Work Text:
There is anger and grief, but most of all, Elendil’s words are filled with plain disappointment. These are words that were never meant to escape the confines of his mind, but now that they must, they come out of his mouth slowly and clearly, so there shall be no mistake upon hearing them.

For Isildur BetoWrites |
Ever since the loss of Isildur, Elendil kept much locked inside. After the loss of Valandil, he finally speaks out — and confronts a third loss of his — the loss of Eärien.
Or: what I wish the father-daughter discussion in “Where Is He?” (s02e06) had been, plus the post-death respect both Isildur and Valandil deserved.
