Two years ago I posted this video on TikTok and had a lot of really great opportunities come out of it. Turns out a lot of people don’t know how to stimulate a bowel movement. 

I literally have ideas and techniques for days, partially because of my job and partially because people with hEDS usually have low bowel motility, so I’ve had to figure things out over the years. 

Not always, but very often my patients find success when I show them these moves and more.

I love cold water for hydration but warm water for soothing my GI tract. Warm water, like the ones used in teas and coffee, can be very beneficial:

1. When taken in the morning before breakfast, it can help stimulate bowel movements and relieve constipation.
