CONT'D)
Rey, are you okay?

REY
Yes, I'm fine. I just... keep
getting hit in the same spot.
It's too dark, I can't see him...
I can't see...

REY remembers her teachings from LEIA ORGANA. "Clear your mind, focus, feel your surroundings, be mindful". She takes a deep breath and closes her eyes. REY pulls out her lightsaber and then walks out into the open.

CUT TO:

KURUK is visibly confused by what REY is doing, but then he realizes, this must be the Jedi who opened the entrance to the temple. KURUK silently moves from tree branch to tree branch. KURUK stops, crouches on a new tree branch, and lines up his scope on REY.

CUT TO:

REY is standing out in the open patiently. BEAUMONT KIN is speechless. FINN, VI MORADI, and BD-81 make their way to the open entrance of the Jedi Temple. FINN is happy to have made it out.

FINN
Rey!

REY lets nothing distract her. KURUK fires at REY. Right as the bolt is about to hit her, REY ignites the saber and deflects the sniper bolt right back at KURUK. The bolt hits the base of the branch KURUK is crouched on and he falls all the way to the ground.

KURUK
Ahhh!

REY opens her eyes. They all hear the sound of KURUK impacting the ground. REY's lightsaber, once again, shuts off on its own.

BEAUMONT KIN
Incredible.

FINN
How did you do that?

REY turns around and notices that FINN, VI MORADI, and BD-81 have exited the temple.

REY
Finn.

FINN and REY hug. BEAUMONT KIN stands up and looks at VI MORADI's injured leg.

BEAUMONT KIN
Vi, your leg.

VI MORADI
I'll be fine. BD-81 was a big
help.

BD-81
Beep boop!

BEAUMONT KIN
Well I'm glad someone got use out
of him.

FINN
Rey, those guys, they said they
were the Knights of Ren. They
serve Kylo Ren.

BEGIN FLASHBACK:

We see REY's vision she had of the Knights of Ren in "The Force Awakens". They are standing behind KYLO REN in the pouring rain, surrounded by a field of bodies.

END FLASHBACK:

Our protagonists still stand in front of the Jedi Temple.

REY
I've seen them before, all of
them. On Takodona, in my
vision... when I first held
Luke's lightsaber... I saw them.
Let's get back to the ship.

CUT TO:

EXT. LOST JEDI TEMPLE RIVER (BATUU) - NIGHT

REY, FINN, BD-81, VI MORADI, and BEAUMONT KIN walk down the stairs towards the river they crossed to get to the temple. VI MORADI has her arm around BEAUMONT KIN and BD-81 stands on FINN's shoulders. The current is still strong.

VI MORADI
I don't think I'll be able to
cross with my bad leg.

FINN
We'll help you.

The group gets closer, as they do the current begins to slow down.

BEAUMONT KIN
The river, it's slowing down.

The group stops moving and looks at the river. REY takes a step forward and the current slows down more. REY takes another step forward and it slows down again. REY pulls the Jedi Holocron out of her shoulder bag. The holocron is glowing.

REY with the holocron in her hand continues to walk towards the flowing river. By the time REY is standing where the water meets the land the current has totally stopped and the water is calm.

VI MORADI
I think I'm starting to like
having a Jedi around.

The four begin walking through the still waters of the river. BD-81 is on FINN's back. It should be noted that the water is only two and a half feet deep and it was the flow of the river that made it so dangerous.

CUT TO:

A top-down shot of the Jedi Temple. A river surrounds the temple forming a circle. There is no source of the water, nor is there any difference in elevation that can explain how the river's current was so strong in the first place.

CUT TO:

They all make it to the landspeeder, hop in, and then drive off away from the Jedi Temple.

CUT TO:

EXT. LOST JEDI TEMPLE (BATUU) - NIGHT

KURUK is still laying on the ground, he is alive but in pain. As he begins to get up USHAR approaches.

USHAR
Is this where you were while I
was hunting the Jedi.

KURUK
Those two weren't Jedi.

USHAR
Really? They were in the Jedi
Temple.

KURUK
The tracks we saw when we

escaped. I think it's about time
we alert the Ren.

