Started buying yard sale, Goodwill/Salvation Army items for near to nothing. Best places to find your little gems. To transform them from outdated pieces to something that everyone seems to be sought-after. We ALL like to save. We ALL like the idea of reusing or recycling, BUT we don't always get round to doing it sadly. Find a piece in your house. Stool, jar, lamp, vase, WHATEVER, and see what you can do with it to turn it from DRAB to FAB without scrounging for next months rent.

dresser i bought for 10 bucks at a garage sale. Just chalk painted and used a mahogany coloured stain, leaving drawers unstained. Used a stencil for the pattern with the stain. chalk painted the handles.

Side of drawers are stenciled with lace material strips. Used White wash stain. Had to open up the pores so the wood absorbed it nicely. Isn't she lovely?

This was a french provincial buffet dresser that I bought from a goodwill for a mere $30. I fell instantly inlove with it. I decided to strip it, sand it and transform it from a traditional wood varnish finish to a Shabby Chic white wash finish. The drawer sides and the cabinet doors(inside face) have lace patterned stencils that I did with lace material and spray paint.
