Because I use mainly thrifted and second hand fabrics I have to work with what I’ve got. So the sleeve allowance has to be in the budget.  I budget in two rectangles. This one is the width of the fabric which  is 55 inches. Then the depth is going to be 2x how far you want your sleeve to extend (do some folding and mocking up?)   Fold in half short sides together. Cut a curve into the top of the sleeve.   The short ends will be at the underneath of the sleeve. If they’re longer the sleeve will hang underneath more.   The main thing is: have fun playing around with it!