KURUK
The Ren is busy. I've alerted the
First Order. They won't make it
off this planet.

CUT TO:

EXT. BLACK SPIRE OUTPOST (BATUU) - NIGHT

VI MORADI is driving the landspeeder. BEAUMONT KIN is sitting in the front. FINN is standing in the air port. REY is in the back seat with BD-81. BD-81 looks into REY's bag and sees the Jedi Holocron, this piques the droid's interest.

BD-81
Boop boop?

REY notices this and pulls the Jedi Holocron out of her bag. She lets BD-81 get a good look and the droid scans it. REY tries to open it again. REY closes her eyes and clears her mind. She focuses. Just one corner of the Jedi Holocron spins ever so slightly. REY opens her eyes and the holocron locks back up in front of her.

FINN looks up at the sky and sees that it is filled with smoke.

FINN
This doesn't look good. Something
is wrong.

As they get closer they are able to see the high and bright flames. Then they notice what is burning. It is REY and FINN's Quadjumper. The landspeeder pulls over. REY hops out of the landspeeder to get a better view.

VI MORADI
Was that your ship?

REY
It was.

FINN
We're going to need another way
out of here.

Part 4:

Trapped on Batuu

INT. BLACK SPIRE OUTPOST OGA'S CANTINA (BATUU) - MORNING

Our heroes, REY, FINN, VI MORADI, BEAUMONT KIN, and BD-81, are hiding out in Oga's Cantina. The cantina is currently closed and there are no other customers inside.

CUT TO:

VI MORADI is in the back kitchen laying down on a long table. The droid R-3X has replaced his hand with a medical tool and is working to patch up VI MORADI's leg. He is doing a rough job.

VI MORADI
Gah! Rex, I thought you said you
know how to heal people.

R-3X
I've healed plenty in my day,
though I consider my music to be
the best healer. Believe it or
not I've only patched up one
organic in my time.

VI MORADI
Oh I believe it. Ow!

R-3X
It was the Battle of Jakku and
the Empire was preparing a
devastating counter attack...

CUT TO:

BEAUMONT KIN, FINN, REY, and BD-81 are in the lounge. BEAUMONT KIN and FINN are sitting together at the bar, BEAUMONT KIN's suitcase is opened. BD-81 is standing on the counter next to him. BEAUMONT KIN pulls the datacard out of BD-81 and puts it in a device that allows him to go through the data.

BEAUMONT KIN
You did great work buddy.

BD-81
Bwoop-boop! Beep be-beep boop.

FINN
He said thank you?

BEAUMONT KIN
He did, he also said you were a
big help, and that you saved him.

FINN
Ah well, he saved me too.

BEAUMONT KIN goes through the data. FINN walks over to the door and pulls out his comlink. He talks into it.

FINN
Nast, come in Nast. It's Finn.
We're in Oga's Cantina, Black
Spire Outpost. We need to talk to
you in person. It's important.

REY is sitting in a booth all by herself. Her shoulder bag is on the table, as is her newly acquired Jedi Holocron. REY sits there, staring at the Holocron. She keeps trying to open it but is unsuccessful. FINN sees this and walks over to her.

FINN (CONT'D)
What do you got there Rey?

REY
It's a Jedi Holocron. It holds
information inside that only a
Jedi can access. And I can't get
it to open.

FINN
I'm sorry to hear that.

REY
I've read the books, I know how
to open a holocron. It just... it
isn't working for me and I don't
know why.

FINN
Well when we get it back to Leia,
maybe she'll be able to open it.

REY
Maybe, but it called to me Finn,
I swear it. Inside the temple,
voices were guiding me to the
holocron and I felt the force
pulling me towards it.

FINN hears this and reflects on the whispers he heard while he was inside the temple. At that moment the door to the cantina opens and BARON DRUX NAST and two of his Attsmun Industry Droids enter. BARON DRUX NAST is holding REY's staff. REY sees the Baron and puts the Jedi Holocron back in her shoulder bag.

BARON DRUX NAST
This is a nice place Finn, if I
wasn't being hunted by the First
Order I'd might stay and have a
drink or two.

FINN
Nast, we need to talk.

