Even after Troy leaves, Annie and Abed still share the same recliner.

They take turns choosing movies. She nods along at his kernels of insight on Scorsese or Kubrick, and he tries to remember who’s who in her Penguin classics adaptations when half the characters share names.

They build the occasional blanket fort and sometimes forget to even go to bed. They fall asleep with their fingers laced together and the lull of the television behind them, and the chair’s a little small for them both, and the apartment a little big. But it’s theirs. And that might be enough.
