Chapter Text
It was a normal day in Murdock, Nelson & Page, not too busy or too empty. Just the right amount of of clients, including some regular clients. Anyways, sometime during the day, Foggy had entered Matt’s part of the office. “Hey, Matt. Karen and I are heading to Josie’s since it’s already near the time to close. It’s been a bit since someone came in so we’re closing early. Do you want to join?” He thought it would e considerate to offer his best friend to join but the man shook his head. “I have stuff I need to do.”
Not liking the feeling he was getting, Foggy shook his head. “Just don’t get yourself killed, ok?” “It’s not that, Fogs. Just some client work I need to get done.” Speaking of, he really needed to get on it. “Go have fun.”
Foggy and Karen leave the office, heading to their favorite bar. Meanwhile Matt did what he had to do. It took a few hours but he soon finished. Now, he had to debate on something, whether to go out and do his nightly routine or go home and get some rest for the evening. The thing was, when did he ever get rest?
To deep into his thoughts, he failed to notice the sound of a motorcycle parking in front of the building. It wasn’t until a familiar scent hit his nostrils causing him to freeze in place. So many questions filled his mind but all he knew was that he had to go check. With quick movements, he grabbed his cane before rushing out of the office, his heart beating faster than it has in a long time.
Once he got to the exit, he swung the door open, brown eyes wide behind those red rounded glasses.
“Hey, Matty! Long time no see!”
There stood a five foot tall snow bunny hybrid, leaning against the motorcycle. She had short black locks with white bunny ears, bright blue eyes, and peachy skin. What she was wearing didn’t resemble her personality at all. She had an all black outfit; a sleeveless crop top, leather jacket, shorts, thigh high socks, platforms boots and jewelry.
Matt ‘stared’ at the woman who wore a cheeky grin. “Cat caught your tongue?” She teased, the usual banter they used to have. It’s been years since the two last seen each other. “I can see that you continued to pursue a career. I remember you talking about being a lawyer. Then of course I heard about your work. You’ve been pretty popular, huh?”
Matt didn’t care if anyone was watching. He immediately lunged himself at the bunny T, giving her a tight hug. “Woah, Murdock! Good to see you too!”
After a bit, the blind man backed away. “What are you doing here, Coraline? I thought you moved because of family?” “Well, I did but I decided to move back. I do move around a lot. Are ya heading home?” She asked, receiving a slow nod. “Wanna ride?” The brunette could tell she meant on the motorcycle. “Uh…sure.”
Coraline hops onto the bike before tapping the spot behind her. “Hop on.” She handed him her helmet, preferring to keep him safe rather than herself.
While they rode to Matt’s apartment, the man heard a croak from behind. ‘Looking’ back, he sensed a familar friend.
“Gilly…” He muttered, a smile on his lips. “Yep! I still have that lil fella! He’s missed ya!” Gilly was a frog made of water, tiny as one could be.
Once they arrived at Matt’s place, he got off the motorcycle. “So you want to come in?” He offered. Coraline thought about it for a moment, nodding at him. “Sure!” Parking the bike, the two entered the apartment.