BARON DRUX NAST
About your Quadjumper, I saw the
flames last night.

FINN
That was our only ticket off this
planet. But you...

BARON DRUX NAST
Favor in five, four...

FINN
You said...

BARON DRUX NAST
Three, two...

FINN
You said you had ships. A lot of
ships right?

BARON DRUX NAST
And one. I have a healthy amount
ships yes, except...

FINN
They're all locked down by the
First Order.

BARON DRUX NAST
Exactly.

BARON DRUX NAST walks up to BEAUMONT KIN at the bar. BARON DRUX NAST extends his hand out to him.

BARON DRUX NAST (CONT'D)
Baron Drux Nast, Attsmun
Industries, nice to meet you.

BEAUMONT KIN
Beaumont Kin.

The two men shake hands.

BARON DRUX NAST
That's a nice droid you have
there Beaumont.

BEAUMONT KIN
Thanks.

FINN
But what if we can get your ships
free?

BARON DRUX NAST reaches behind the counter and grabs himself a drink.

BARON DRUX NAST
I can get my own ships free Finn,
but the moment we take off the
First Order defense cannons will
shoot us down before we make it
to the upper atmosphere. Rey...

BARON DRUX NAST walks over to REY holding her staff in his hand.

BARON DRUX NAST (CONT'D)
Thanks for letting me hold this,
it's an amazing back scratcher.

BARON DRUX NAST hands REY her staff back. She doesn't accept it back.

REY
We haven't gotten you off Batuu
yet.

BARON DRUX NAST
No... but I can see you tried
keeping your word. You are a
trustworthy person Rey.

REY takes back her staff.

CUT TO:

R-3X is finishing up both his story and patching up VI MORADI's leg.

R-3X

...and after all that, I was even
considered for a medal! All done.
How do you feel?

VI MORADI
Wow, I feel a lot better
actually.

VI MORADI gets off the table and walks around perfectly fine.

R-3X
Fortunately the laser bolt didn't
go through anything important.
You should be feeling good as

VI MORADI
I... I am! Thank you Rex!

My pleasure, Miss Moradi.

VI MORADI hands R-3X a bag of credits. The droid accepts.

CUT TO:

REY, BARON DRUX NAST, and FINN are discussing plans to get off world.

FINN
I can disable the shipyard's
cannons.

BARON DRUX NAST
I'm listening.

VI MORADI enters the room with R-3X. R-3X goes over to his DJ stand.

FINN
I helped destroy Starkiller Base,
this is nothing. I'll just need a
distraction to keep the First
Order garrison from swarming me.

BARON DRUX NAST
And I take it that's where my
droids come in handy?

FINN
Can they do it?

BARON DRUX NAST
I have enough droids to face off
against one First Order Garrison,
but if they call for
reinforcements your plan will
fold in on itself.

VI MORADI
The communications relay. It's on
that shipyard, I can disable it
and they won't be able to call
for reinforcements.

BARON DRUX NAST
Well you two must make the
Resistance proud. One last thing,
how are you going to get inside
this First Order facility and
make this plan happen.

They all sit and think for a moment.

VI MORADI
BD-81.

BD-81
Beep boop?

VI MORADI
Your scomp link, you used it in
the temple. Can you use it to get
Finn and I into the facility?

BD-81
Be-beep!

VI MORADI
That's good. Will you come with
us then?

BD-81
Bwoop-boop.

BARON DRUX NAST
Sounds like you got yourself
quite the team here.

REY
Drux, will you help us?

BARON DRUX NAST thinks for a moment.

BARON DRUX NAST
For the Resistance, I'll help in
anyway I can. But if my droids
are to distract the First Order,
I'll need to get them inside the
shipyard.

REY
I can get us and your droids
inside the shipyard.

BARON DRUX NAST
You can? How?

REY is hesitant to tell the Baron that she can wield the force.

FINN
The same way she got us here.

BARON DRUX NAST
Vague... I like it. I have a QL
2a speeder truck we can load with
cargo containers full of my
Attsmun Industry Droids.

FINN
It's settled then. Rey will get
your army into the shipyard while
Vi and I shut down their
communications and all of the
defense cannons.

REY
Beaumont.

