Celebrating three magical years with Mae!

For Mae's fairy themed birthday, I created giant bluebell flowers made with painted newspaper. I placed them around our backyard to make everything feel fairy sized.

I made fairy houses out of cardboard, leaving the roofs open so they could hold pots of flowers. They made beautiful centerpieces for the table that could also be played with!

Playing in the kitchen is Mae's favorite right now, so I transformed our playhouse into a fairy kitchen for the party. I filled the shelves with real kitchen tools, spices, and potion bottles. The kids had so much fun mixing up fairy potions!

A friend suggested this sculpting technique and I was excited to try it out with Rosie! She had fun molding the tin foil and really liked painting the finished product!

To make these mushrooms, we shaped tin foil into a small bowl-shape for the top and a cylinder for the bottom. Then, we covered the tin foil shapes with masking tape, painted them, and used hot glue to attach the parts together. We set up a little fairy garden with these mushrooms and some pumpkins 😊

I went the quick route as my table space is precious and I needed it for baking. 🦃🥧🍰 Also, someone recently told me that mushrooms are the new pineapple and I can’t unhear that 😆 Not sure what I’m gonna do when no one cares about them anymore. I feel like they’ve been a part of my identity for years now 🫠🍄 Gotta credit the nature homeschooling community for that one. Oh, and @tanglewood_hollow / @therootedfolk for this specific acorn cap idea from years ago! Want to make your version biodegradable? Use this glue: (Makes one cup) 1 1⁄2 cups (350 ml) water 2 tablespoons of corn syrup or honey 1 teaspoon (4.9 ml) of vinegar 2 tablespoons (15 g) of cornstarch 1. In a saucepan, stir together 3/4 C (180ml) water, syrup, and vinegar and bring to a boil. 2. Combine the cornstarch and remaining 3/4 C of water and then whisk into mixture. Return to a boil and continue cooking for 1 minute. 3. Remove from heat and allow to cool. Store in airtight container. Best used fresh, but it will last a long time if kept in a cool place. Ihr kennt sie, meine mit Hanfband umwickelten Haarreifen, die ich seit Jahren in allen Variationen gestaltet habe…
Begonnen mit dem Muschelhaarreif zum 3. Geburtstag meiner Großen, die jetzt schon in die Schule geht, gefolgt von den von euch sehr geliebten Hasenohren (die ich mittlerweile sogar schon in Bastelbüchern anderer Blogger gesehen habe), Einhornhaarreife und der von mir sehr geliebte Bambihaarreif mit dem Geweih aus Draht, auch umwickelt mit Hanfband. Alle aus meiner Hand und sehr von mir geliebt. 🧡

Jetzt mussten die von mir unendlich geliebten Fliegenpilze auf einen der Haarreife und was soll ich sagen, mein absoluter Favorit. Die Mädels sehen damit wie kleine Waldfeen aus - so magisch. ✨✨✨✨✨
