Sometimes, sadly, we are not blessed with lovely large windows! But fear not, there is a trick to make them look bigger!! 🪟✨👀

Blinds usually hang just above the window, partially covering the top. But if you hang it a little bit higher and make sure the open blind covers as little of the window as possible, it makes your window appear taller ⬆️

The same applies for pelmets - if you hang them high, with the bottom of the pelmet just touching the top of the window, as @ritakonig has done here, you can make your window seem larger, especially when there are curtains either side.

Well, it’s more a visual guide of how we put it together rather than a full tutorial, because the measurements will depend on the size of the bed, and not everyone will have a 6ft bed like Fred’s. I’m assuming a basic knowledge of curtain making, because Instagram isn’t the platform for that, and you can find in-depth videos for most things on YouTube. The single most important thing is to choose a good weight fabric that falls beautifully, like this linen from @warnerhouse_1870 that we used, as anything too lightweight, or too crisp just won’t hang right. The next most important thing to get right is the proportion of pelmet length to drape length - the ratio is 1:6.