BEAUMONT KIN
Yes.

REY
Would you like to come with us?
Off this planet, to our
Resistance base. We could really
use someone like you.

BEAUMONT KIN
I'd be a fool to say no Rey.

BD-81
Boob boop?

REY
Yes, you can come too.

BARON DRUX NAST
Touching. I'll bring the speeder
truck and with any luck, we'll be
off the planet by sunset.

CUT TO:

EXT. FIRST ORDER CONTROLLED SHIPYARD (BATUU) - DAY

The First Order Controlled Shipyard is a large landing zone with a thick wall surrounding it on all sides. Inside the walls are the barracks and other facilities. In each corner is a tower with a defense cannon that Finn needs to disable, on top. In the center of the back wall is a shorter tower with a large antenna with small satellites on top of it. This is the communications relay.

BEAUMONT KIN and REY are driving the QL-2a speeder truck. It is carrying a large storage container. BEAUMONT KIN is wearing a disguise, REY is wearing her poncho with the hood up. REY speaks into her comlink.

REY
We're almost at the shipyard.
Have you guys reached the
communication tower yet?

CUT TO:

Two First Order guards are standing by the back entrance to the communications tower, they're guarding it. Out of nowhere, a spinning baton flies at one of the guards, hitting them in the head. VI MORADI then runs up and strikes the same guard with her other baton taking them out. At the same time FINN shoots the other guard with his blaster rifle set to stun. FINN pulls out his comlink. BD-81 is riding on his shoulders.

FINN
Not yet, we just got to the back
door. Eighty-one is getting us in
now.

BD-81 uses his scomp link on the door.

REY (O.S.)
Hurry, we're closing in now.

BD-81 gets the door open.

FINN
We're in.

REY (O.S.)
Good luck Finn. Be safe.

FINN
You too Rey.

CUT TO:

REY and BEAUMONT KIN drive their truck speeder up to the entrance of the shipyard, they stop and a FIRST ORDER GATE GUARD approaches them. Three other First Order gate guards begin walking around their speeder, scanning their cargo. REY is nervous.

FIRST ORDER GATE GUARD
Let me see your manifest.

REY
What are your men doing?

FIRST ORDER GATE GUARD
Scanning your cargo for
contraband. Manifest please, now.

REY waves her hand, performing a mind trick.

REY
Tell your men they don't need to
scan our cargo.

FIRST ORDER GATE GUARD
I uhh... Men! You don't need to
scan their cargo!

REY
Go back inside.

FIRST ORDER GATE GUARD
Go back inside!

The other gate guards walk back inside the facility. The FIRST ORDER GATE GUARD begins shaking his head and rubbing his helmet. REY continues to wave her hand.

REY
You will open the gate and let us
through.

FIRST ORDER GATE GUARD
I will open the gate and let you
through.

The FIRST ORDER GATE GUARD opens the gate, allowing REY and BEAUMONT KIN to drive into the shipyard.

REY
That was close.

BEAUMONT KIN
I'm just glad I got to see a mind
trick in person.

CUT TO:

INT. SHIPYARD COMMUNICATIONS TOWER (BATUU) - DAY

FINN, VI MORADI, and BD-81 take the elevator up to the communications tower. There are about five First Order air traffic controllers inside as well as five First Order troopers. The air traffic controllers are unarmed. VI MORADI moves through the room taking out everyone she can with her batons. Anytime a trooper attempts to shoot her, FINN is quick to stun them.

VI MORADI
Once I start shutting down the
communications relay it will take
a moment to jam their coms.

FINN speaks into his com link.

FINN
Rey, Beaumont, we're in the
tower. Starting to jam their coms
now.

CUT TO:

EXT. FIRST ORDER CONTROLLED SHIPYARD (BATUU) - DAY

REY and BEAUMONT KIN park the speeder truck next to BARON DRUX NAST's ships. REY looks around and sees several First Order Troopers looking at her and BEAUMONT KIN with confusion.

REY
Hurry, please. People are getting
suspicious of us.

CUT TO:

INT. SHIPYARD COMMUNICATIONS TOWER (BATUU) - DAY VI MORADI is plugging a device into the terminal.

