The titles rush the screen as the camera dives through them, plunging the viewer into a vast, starry sky. The stars begin to spiral, swirling faster and faster, forming a vortex. The spinning stars transition into Sora standing at a crossroads under a twilight sky, the paths before him stretching in different directions, each leading to a different world. As Sora contemplates the many choices ahead, his voice echoes in the distance.
Sora: A scattered dream that's like a far-off memory... A far-off memory that's like a scattered dream. I want to line the pieces up—yours and mine.
The camera zooms out from Sora, leaving the crossroads behind and transitioning into a sea of stars. As the stars twinkle and fade, the scene shifts to a lush green valley on Mobius. Sonic stands in the center of the valley, arms crossed, gazing at the low-hanging moon. The emerald grass glows softly in the moonlight, casting a peaceful ambiance.
Sonic: Memories and friendships are the threads that bind our worlds together. No matter how far we drift, they bring us back, reminding us of who we are and what we fight for.
Sanctuary by Hikaru Utada begins to play:
The scene shifts to Kairi sitting on the beach of Destiny Islands, carefully threading shells together to make a charm. The sunlight reflects on the water, giving everything a golden hue. One of the shells slips from her fingers, carried away by the tide. Kairi watches it drift, a hint of longing in her eyes.
The camera zooms out to reveal Sora, Kairi, and Riku standing on the beach, staring at the setting sun. The golden light bathes them, each lost in their thoughts. The wind picks up suddenly, disrupting the serene moment. One by one, Kairi, Riku, and the entire island are blown away like sand, leaving Sora alone.
Sora looks around in confusion, the world around him dissolving into darkness. Suddenly, he's atop the paopu tree, looking out over the endless horizon. Without hesitation, he jumps off, and as he falls, the scene transitions seamlessly into Hollow Bastion's Rising Falls. Sora lands gracefully on the platforms, with Sonic, Donald, and Goofy by his side. They ascend the ominous architecture of the castle as darkness gathers around them.
Sora leaps from platform to platform, fending off Heartless with swift strikes of his Keyblade. He reaches the top to find Kairi lying motionless in the Grand Hall, bathed in eerie light. Panic fills his eyes as he rushes to her. Sonic, Silver, and Knuckles stand nearby, trapped behind a shimmering barrier, unable to help.
Sora cradles Kairi in his arms, his face a mix of sorrow and determination. Across the hall, Riku stands with his back turned. Slowly, Riku turns to face Sora, extending his hand. But before Sora can move, a massive wave crashes down behind Riku, and the scene shifts once again.
Sora finds himself back on Destiny Islands, the familiar shoreline stretched before him. He spots Riku in the distance and charges toward him, Keyblade in hand, ready for a fight. The two clash in a flurry of strikes, their blades sparking with each collision. As the scene intensifies, Riku's form shatters, revealing Ansem, the Seeker of Darkness.
In the Grand Hall, Ansem faces Sonic, Silver, and Knuckles. Sora leaps into the air, slamming his Keyblade into the ground as the Door to Kingdom Hearts opens. Blinding light floods the room, forcing Ansem to recoil. The light engulfs everything. Riku, standing near the entrance to the Dark Depths, shares a solemn moment with Sora before the door slowly closes.
The scene cuts to Shadow, now in his Super form, using Chaos Control to stabilise the Door to Darkness. His eyes reflect the intense light as he seals the door shut with his power.
Suddenly, the scene jumps back to Sora. His heart is opened by the Keyblade of Hearts, releasing the captured hearts of the princesses. As Sora collapses, Kairi stands alone on Destiny Islands, watching the stars fall around her like soft rain. She whispers Sora's name as she gazes at the sky.
In the Realm of Darkness, Shadow and Aqua stand side by side, battling Heartless. As one Heartless shatters into dark particles, the figures of Mephiles the Dark, Oscura, and Black Doom begin to merge. Shadow and Aqua fight valiantly, their combined powers striking down Mephiles. The scene cuts to Shadow's intense Chaos Blast, turning the screen red with power. The scene transitions into the two heroes standing on the shores of Destiny Islands at night, the sky serene as Aqua returns to the Realm of Light. Shadow remains stoic as the scene moves on.
