A few of my favorite views of our Christmas country home here in Tennessee. Hope you have had a wonderful Christmas. When do you take your decor down? I start with taking down the Christmas tree first and will likely do that tomorrow. I like to get a good start for the new year instead of waiting too long. Merry Christmas 🎄 #christmasdecorations #christmashome #hometour #barndominium #christmas2024
Merry Christmas from our homes to yours. Come on in for a little Christmas tour. If you know me you know I love to host people and make others feel welcome. If I could I would have you all over to our home for a meal. Thank you for being here. I have appreciated every person in this community and even though it’s virtual I’ve met so many wonderful people right here. Looking forward to 2025! Merry Christmas. 🎄 #christmasdecorations #christmasdecorating #livingroom #tistheseason #hometour...
The final thrifted Christmas gift in our little series. This gift is for the baker. Found this vintage ironstone mixing bowl at the flea market. These blue measuring bowls, a vintage wooden rolling pin and these ceramic measuring spoons were found at the thrift store. Add in a new kitchen towel and a bag of flour with a lovely bow to finish off this gift. #thrifted #thriftedhome #kitchendecor #christmasgiftideas #thrifter #giftidea
Just a few days until Christmas and I have another thrifted Christmas gift for you! I found this lovely glass tea pot, cups and saucers at the thrift store along with this napkin basket. I Paired it with a new towel and a tin of tea for a perfect curated yet economical gift. When thrifting gifts it’s best to mix thrifted with something new such as this new towel and this lovely new tin of tea. Coffee lover? Swap out the tea for a bag of coffee instead. It’s been so nice seeing everyone’s Christmas decor this season. Here we are five days to Christmas and I can’t believe this holiday season is about to come to an end. When does everyone pack up their Christmas decor? Mine comes down the day after Christmas. I’m always ready to deep clean and get ready for the new year. #christmasdecorating #seasonaldecor #christmaswreath #holidaydecor
While we don’t often open the front large barn doors yes…they do open. We rebuilt these sliding barn doors after we moved in and I took the old barn door wood, ran it through a planer and my son and I built the wooden planters and stained them to match the doors The barndominium doors used to be painted red and the barn was not this charcoal black. It used to be chocolate brown with a red metal roof. We painted the barndominium ourselves, had the roof changed and then my husband and I rebui...

I know that thrifted Christmas gifts are controversial but mixing in new with old makes a lovely curated gift. For this thrifted hostess gift I have this gorgeous platter found for $1, a set of vintage brass candlesticks for $6, new candles and a set of new napkins found on clearance for $8 Comment ‘gift’ for similar sourced items How to thrift a gift: • consider who you are shopping for before going to the thrift store • find items that you know someone would use or enjoy • use new i...

I just love bells during the Christmas season. Comment ‘bell’ and I will send you the links for the bells, stockings, greenery and ribbon. ✨Last year I hung all these bells on our barn fireplace mantel and this year I liked it so much I decided to hang them again. This time I used a wooden dowel to string all the bells onto and then rested the wooden dowel on the mantle beams. To ensure it wouldn’t fall off we anchored the dowel with a small screw. ✨I’ve been collecting sets of these c...
I get asked a lot about certain items in our home but a lot of them are thrifted or found on FB Marketplace Comment ‘shop’ and I will send you the link to other items in our home or items that are similar to the thrifted pieces. Smaller items such as dishes, pictures, frames, candlesticks, etc are usually found at the thrift store while larger items such as mirrors or furniture are found on FB Marketplace I love a more minimal curated look to our home than what is considered fast furnitur...
Created these barn door wreaths from two scrap Christmas trees that I rather found in the side of the road. I clipped off all the branches and used a few branches from the trees in our yard too. They were pretty much free. I only paid for the velvet ribbon and it was on sale buy one get 3 free. So. These huge wreaths cost me less than $8. Can’t beat that. I love these large grapevine wreaths because I can reuse them for any season. Want to make your own wreaths using fresh greenery? G...

Get your brass all polished up for the holidays. If you want. Sometimes I like a good patina or aging on brass but other times I like to give it a good clean to make it shine. I found this vintage brass tray for $6 at the thrift store and it’s great on our coffee table. First ensure your piece is solid brass. If you try to clean a brass-plated item with one of these methods, you might rub off the plating and effectively ruin the piece. To determine whether it’s solid brass, try sticking a...