VI MORADI
We'll be ready in thirty seconds.

CUT TO:

EXT. FIRST ORDER CONTROLLED SHIPYARD (BATUU) - DAY

A group of five First Order Troopers walk up to REY and BEAUMONT KIN.

FIRST ORDER TROOPER #1
Hey! What's going on here?

BEAUMONT KIN
Oh um, just shipping out some
erm...

REY waves her hand.

REY
You don't need to know what we
are doing.

FIRST ORDER TROOPER #1
We don't need to know what you...

FIRST ORDER TROOPER #2
Hey! What did you do to him?

FIRST ORDER TROOPER snaps out of it. All five troopers aim their blasters at BEAUMONT KIN and REY.

FIRST ORDER TROOPER #2 (CONT'D)
Don't move... Sorcerer!

REY and BEAUMONT KIN put their hands up. REY is holding her comlink up in her hand.

REY
Finn?!

CUT TO:

INT. SHIPYARD COMMUNICATIONS TOWER (BATUU) - DAY VI MORADI's device is done working.

VI MORADI
We're ready.

FINN
Disable it.

CUT TO:

EXT. FIRST ORDER CONTROLLED SHIPYARD (BATUU) - DAY

For about five seconds every First Order troopers' helmet in the base rings like a dog whistle. The five First Order troops aiming their blasters at REY and BEAUMONT KIN drop or lower them in pain.

FIRST ORDER TROOPER #2
Gehaaghh!

REY
Drux now!

REY force pushes all five troopers knocking them down. At that moment all of the storage containers on the speeder truck open. BARON DRUX NAST and his Attsmun Industry Droids begin pouring out and open fire on the First Order troops. First Order troopers begin running out onto the shipyard. A battle starts. BARON DRUX NAST is wielding an A-1027 charge rifle in each hand. Some of the Attsmun Industry Droids are carrying saws. They begin sawing through the clamps on their ships.

BARON DRUX NAST
Ha ha ha! Charge!

CUT TO:

INT. SHIPYARD COMMUNICATIONS TOWER (BATUU) - DAY

VI MORADI stands by the terminal. FINN and BD-81 are next to her.

FINN
Now all that's left are the
cannons. Let's go.

VI MORADI
You go ahead. I have to stay here

and make sure the First Order
can't get their communications
back online.

FINN
Are you coming with us off-world?

VI MORADI
I wish I could but I can't.
Someone has to keep the
Resistance alive on Batuu.

FINN nods.

FINN
You take care of yourself Vi.

FINN starts to leave.

VI MORADI
Finn.

FINN stops.

VI MORADI (CONT'D)
May the force be with you.

FINN
You too Vi.

BD-81
Beep boop beep be-boop.

VI MORADI
You too, eighty-one.

FINN and BD-81 exit, taking the elevator down.

CUT TO:

KURUK and USHAR walk through the entrance of the shipyard. Together they stare at the battle that is unfolding in front of them.

USHAR
What is this?

KURUK
It's Yasto Attsmun's droids. I
sense the Jedi.

USHAR
I sense her too. I've been
craving a fight like this for a
long time.

Without saying a word USHAR and KURUK separate. USHAR runs head on into battle vibromachete and war club in hand. KURUK quickly scales a wall and begins sniping. The two begin ripping through the Attsmun Industry Droids.

CUT TO:

INT. FIRST ORDER CONTROLLED SHIPYARD (BATUU) - DAY

FINN is running through the hallways of the facility making his way to a defense cannon. Anytime FINN sees a First Order Trooper he immediately stuns them.

CUT TO:

INT/EXT. ATTSMUN SHIP (BATUU) - DAY

REY is using her staff and blaster pistol to fight her way over to one of BARON DRUX NAST's ships.

REY
Beaumont, come on!

REY provides BEAUMONT KIN cover fire as he runs on to the ship with REY. Two Attsmun Industry Droids holding chainsaws begin sawing through the clamps on REY's new ship. REY and BEAUMONT KIN enter the cockpit. REY takes off her poncho, staff, and shoulder bag. She starts up the ship. REY speaks into her comlink.