The scene moves back to Kairi, now older, standing once again on Destiny Islands, looking out at the horizon. The skies are blue, with no clouds in the sky. Beside her is Silver, his green aura glowing. Their eyes meet for a moment, exchanging silent understanding. The scene fades into Naminé, sitting in Castle Oblivion, sketching in her book. Spiral stairs materialize from her drawing, turning into a tangible, winding staircase.
Sora, Donald, and Goofy sprint up the newly formed staircase. Heartless appear, but Goofy smashes one with his shield, and Donald casts Thunder, sending lightning through the enemies. The scene fades into a blinding white, then reveals Sonic and Classic Sonic speeding through White Space, Chemical Plant, Sky Sanctuary, Emerald Coast, and Leaf Forest. The two Sonics dash through the worlds seamlessly.
Suddenly, the vibrant colors drain away, replaced by a dark, ominous atmosphere. The Sonics come to a halt, standing before Terios, his red eye glowing with malevolent power.
The scene shifts to Sora, standing in an ethereal realm of swirling blue smoke. He sees DiZ and a cloaked figure. As a white hall forms, Sora faces Marluxia, who stands with his scythe. Their battle begins in a blur of motion, Marluxia's strikes swift and deadly. Sora counters with his Keyblade, their clash sending ripples through the hall.
The scene shifts again to a void of time and space. Starfall Super Sonic and Classic Super Sonic face the gigantic Replica, the void swirling with distorted clocks and fragmented realities. The Sonics charge, but Terios enters, his sword crackling with blue energy. The Doctor and Classic Robotnik, watching from the shadows, smirk.
The battle rages as Terios appears and prepares a devastating attack. The Doctor calculates, and Classic Robotnik grins at the chaos.
Riku leaps backwards, dodging Ansem's dark energy. Sora and Riku clash with Marluxia and Ansem, their blades sparking. Sora hurls his Keyblade, colliding with Marluxia's scythe. The shockwave ripples through the battlefield.
The scene shifts as Sora, Donald, and Goofy run up the spiral stairs of Castle Oblivion. Riku, Sonic, and King Mickey descend the same staircase, crossing paths for a brief moment.
Sonic dashes down the stairs and is engulfed in a warm light. The brightness fades, revealing a lush green valley where a surprise birthday party for Sonic is underway. His friends—Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Rouge, Cream & Cheese, Team Chaotix, Leon, Aerith, Yuffie, and even Cid—cheer for him.
Sonic smiles but notices Classic Sonic and Classic Tails waving goodbye as they disappear into the light.
The scene transitions from this bright light to Planet Wisp, where Sonic and Tails run joyfully. However, their run is interrupted by Neoshadows. Sonic and Tails ready themselves for battle, but just as the Heartless close in, a flash of radiant energy tears through the air, scattering the shadows. Captain Marvel descends, her silhouette glowing with unstoppable power, her arrival a beacon of strength and mystery. Carol's energy bursts to life which makes the screen go to white.
As Captain Marvel's radiant light fades, the scene gently transitions to Castle Oblivion, where Naminé sits alone, her hand delicately sketching on a pad. Each stroke brings the image of Sora inside a capsule to life, and as her pencil moves, the capsule itself begins to materialise in front of her. A soft glow surrounds Sora, who is now trapped within, his form slowly becoming consumed by a blinding, ethereal light. He struggles against it, reaching out, but the light engulfs him entirely. Naminé watches with sadness in her eyes, her hand still trembling as she holds the pencil.
Sora, now lost in the light, suddenly plummets through a vast expanse of shimmering water. The world blurs around him as he lands softly on the familiar shores of Destiny Islands. The sunset paints the horizon, casting a warm, golden hue over Kairi, Riku, and Sora, who lie peacefully on the sand, their hands intertwined. They gaze up at the stars, serene and still, as though nothing in the world could disturb this quiet moment.
The scene shifts one final time to a blonde-haired boy tumbling through a vast, empty space. His descent is slow and dreamlike, suspended in a void where time seems to stretch endlessly. As he lands gently on a stained-glass platform, he looks up, confused yet curious. Beneath his feet, the platform gleams with the image of Sora, surrounded by Riku, Kairi, Donald, Goofy, and Sonic. The boy steps forward, hesitant, as a flurry of birds takes flight, scattering into the brilliant sky above. As they soar into the distance, the platform beneath him fades to black, leaving him alone in the void.
The New Journey Begins...
