Jordan | Occupational Therapist | Baby & Toddler Play on Instagram: "✏️Pre- writing can be FUN and it doesn’t have to be your basic pen and paper activity. Practicing pre writing strokes without a utensil using a multi sensory approach is a fantastic way to engage the littles and refine those fine motor skills needed for handwriting. Hi! Tracing helps little ones refine their pre-writing skills, and builds the foundation for drawing and writing letters and words. This time we used Popsicle sticks to create patterns and we put them inside of a Ziplock bag (which btw is erasable if you use dry-erase markers) 💡 Our kids loved it and the possibilities to learn and play with this resource are endless. Thank you to @hands_on_family and @creative_mama_che for the inspiration. Jordan | Occupational Therapist | Baby & Toddler Play on Instagram: "One of my favorite pre-writing and handwriting multi sensory activities! I like taping it to a vertical surface for added therapeutic benefit, but you can also do it on a tabletop surface. Show a card or demonstrate a pre writing stroke or a letter and have them copy it. This is great to do with a finger first then you can add in a utensil/q tip/ etc. My 2 year old and 4 year old both benefited from this activity- I just graded it to match their current skill level.
