Nevermore Academy when you hear the name, you perhaps think of it being one of the most well known magic schools in the American Wizarding World. That is not the only thing this Magic School is known for, it is also known for educating students…who are children have a magical creature as a parent or parents. Well then you would be correct that is if Nevermore Academy wasn’t in hot water at the moment. The reason is due to a incident that occurred a year ago involving a student, who has become both infamous and famous because of this incident…her name is Wednesday Addams.
Although in a way she has saved the school due to uncovering a dark secret that was happening behind the walls. Revealing that Laurel Gates the descendant of Joseph Crackstone, who the former is thought to have died along with her parents. After the death of her older brother named Garrett Gates at the hands of Morticia Addams, though some consider Morticia indirectly saved Nevermore. So in revenge for what Nevermore did to her family, Laurel Gates decided to fake her death and take on a new identity as the new Botanical Science teacher Ms. Thornhill. Plotting her revenge against those responsible for her family’s demise and infiltrating the school with the help of a local barista named Tyler Gaplin. Despite having not anything to do with Nevermore considering he lived a normal life with his father, who is the sheriff of Jericho the town that Nevermore is in…at least that is what everyone thought.
It turns out he is only half human with him being a half monster….specifically a Hyde. Which are a mutated species of magical creatures, who become devotedly loyal to someone after saving them in their darkest hour. Resulting in a unbreakable bond between Hyde and the one who helped them, becoming the Hyde’s master. Later revealing that Laurel Gates did just that, when she unlocked the Hyde in him. Some people speculated on who his mother was, but the only Hyde who attended Nevermore was in the same school year as Morticia Addams.
Except there was only one more obstacle that Laurel needed to get out of her way…Wednesday Addams. Even though Morticia was the one who have killed Garrett Gates. Turns out Wednesday was her target all along since she is the key in reviving Joseph Crackstone from the grave. Due to her have a uncanny resemblance to Goody Addams, who was the one to stop Joseph from continuing his evil deeds, in hurting anymore of the people. Who are the children of Magical Creatures like Werewolves, Centaurs, Fairies, Gorgons any kind of creature you can think of that normal people would read in mythology books. Luckily the spirit of Goody Addams’s came and helped Wednesday in her time of need.
Though it unfortunately resulted in the school being burnt down. The Ministry of Magic was able to have Nevermore being quickly rebuilt within six months. In the mean time the students had to attend a different school that was friendly towards outcasts, though there was no such luck given that word traveled fast on what happened none of the magic schools wanted to take the students. Luckily there was one school that did, as the Headmaster named Bloodgood, was happy of the school to have the Nevermore students attend her school named Monster High, until the magic school was rebuilt.
Which has the new Headmaster of Nevermore Academy, Melissa Weems is still filled with so much gratitude for. You’re not hearing wrong the new Headmaster is Weems specifically Larissa Weems twin sister. Apparently the previous headmaster had cut ties with her family before she moved from the U.K. to America, before she attended Nevermore Academy in 1971. Of course she probably didn’t want anyone to find out that she had a twin, due to them being identical twins it would’ve made things a bit hard for her. Then there is the fact that both sisters are shapeshifters, being able to take any form they so desired.
The sisters often had changed their hair colors to differentiate from one another so it would be easier to tell them apart when they were young. Of course it was a bit of a shock when the students saw Melissa since they assumed they were seeing the ghost of her twin. Though she reassured everyone, while telling them that she is the twin sister of the late headmaster, and although it has been smooth sailing in managing the school. There is still the problem of Nevermore’s reputation now on the edge of infamy because of the incident. As well the fact that her sister had kept a lot of dark secrets which now have come to light. Not to mention there were still some messes her late sister late behind for her to clean up.
As Melissa is sitting in her new office filing the paperwork for the bills of the repairs and looking over the files of new students as well the returning ones. With nighttime arriving as she is filing the last of the papers for today as well a few more apology letters to Emmalina’s parents. Since the poor girl had to keep her magic a secret from everyone even from her own friends. Melissa still can’t help and shake her head in disappointment for what her idiot of a sister had put the young girl through, especially since she could’ve given the girl a private space for her to use her magic in. Not to mention she doesn’t want the wrath of her cousin Wednesday or both families to cause something awful to happen at the next visit…perhaps a curse.
After finishing most of today’s papers, Melissa then went onto the final paper to sign and her eyes widen in shock to see what is written on it. This time instead of the usual in regards to a exchange program, between her students and another Magic School overseas named Hogwarts. Which came as a huge shock to her considering that Nevermore’s reputation has soured within the last year due to the Hyde murders. Not to mention it was from one of the most prestigious magic schools in all of Europe no less. This time it was in regards about something of a more serious matter, immediately seeing the Hogwarts emblem on the wax seal.
Carefully openly the letter from its envelope, while silently hearing the sound of a Cello being played in the distance. Not minding the music as she opens the letter reading the contents. Melissa immediately recognizes the handwriting of her old friend and mentor Albus Dumbledore. She often got letters from him when talking about the subject on the exchange program between their schools. Though there were times that she had gotten letters written by one of his colleagues, but she suspects that he hasn’t told them yet on what’s happening.
My dearest Melissa,
It has been weeks since my last letter to you. I know it might be sudden given you are perhaps still adjusting to your new role as Headmistress to this wonderful Magic School I have heard so much about. Nevermore Academy I recall is the name. Now forgive me for springing this up on you. In regards to reinstating the student exchange program between our fine academies from our last conversation. I’m hoping that you’ll consider the offer and perhaps form a relationship between our schools that will last for many years.
Unfortunately the time when your students should at Hogwarts might have to wait until next year. I am dealing with a bit of a situation at the moment. Unfortunately the Chamber of Secrets has been opened and I fear that young Harry Potter and his friends might be in danger very soon. As you can guess from my previous letter in regards to “ The Boy Who Lived” he tends to have quite the knack to get into dangerous situations. I’m afraid Voldemort will try to make his soon in capturing Harry and do-. Merlin I don’t even want to think about it, so I hope you understand that I’ll have to postpone until next year for your students to come to Hogwarts. Until then I will make sure the castle is safe and well prepared for the students of your choosing.
Be careful , I have a feeling there will be another war coming.
Sincerely Your Friend- Albus Dumbldore
After finish reading the letter Melissa was shocked by what she just read. Thinking it was a joke at first considering Dumbledore was known to have a bit of mischievous side to him. Except he seemed pretty serious in his letter about what is currently happening at her old school. Though reassurance washes over in silent agreement on having the exchange program occur next year, especially considering what is currently happening. Weems starts writing her reply, but she realized a slight problem.
Which brings another problem Ms. Weems has to face…which of the students she should pick and how many of them should she pick to go to Hogwarts?
Sighing she decides to start writing on her letter to Hogwarts’s Headmaster about this since Halloween is right around the corner. Which means she has to start Wednesday proofing the school soon…and maybe ask her friends to keep an eye on her that she doesn’t go crazy with scaring everyone.
