There is a small muscle that connects the shoulder blade to the neck, and can be really problematic if it gets overactive and tight.
—
It’s called the Levator Scapulae and it is a common source of neck pain and shoulder blade movement problems.
—
This muscle helps you elevate your shoulder blade, and bend your neck to the side, but can limit your ability to lift your arm overhead optimally if it’s restricted.
—
To begin fixing this issue I recommend doing this active Levator Scapulae release technique with a lacrosse ball to decrease the tonicity and tightness of this muscle.
—
Then we need to actively reinforce this new position by training Scapula Pain, Neck Muscle Pain, Shoulder Blade Muscles, Neck Muscle Anatomy, Levator Scapulae, Neck Spasms, Neck And Shoulder Stretches, Muscles Of The Neck, Shoulder Rehab
