Kolam (Tamil), also referred to as Muggu (Telugu), is a form of drawing drawn using rice flour, chalk, chalk powder or rock powder, often using powders of natural or synthetic color. It originated in Tamil Nadu and has since spread to the other states of Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Kerala, and parts of Goa and Maharashtra, as well as to Indonesia.
