Work Text:
The sunlight timidly filtered through the curtains, illuminating the messy apartment Scott and Ramona shared. In the bedroom, Roxie Richter slowly opened her eyes, feeling a slight buzzing in her head and a dry mouth—clear signs of a hangover.
As she tried to move, she noticed something odd: she was naked. She blinked several times, trying to process the situation, but what really left her frozen was when she turned her head and saw Scott Pilgrim, also naked, sleeping soundly next to her.
Roxie remained completely still, her mind blank. *What the hell happened last night?*

**The Night Before**
Ramona had called Roxie a few days earlier, inviting her to a group outing. “Everyone will be there—Scott, me… even some of my exes. It’ll be fun,” she had said in her usual casual tone. Roxie, hesitant at first, ended up accepting. Part of her wanted to see how Ramona was doing after all this time, and another, more masochistic part, was curious about how Ramona’s life had changed since they stopped seeing each other.
The bar was packed and filled with laughter when Roxie arrived. Scott was at a table with Ramona, Kim, Stephen Stills, Young Neil, and some of Ramona’s exes: Lucas Lee, Todd Ingram, and, to Roxie’s surprise, Gideon Graves, who looked awkwardly out of place. Ramona greeted Roxie with a casual hug and introduced her to the group.
At first, the tension between Scott and Roxie was palpable. After all, the last time they had faced off hadn’t ended well for Roxie. But surprisingly, Scott seemed more relaxed this time, and after a few drinks, the conversation started to flow with surprising ease.
“You know,” Roxie said, laughing at one of Scott’s ridiculous jokes, “you’re way less of an idiot than I remember.”
“And you’re way less intimidating when you’re not trying to kill me,” Scott replied with a goofy smile, raising his glass for a toast.
What started as casual chatter turned into constant laughter, improvised inside jokes, and way too many tequila shots. The music and lights of the bar became a blur, and by the time they stumbled out, neither Scott nor Roxie could remember how they ended up back at the apartment.

**The Morning After**
Roxie snapped out of her initial shock when she heard a faint noise coming from the living room. She hastily wrapped herself in a sheet and stepped out of the bedroom, hoping not to run into Ramona… or anyone else.
On the couch, Ramona was sleeping peacefully, her expression of calmness completely contrasting with the chaos Roxie felt inside.
“What… what the hell did I do?” Roxie muttered, rubbing her temples.
Suddenly, Scott appeared in the bedroom doorway, awkwardly covering himself with a blanket. “Roxie? What happened last night?”
“That’s what I’d like to know, you idiot,” she replied, crossing her arms and trying not to blush.
They stared at each other awkwardly, trying to piece together the events of the previous night. Finally, Roxie sighed. “Look, this… this was a mistake, okay? I don’t know what happened, but there’s no point in making this more complicated.”
Scott nodded quickly. “Yeah, yeah, totally agree. It wasn’t… anything. Just, uh, tequila, right?”
Before they could continue, Ramona stretched on the couch, yawning and opening her eyes. “Why are you two making so much noise this early?”
Roxie and Scott froze, trying to act casual. But Ramona’s expression shifted as she noticed their nervous faces and the tightly held blankets they were clutching.
“What did you two do?” Ramona asked, narrowing her eyes.
Roxie swallowed hard. “Nothing worth mentioning…”
Ramona raised an eyebrow and smirked sarcastically. “Uh-huh. Sure.”
As Ramona got up to head to the kitchen, Roxie and Scott exchanged panicked looks. They knew this conversation wasn’t over, but for now, silence seemed like the best option.
*What a mess…* Roxie thought as she slumped into a chair. From now on, she’d definitely avoid Ramona’s invitations. Definitely.
