So I’ve had this itch lately, and I ended up redesigning an older character, Jeremy. I’ve had Jeremy for decades at this point, but in the 2010s he had become, well, boring I guess. Jeremy is one of the most “just a guy” characters I have. So I wrote him out of the character group that I have; he went off to LA to try to become a TV writer.

The itch, though, was for a smaller, cuter character. And here’s what I got:

Snowglobe

Three years ago @polkadotpatterson wrote me a very lovely and kind gift fic, Snowglobe, about my Blaseball son, Jasper Coven. I’ve been thinking about him this last week, and coincidently on the fic’s anniversary. Jasper had to go west, far from home, into the Frozen Sky, sent there by his mentor and surrogate sister, Kiki Familia. For what, he’d know when he saw it. Jasper’s story is about going far from home, landing in a new place, and trying to find a place (and badly wanting to be a credit to the team, and to Kiki).

Tomorrow I’m leaving the midwest, where I was born and raised, and going back to the Pacific Northwest, a place I love, but hasn’t been home to me in five years. We saw how the election went, and how Missouri was shaping up, and we decided we couldn’t stay. It’s hard to stay in a place that doesn’t love you back. I love my home town, St. Louis, deeply, and I’m angry that it has to be in a state that hates me.

So tomorrow we’re heading west. I’m sad to leave my home, but the way Jasper’s story goes, he does become a credit to the team, he does make Kiki proud, and he does find a home. I know we will. I’m just not happy about it right now.

Maysin Leaf (they/he/she)

I moved Maysin to the Serotiny gang. They’re all closer to Maysin’s age, and they’d be able to make friends a lot easier.

Jordan finds Maysin one day at a cafeteria, trying to get a meal, and being run off by the staff there. Jordan investigates and finds that since Maysin turned 18, their minor ID no longer is valid, and is being denied services. Jordan, of course, is furious, and after chewing out the cafeteria staff, they get Maysin’s ID up to date.

And because Maysin is now legally an adult, they have to join the Civil Service. Maysin takes them under their wing, and Maysin follows them around like a puppy.

I did an art vs artist over on Bluesky and almost posted it here, before I realized I could just put all of the pics here, and not just thumbnails.

I didn’t draw a lot in 2024, but I did make some really good stuff.

I've been playing a game of Orbital with the Salt Chat. This is my guy, Zürich, the Heart, who runs a venue where everyone is welcome as long as you behave, and where privacy is always respected above all. If it happens at Zürich's, it stays at Züruch's.

That philosophy is being tested, though, as people on the station are starting to disappear, people that came to him worried about things they've seen.

From our last session. One of the players went to a tree in the Forest on the space station to ask for advice, like an oracle, and it gave them bones. Bones and meat.

you know, like trees!

Oh, also a door appeared in his venue he’s never seen before, opening to a dark hallway filled with glowing runes. But Zürich has seen horror movies and noped right on out of that situation.
