SFJAZZ Gala Invitation Design
In an effort to raise funds to deliver this mission, SFJAZZ hosts an annual gala honoring a luminary performer each January. Since 2017, Elixir has been charged with creating event collateral that is inspired by the recipient of a Lifetime Achievement Award. While the big picture goal is to help raise money, the underlying intent is to fully encapsulate the tone for the event—from the moment the invitation arrives in the mailbox to the community galvanizing celebration.

Berggruen Gallery San Francisco - Elixir Design
Legendary gallery owners John and Gretchen Berggruen retained Elixir for a rebranding effort that would mark their move from an inconspicuous second floor gallery space to a prominent corner adjacent to SFMOMA. Elixir’s design challenge was to gather content and execute blue-chip-calibre typography while staying out of the way of the Art.

Since 2005, Tipping Point has raised more than $260 million to educate, employ, house and support those in need in the Bay Area. The beautiful tables set for the Leadership Donor Celebration are accompanied by our event collateral in shades of turmeric, red, and pink. We used the inverted “A” as a placecard with hand written names for seating and, mirroring the invitation design, had the placecard stand upright in the program booklet.

Asian Art Museum Leadership Donor Celebration Invite Design
In honor of the new modern wing of the Asian Art Museum, Elixir created event collateral that simply marked the moment in a way that was minimal and fresh. The museum’s logo mark, an upside-down “A”, is the mathematical symbol meaning “for all.” The symbol played a large role in the invitation and carried the event information.

This is an award to honor outstanding leaders in nonprofits worldwide. We presented a broad range of concepts, all revolving around icons of hard work. Ultimately, the dirty work glove was selected, and we simply ran with a retouched version of the image used in the original comp, which we found on Flickr. (The photographer graciously granted permission.) With Levi’s history in the Old West, we couldn’t help but be inspired by ‘wanted’ posters for the layout.
