Brain Fog is not a medical term, but it is used to describe feelings associated with lack of focus and mental clarity.

What time of day do you typically experience brain fog? Many people report feeling brain fog onset in the afternoon. Is this you? If so, you’re not alone!

What do you generally do when you have brain fog?

For example, many people eat sugar to counteract their natural energy lull in the afternoon. While sugar will initially surge your mental energy, focus, and motivation (by surging a neurotransmitter called dopamine), dopamine eventually drops below baseline levels leading to cravings, lower energy and lack of mental focus + motivation.

Listen to the “BrainShape Podcast” (Ep.134) for more on mental burnout out and how healthy lifestyle behaviours can help. Availab

My 3-step process to help you ditch unwanted cravings and stop excessive consumption 🥖🍷🧁.

What is your overindulgence of choice?

🔹Wine?

🔹Chocolate?

🔹Carbs?

Many of us have unhealthy ways of dealing with unpleasant emotions, so my question to you is this:

WHAT EMOTIONS ARE YOU TRYING TO SOOTHE WITH YOUR CONSUMPTION?

〰️ Are you feeling tired?

〰️ Are you stressed?

〰️ Are you feeling overwhelmed?

To get to the root cause of what is driving your indulgent behaviour, get curious and be your own detective🧐👇🏾

1️⃣ IDENTIFY THE TIME OF DAY: Is there a particular point in the day you can associate with your undesired behaviour? For example, you always drink a lot of wine after a long day, or your cravings typically kick in after dinner? By noticing the time of day, you can sta

🤯 Humans are lazy by nature.

🧠 Your brain will ALWAYS choose the path of least resistance.

Whatever you think about or do most often gets wired into your brain through a process called myelination.

When the fatty tissue (myelin) wraps around your brain cells (neurons) ~ these neurons will fire faster and more easily.💥

Since your brain ALWAYS wants to do what is easier – it will default to certain thoughts/thinking patterns,

behaviours, and ways of being.

👆🏾This is why habits are so important.

A habit is formed when a behaviour or thought becomes so automatic that it takes place without much conscious effort.

So, how can you increase the likelihood of successfully integrating new + healthy habits if they aren't already a part of your everyday routine? ⤵️
