This lesson plan is a three-dimensional understanding of color theory. Students will create a traditional color wheel or a color wheel exhibiting other color theory terms. The wheel will be made on a clay tile with mixable glazes. Techniques learned or practiced in this lesson include trimming, smoothing, mixing glazes, and glazing.
RO-20 Temmoku - Speckled Clay
A Fireclay/Goldart/Redart high-fire body for the artist who likes clay with color. In oxidation, RO-20 fires to a nice medium brown; while in a reduction fire RO-20 yields a pleasant reddish-brown. RO-20 can be used for hand-building, tile making, and throwing on the wheel. Contains 9% medium grog. Firing Details Firing range is cone 6 to cone 10 Shrinkage at cone 6 is 13% and at cone 10 is 15.5%. Absorption at cone 6 is ≤1.0% and at cone 10 it is ≤0.01%.
