Skin Deep

Summary:

Reaping Day is a time of reflection and a way to bring the people together (even if it’s not the way it’s meant to)

Notes:

Katniss’s line about people who’ve stopped trying to get the coal dust off and the fact that reaping clothes are basically Sunday clothes got me thinking about the other districts and how they all get ready for Reaping Day

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Notes:

District solidarity yay! The fact the hunger games were a tool to divide the districts until they were able to rebel in part because of the games both as a way to connect with others for logistics and as a shared trauma to rally against is really neat and I wanted explore the Reaping on a district by district basis using the various resources each district is forced to provide the capitol