REY (CONT'D)
Finn our ship is almost ready.
How are the defense cannons
coming along?

CUT TO:

INT/EXT. SHIPYARD DEFENSE CANNON (BATUU) - DAY

FINN is in a stairwell making his way up a tower to get to a defense cannon. He is in a shootout with three First Order Troopers. FINN stuns the three troopers and runs up the stairs and opens the hatch at the top. FINN climbs through the hatch and is outside next to the defense cannon. He speaks into his comlink.

FINN
Just got to the first cannon!

FINN sets his blaster rifle down on the seat of the defense cannon. FINN starts moving the cannon and points it at another cannon.

LIEUTENANT BRACCO
Hands up! Turn around.

FINN turns around and sees LIEUTENANT BRACCO. The Lieutenant has his F-11D blaster rifle pointed at FINN.

CUT TO:

INT/EXT. ATTSMUN SHIP (BATUU) - DAY

REY and BEAUMONT KIN are in the cockpit of one of BARON DRUX NAST's ship. REY is speaking into her com link.

REY
Hurry, we're ready to take off.

Out the window of the ship REY sees USHAR full speed sprinting at BARON DRUX NAST.

CUT TO:

BARON DRUX NAST is shooting every First Order trooper he can.

BARON DRUX NAST
Let them never forget this day!
Ha ha ha!

USHAR jumps directly in front of BARON DRUX NAST. USHAR uses his vibromachete to knock both blasters out of the Baron's hands. USHAR then jabs BARON DRUX NAST in the chest and he goes flying back, hitting a spaceship before falling to the ground. USHAR jumps high into the air and raises his war club above his head. As USHAR is about to slam his war club onto the Baron, REY jumps in between them, igniting her green lightsaber, and blocking USHAR's attack.

USHAR
Jedi!

REY pushes USHAR back, REY's lightsaber shuts off again. USHAR swings his club at two Attsmun Industry Droids, taking them out.

USHAR (CONT'D)
It's been a while since I faced
off against one of your kind!

CUT TO:

EXT. SHIPYARD DEFENSE CANNON (BATUU) - DAY

FINN has his hands up. The LIEUTENANT BRACCO still has his weapon drawn.

LIEUTENANT BRACCO
You're under arrest.

FINN
You don't have to do this. You
have a choice.

LIEUTENANT BRACCO
Oh I do, do I? Just like it was
your choice to turn your back on
us, FN-2187.

FINN
It's Finn now.

LIEUTENANT BRACCO
You went on to help the
Resistance destroy Starkiller
Base, assassinate Supreme Leader
Snoke, and destroy his fleet...
Our world collapsed that day.

FINN
The First Order wasn't just gonna
stop at Hosnian, more worlds
would have been destroyed too.

LIEUTENANT BRACCO
Don't take the moral high ground
FN-2187. Under the New Republic,
the Galaxy was ridden with crime
syndicates and warlords. Planets
starved! The First Order took
action while they sat by.

FINN
You're wrong, I've seen the
things that the...

The LIEUTENANT BRACCO shoots BD-81 off of FINN's shoulder. FINN turns around and looks at the remains of the droid on the ground.

FINN (CONT'D)
Eighty-one!

LIEUTENANT BRACCO
Enough talk! You will spend the
rest of your life in a cell for
what you caused.

FINN runs around the defense cannon. The LIEUTENANT BRACCO shoots at FINN but misses. FINN is keeping the cannon in between them as they move around it.

CUT TO:

EXT. FIRST ORDER CONTROLLED SHIPYARD (BATUU) - DAY

REY and USHAR are fighting. Mid-swing, REY's lightsaber turns off and she is forced to go on the defensive, dodging USHAR's attacks. A single Attsmun Industry Droid begins shooting at USHAR. USHAR dodges the blaster bolts before he throws his vibromachete at the droid, destroying it immediately.

At the same time, REY's lightsaber turns back on. However, instead of fighting USHAR she must deflect blaster bolts from two First Order troopers who started firing at her. Just as her lightsaber shuts back off, the two First Order troopers are taken out by some Attsmun Industry Droids. USHAR and REY go back to fighting.

