Professor Longe Olumide Babatope, mentor per excellence, globally sought after, proud son of Africa, a global citizen, leader of leaders, benefactor, philanthropist, researcher, lecturer, academia, traveler, mobile, agile, highly disruptive, listener, change-maker and by all standard a motivator, has had a progressive and accomplished academic, research and professional career demonstrating consistent success in research and development, professional impact, mentoring at national, regional and global levels with laudable recognitions and assuring students success. He holds a PhD degree in Computer Science (Information Systems Security Specialization) from the University of Benin, Benin City Nigeria; a Master’s degree in Computer Science from the Federal University of Technology Akure, Nigeria, a BSc in Computing from the University of Benin, Benin City, Nigeria and National Diploma in Electrical/Electronics Engineering from the Federal Polytechnic, Ado Ekiti, Nigeria. A recipient of several national and international awards and recognitions, he is an alumnus MacArthur Scholar and an alumnus MIT Scholar. He was also a recipient of the prestigious Fulbright SIR Fellowship to the United States of America and the highly coveted Heidelberg Nobel Laureate Forum Fellowship in Germany. Prior to assuming duties as Associate Professor & Chair of the Information Systems Department at the American University, Yola, Nigeria, he had worked at The Federal Polytechnic, Auchi, Nigeria, The University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria, The Accra Institute of Technology as a PhD supervisor on the doctoral programme, Adeleke University, Ede, Nigeria, Caleb University, Lagos Nigeria and several other institutions as adjunct or visiting lecturer/Professor in Nigeria which include Bells University of Technology, Tai Solarin University of Education, Covenant University, Achievers University just to mention a few. Prof. Longe’s academic career spans over a decade. He is reputably reffered to as a MOBILE PROFESSOR being one of the most widely travelled and mobile academia in Nigeria today judging by the number of institutions where he had been privileged to have taught and mentored people. He had during these period taught several courses in computing/information systems/information technology, business and management information systems. He has held administrative positions which include Head of Department/Chair, Dean of Students, Dean of Business School, Deputy Dean of the Postgraduate College, Director of ICT, Director of JUPEB Programme and a Member of Council of University. He was recently nominated and will be coffered as a Fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants of Nigeria as well as a Lifetime Achievement Award to be conferred in Accra Ghana by the African Media Group for commendable leadership and impact in the field of Computing & Information Systems. In June, 2019, he was among the recipients of the maiden ALUMNODE Grant awarded to alumnus of the Heidelberg Laureate Forum Fellow.
