We did not originally plan for the beams but as we got into the building process, I knew I wanted something to separate the kitchen and living space as well something to draw your eye up with the 12 ft ceilings. Our trim carpenter did an incredible job creating these faux beams and then the millworks team where we got our hardwood came in and did a steel wool and vinegar wash on the new cypress to give the beams an old antique look. 😍😍😍 If you are in the middle of a build and feel you are too late to add a design element - don’t give up!
