Work Text:
She didn't kill him. Di wished that she had murdered Jim. The evil bastard would have deserved it had it been by her hand. Julie Johnston got that pleasure, the last person she would have suspected capable of killing anyone.
Di has been left to carry the can. She will be found guilty, she will rot in prison. Di cannot help but wonder how many women were innocent and she didn't believe them.
After all, the police and courts rarely made mistakes that had been her view once. Now she knew it was bullshit.
If they would just let her stay at Larkhall, she was sure that she could get Julie to confess sooner or later. But she's being shipped out. Punching Buxton was why. Nonce bitch deserved it, but it was one attack to many.
She almost wished she killed her. At least that way she would be serving time for a murder she committed.
Di never believed in karma. But maybe it was real. All the bad things she did were finally catching up with her. All the shit she ignored Jim and others do. All she ever wanted was to be loved. To have a husband and a family.
Her choice in men repeatedly screwed her over. Good men didn't want her. Maybe they could sense something awful in her. She was so desperate to hold onto the bad ones that it ruined her life over and over again, she did things that she never thought possible.
