One of the first things that I learned that was the hardest thing for me to remember how to do was how to square a block. So, I'm going to show you so that you can go back and watch it again because I had to go into the store several times to find out how to do it because I would forget. I want to square this down to about an eight-inch block. So, here I've got it right here. This is my ruler and it doesn't really matter what grand ruler you have as long as it's a square ruler and it's larger than the block that you want to make. So, I want to make this into about an eight-inch block. So, the First thing I want to do is place my eight inch right here inside my block. I want to be able to cut off all four edges and it's got this nice angle right here as a guide. I'm going to put it down here like this. I cut those edges off then I'm going to flip my fabric around so this was the corner that used to sit up there that I cut off now I am going to place that eight inch mark right on the edges and it's going to be perfect right here right there and my line is going to go straight through it's going to be right at the corner and now I can cut off this edge in this edge and I have a perfect eight-inch square. Just that easy.
