Chapter Text
Sunday, 07:11 AM
The digital clock beside Mizu’s bed displayed the hour as it alarmed her once again with its slightly disturbing noise. It was just one of those rare days when Mizu would wake up early in the morning. She yawned, stretching her arms out and finally pressing the alarm’s button to stop.
“New day, new me!” She quickly stood up from her bed, rushing to the bathroom as she heard her doorbell’s ringing.
“On my way!” She yelled from her room, quickly changing herself and brushing her hair. She hurriedly walked to the front door, opening it with a swift move.
“Good mor–” She was surprised by a familiar figure that she had not expected to see at her front door today.
“Pizza delivery!” The brown haired boy chuckled. His hair was messier than usual but Mizu assumed it would've been because he tried to get to her door as soon as possible for some reason.
“Heya, Mizu!”
Mizu smiled back at him as she let him enter inside. Both walked to the living room, Mizu grabbed her quick made breakfast as she sat down next to him.
“How’s it going, Jack? Haven't seen you for some time since you decided to take a break from that band… Anything new happened?” She watched him speak carefully as she munched on her crunchy toast.
“Not really. Ah, well… I guess I’ve composed a new song… But it's still a work in progress.” Jack shrugged as he looked away feeling a tad embarrassed by his lack of motivation.
It's not like he didn't want to continue but he genuinely hated this feeling of not knowing what to do next. Giving up on music was not an option but he was at a loss of ideas currently — similarly to an artist’s art block.
Mizu listened to him, nodding and making sure that she understood everything. She was always careful when answering to him or any of her friends for that matter. She would make sure to “double check” by asking extra questions sometimes so that she could understand everything perfectly and be capable of helping them to the best of her abilities.
She sighed softly before she started to speak. “Oh, Jack. You've been staying up late again, haven't you?” She made a pause.
“Listen, I'll help you with it. You don't have to worry when you're in such good hands like mine!”

And in the blink of an eye… They were both there. Both of them were singing live on stage. It was insane, of course it was… because it felt like Jack’s dream had finally come true.
“Woo-hoo!” Jack’s cheerful attitude was dazzling on stage, he looked at Mizu and Mizu looked back at him.
“Yay! This is so fun! See? I told you anything is possible with friends!!”
Everything was so loud, so chaotic. Lights moving fast everywhere, the crowd was going wild – Jack couldn't believe it when they even threw out money at them. Were they really that good?
It all almost felt like a blurry memory from a long time ago that makes you feel so nostalgic, you’d do anything to experience it again. At least, now all their worries disappeared finally.
They were shining stars, they were great…
…for 15 minutes.

“And then I woke up in a cold sweat at 3 AM…”
Jack's words escape his mouth in a regretful tone, as if something really unfortunate happened. Somehow, he felt betrayed by his own mind. How was that even possible?
“But it felt so vivid…! I think I could gaslight myself that it actually happened.”
Mizu bursted out in laughter as she finished listening to the dream Jack was telling her about.
“That’s crazy, you know… but the dream already sounded crazy when you mentioned the part where I wake up early in the morning.”
END.
