Work Text:
It wasn’t the most pleasant week at all. Especially not after waking up on a Monday morning shivering despite the incredible heat outside of his unit. Sunoo never imagined that there will be a day where he wished he wasn’t on his bed but there he is cursing at himself for how weak his immunity is that he’ll have to miss his examination because of a flu.
“I thought I’d be better by now” he muttered followed by a grunt as he reached for his phone.
After messaging Jungwon to let him know he’ll be absent that day because of his flu, he buried himself under the covers once more. He can’t help but think about how this all started after that insane mess of a party in their organization the Friday before.
“I really hope tomorrow gets better. I can’t miss any more exams” he utters before falling back to slumber
Fortunately, he was well enough to attend the remaining days of the examination week. Even if that meant he had to cram his late term outputs while studying. He was just glad that Jungwon and Jake were able to lend him their notes.
It was Friday when he finally got to breathe.
“Sun!!” Jungwon’s voice caught his attention as he was leaving their building premises.
“Won!! Ugh I’m so glad I finally got to answer the exam I missed on Monday”
“I know right?! I’m glad you’re a lot better now. Where are you off to?”
“Oh I was actually just planning to sleep for the rest of the week” Sun laughs
“Really? Do you wanna come with me tomorrow? I’m planning to visit the Claude Monet exhibit”
“Oh that’s tomorrow already? Of course!”
“Yey! Should we just meet each other there? Or wanna meet somewhere else first?”
“Maybe let’s just meet there and then we can eat somewhere afterwards?”
“That’s a great idea! So around 4pm? Then we’ll go get dinner together?”
“Yes sure!” Sunoo exclaims like a puppy
“Oki! I’ll see you tomorrow! Go rest okay? You deserve it.”
They both bid farewell soon after and Sunoo kept his promise to rest well that night.

Still stuck in traffic! Go wait inside so it’s colder. I’ll just let you know when I’m outside already! This traffic is terrible I just wanna levitate. Jungwon’s text reads
Sunoo can’t help but laugh at his dramatic friend. Considering how he’s already feeling some drops of sweat trace his back, Sunoo went in and waited for Jungwon by the museum’s lobby.
He observes a quite lengthy line in the ticketing desk which made him decide to just go ahead and buy their tickets while waiting to save time later.
Soon enough, Jungwon is running through the lobby towards a patient Sunoo at the corner.
“Oh God that took forever I am so sorry” Jungwon states while catching his breath.
“I really don’t mind, Won. I told you, I just got here too early.” Sunoo smiles.
They made their way to the gallery upstairs. While they were getting their tickets scanned, they hear a few loud chatter from the entrance. Sunoo paid it no mind as he was drowning in excitement. His favorite painter’s works are just upstairs anyway.
———————————
The rooms were huge with high ceilings. And while all of the works are undeniably fascinating, all of it effortlessly made Sunoo feel small.
“I won’t mind getting lost here” Sunoo whispers to Won which made the other giggle
“Even Women in the Garden is here!” Jungwon exclaims
“Won, look! The Thames below Westminster! I might seriously cry right now.”
“Please don’t cry though the touring students might look at you instead” the two once again giggled through the halls
After a while, Jungwon insisted on going to the comfort room alone.
“I’ll be fine. Keep walking around okay? I’ll just message you when I need to. I won’t take long. I promise!” Won whisper shouts as he starts walking away
Sunoo only got to sigh in return as he watch Jungwon’s back disappear to another room. Although there are little crowds around him, it’s the kind that he can still tolerate and so he decides to journey on the other parts of the exhibit including the upper floor.
The upper floor has the more famous works of Claude Monet. Sunoo silently wishes that Jungwon comes back soon so they can take pictures of each other.
At one point, Sunoo had to stop and appreciate a work of Monet that he think is well-known but is still underrated, the Garden at Sainte-Adresse.
Sunoo got his phone and was about to search about facts on the artwork when someone called his attention.
“Hey” a soft voice from someone approaching beside him.
He was met by a tall figure which holds a gaze so mesmerizing.
Now THAT is a work of art. Sunoo thinks.
Sunoo had to pull himself quickly out of a trance as the boy starts speaking to him again.
“Hi uhm I am really sorry for disturbing you. It’s just that, my friends and I are working on this art blog for one of our classes and we need a proper picture in this exhibit. Can you uhm…take a picture of us? Only if it’s okay of course.”
“Oh yeah sure” was all Sunoo was able to let out before taking the camera from the taller boy.
The boy walked back to his friends with Sunoo following him. The other three friends of the guy beamed at him as soon as they saw him.
“Hi! We’re sorry for disturbing you.” One of the boys spoke.
Sunoo observes them quickly as they find their spot beside a huge frame holding The Water Lily Pond painting.
“Good choice” Sunoo comments with a smile before positioning the camera in front of his face.
After some few shutters, Sunoo straightened up to hand the camera back to the taller guy. Sunoo noticed some initial on the lace of the camera before giving it away.
PSH? He thought.
Sunoo bowed a little and was about to walk away when he was called once again.
“Hey uhm I didn’t catch your name. I’m Sunghoon.” The tall boy called out.
“Oh I’m Sunoo” he beams.
“Thanks for this, Sunoo. If I may, and I insist. Let me take a picture of you with the painting you were staring at earlier as my form of gratitude.” Sunghoon adds.
“Oh it’s totally okay. I’m just happy to help.”
“No please, I insist. I promise I take good pictures.” Sunghoon sheepishly smiles as he scratches the back of his neck in such a manner that left Sunoo nodding to whatever he’s being asked of.
Sunoo found himself posing rather timidly as Sunghoon counts down before another series of shutters were heard. The section of the exhibit is only occupied with the group of friends and Sunoo.
Sunghoon was about to show Sunoo the pictures when Jungwon called for Sunoo from the other side of the room.
“Hey, I’ve been calling you.” Won exhales as he walks toward Sunoo’s side.
“Oh sorry, I was preoccupied, I helped their group get a good photo for their blog.”
Jungwon turns to the people Sunoo was referring to and smiled a little as the group acknowledged him with smiles and small nods.
“I won’t hold you back any longer. The images in this camera directly transfers to my phone. I can send the photos to you now.” Sunghoon offers
“Oh sure. Airdrop will do.” Sunoo pulls out his phone again.
Sunghoon went near him to bring their phones together with which Sunoo pressed the accept button.
“Hold on I forgot to share one more picture.” Sunghoon once again closed the distance of their phones making Sunoo press the accept button mindlessly before immediately pocketing his phone and smiling up at Sunghoon.
“Thank you again, Sunoo. Uhm… I hope you have a great day ahead.”
“You too. Good luck with your blog.” Sunoo smiles before tugging on a rather fidgety Jungwon beside him.
——————-
“SUNOO WE SHOULD HAVE ASKED FOR THEIR CONTACT DETAILS.” Jungwon exclaims as they settle down on a nearby restaurant.
“THAT’S EMBARRASSING, WON! Although I really also wish we did.” Sunoo pouts.
“You like the tall guy with thick eyebrows don’t you?” Jungwon displays a teasing smile.
“Who captured your interest then?” Sunoo counters.
“The shorter guy with a sharp jawline. I want to cry right now.”
“You really are dramatic.” Sunoo rolled his eyes.
“Whatever. Let’s see the pictures!” Jungwon jumps on his seat
Sunoo opens his phone and was surprised by what welcomes him. Jungwon had to peek at his screen to see the cause of Sunoo’s stunned face.
“Sunghoon Park…OH MY GOD DID HE JUST AIRDROP YOU HIS CONTACT NUMBER?!”
