NATURAL DYEING | REBECCA DESNOS on Instagram: "Flower hammering is so addictive 🤩🌸🌿 This method is in my book called Plant Dye Zine. ✍🏽 Comment the word “ZINE” to get a link to find out more about my book. The tutorial in Plant Dye Zine was generously written by the incredible @samorn_sanixay. There are bonus steps for treating the fabric after hammering to help the prints last the longest. I used flowers and leaves from my dye garden, but it works with many other plants, e.g. herbs and deeply pigmented flowers. Have you had a go at this before? Which plants did you try? 🌸🌱🌼" Hammering Flowers On Fabric, Flower Dyed Fabric, Flower Pounding On Fabric, Flower Hammering, Flower Dyeing, Hammered Flowers, Dye Garden, Fodder School, Botanical Dye

NATURAL DYEING | REBECCA DESNOS on Instagram: "Dyeing with nettles 🌿 Maybe a weed to some people, but an incredibly useful herb to the rest of us 😍 Nettles not only make delicious and nourishing tea, but they produce beautiful grey/green shades in the dye pot too. You’ve probably heard me talk about this before, but my number one tip for pretty much all dye plants is to allow them to soak in the dye for longer than you might first think. The colour will continue to change and darken as it oxidises. Heat gently (never boil) then turn off the heat, leave the lid on and allow the plants to soak in the dye over night. Observe as the dye darkens and reheat if you like, then leave to soak for longer. Practice this for different plants and trust your own judgement for making dyes ✨ I compa Natural Green Dyes For Fabric, Desire Paths, Natural Green Dye, Diy Ink, Eco Dyeing Fabric, Dye Plants, Leaf Dyeing, Natural Dyeing Techniques, Grey Dye