CUT TO:

EXT. SHIPYARD DEFENSE CANNON (BATUU) - DAY

FINN makes his way around the defense cannon back to the seat. FINN picks up his rifle and he and LIEUTENANT BRACCO exchange blaster fire, neither of them are landing their shots. FINN quickly activates the defense cannon and spins it around. The barrel hits the LIEUTENANT BRACCO knocking him off the tower, he falls screaming.

CUT TO:

EXT. FIRST ORDER CONTROLLED SHIPYARD (BATUU) - DAY

USHAR swings his war club at REY. REY dodges the attack and grabs the war club at its middle. Right as she does this her lightsaber ignites. REY swings her lightsaber at USHAR. USHAR has no choice, he lets go of his war club and steps back, dodging REY's attack. He is now unarmed.

KURUK fires a sniper bolt directly at REY. REY's lightsaber shuts off and she blocks the laser bolt with USHAR's war club. The laser bolt knocks USHAR's war club out of her hand. REY force pushes USHAR with everything she has. USHAR goes flying into a spaceship. He is knocked out. KURUK fires another shot at REY, she dodges.

CUT TO:

EXT. SHIPYARD DEFENSE CANNON (BATUU) - DAY

FINN sees KURUK crouched on top of a wall sniping at REY. FINN points the defense cannon at KURUK and opens fire. KURUK senses this and jumps off the wall dodging the cannon fire. The blast still affects KURUK and he does not land gracefully. He loses his rifle. FINN fires his defense cannon at the other three defense towers exploding the cannons on top.

CUT TO:

EXT. FIRST ORDER CONTROLLED SHIPYARD (BATUU) - DAY

REY runs over to BARON DRUX NAST and helps him get up. BARON DRUX NAST is coughing.

REY
Drux! Are you alright?

BARON DRUX NAST
I'm fine... though I think I
might have broken one or two...
or all of my ribs.

Two Attsmun Industry Droids run over and help BARON DRUX NAST get to his ship.

BARON DRUX NAST (CONT'D)
Until we meet again Rey. Long
live the Resistance!

INT. ATTSMUN SHIP (BATUU) - DAY

REY runs on to her ship and they take off. REY talks into her comlink.

REY
Last chance Vi, we can get you
off Batuu.

CUT TO:

INT. SHIPYARD COMMUNICATIONS TOWER (BATUU) - DAY

VI MORADI is in the communication tower, she is fighting two First Order troopers. They are both wielding Z6 riot control batons. VI MORADI uses her own batons and disposes of the troopers with ease. She then talks into her comlink.

VI MORADI
Sorry Rey, but after all this,
Batuu is going to need a
Resistance more than ever. If
you're ever back on Batuu, come
and find me. May the force be
with you Rey.

CUT TO:

INT. ATTSMUN SHIP (BATUU) - DAY

REY pulls her ship up to FINN's guard tower.

REY
How do we thank you?

VI MORADI (O.S.)
Ah... name your spaceship after
me? Yeah... Moradi... six, cause
there are six of us.

REY
Moradi Six it is. May the force
be with you Vi, and thank you...
for everything.

CUT TO:

EXT. SHIPYARD DEFENSE CANNON (BATUU) - DAY

FINN shoots the defense cannon's terminal with his empire and boards REY's ship. REY immediately begins flying out into space with the rest of BARON DRUX NAST's ships.

CUT TO:

INT. MORADI SIX (BATUU) - SPACE

FINN enters the cockpit.

BEAUMONT KIN
BD-81, where is he?

Remorse washes over FINN's face.

FINN
Beaumont I did what I could but I
couldn't stop them. He didn't
make it.

BEAUMONT KIN hangs his head in sadness. REY makes the jump to hyperspace.

CUT TO:

INT. DEMRAY RESISTANCE HANGAR (MYRA) - DAY

REY lands the Moradi Six in the hangar. POE DAMERON and ROSE TICO stand together with BB-8 next to them. LEIA ORGANA stands with KAYDEL CONNIX, C-3PO, and R2-D2. BEAUMONT KIN, FINN, and REY exit the ship. FINN and BEAUMONT KIN walk together, FINN's hand is on BEAUMONT KIN's shoulder. The two men walk over to POE DAMERON, ROSE TICO, and BB8.

FINN
Beaumont Kin, meet Rose Tico and
Poe Dameron. They're with the

BEAUMONT KIN smiles and cheers up a bit.

I can tell. It's good to meet you BB-8.

C-3PO and KAYDEL CONNIX walk away from LEIA ORGANA. REY walks over to LEIA ORGANA. REY reaches into her shoulder bag and pulls out the Jedi Holocron. She presents it to LEIA ORGANA. LEIA ORGANA looks at it. R2-D2 looks at the holocron and beeps with excitement.

CUT TO:

INT. DEMRAY REY'S TINY HOME (MYRA) - DAY

REY is kneeling down on the floor, in front of her are the five lightsabers she had taken from the Jedi Temple. LEIA ORGANA stands in front of REY holding the Jedi Holocron.

LEIA ORGANA
Yep, this is a Jedi Holocron
alright.

REY
It was calling to me when I was
in the temple. I've read the Jedi
texts I know how to open a
holocron but whenever I try... it
won't budge.

LEIA ORGANA looks at the holocron in her hand. Without any issue LEIA ORGANA opens it. A blue light washes over REY's face as she watches in amazement. The holocron is opened for one second before LEIA ORGANA closes it again. The blue light disappears from REY's face and she is confused.

LEIA ORGANA
If the holocron called to you,
then it is meant for you. But if
you can't open it, it means it
doesn't see you as a Jedi. Not
yet at least.

REY looks down in disappointment. Still she remembers her Master's teachings.

REY
I must exercise patience.

LEIA ORGANA
You're learning. It won't be long
Rey.

LEIA ORGANA looks at the five lightsabers in front of REY.

LEIA ORGANA (CONT'D)
You made five lightsabers for
yourself?

REY
These are the ones I found in the
temple. Only one of them works...
sort of.

LEIA ORGANA holds her hand over the lightsabers. She uses the force to take apart all five hilts. LEIA ORGANA inspects them.

LEIA ORGANA
Looks like they're just old, and
not well maintained. Still, there
are enough good parts to craft
your own lightsaber.

REY
But it won't be my crystal.

LEIA ORGANA
No. But that's never stopped you
from swinging a lightsaber
before.

LEIA ORGANA sets the Jedi Holocron on a table and then exits. REY reaches her hand out and pulls one of the Sacred Jedi Texts to her with the force. REY places the book on the floor in front of her and, with the force, she opens the book and turns the pages to the part that talks about lightsabers.

REY reads the pages for a moment. She then places her hand on the floor and closes her eyes. Specific parts from each of the five lightsabers begin to levitate. Each of the five kyber crystals levitate as well. Two of the crystals are blue, two are green, and one is yellow.

CUT TO:

INT. DEMRAY RESISTANCE HANGAR (MYRA) - EVENING

LEIA ORGANA stands alone at the hangar's opening. She stares at the sunset. She is thinking of her brother, and her son, and REY. REY walks up behind LEIA ORGANA.

REY
Master.

LEIA ORGANA turns around and faces REY. REY is holding her new lightsaber hilt with both hands. REY hands her lightsaber to LEIA ORGANA. Her master grabs the saber and holds it gently as if it were a priceless artifact. LEIA ORGANA inspects the hilt. LEIA ORGANA smiles.

LEIA ORGANA
This is yours alright.

LEIA ORGANA hands REY back her lightsaber. REY looks back at LEIA ORGANA, smiling.

LEIA ORGANA (CONT'D)
Well, show me how you use it.

REY's hilt is about thirteen inches long. REY ignites her lightsaber revealing a blue lightsaber blade. She brandishes it.

LEIA ORGANA (CONT'D)
Good. One last thing.

CUT TO:

REY is wearing the same helmet with a visor she cannot see through from the first episode. Four Marksman-H training remotes float around her.

LEIA ORGANA (CONT'D)
Begin.

The training remotes begin shooting at REY. REY effortlessly blocks them and with one single swing of her saber, takes out all four remotes. REY lifts her visor and smiles at LEIA ORGANA. LEIA ORGANA smiles back.
