We were commissioned to extend and make internal alterations to this Grade I listed Georgian house overlooking Regent’s Park. The historic fabric was repaired and refurbished to allow the introduction of contemporary facilities and a new, fully glazed extension. One of the key challenges was to negotiate with the conservation officer and English Heritage in order to modernise the property without compromising historic integrity.

Purcell was commissioned to convert a group of brick and timber frame farm buildings in the South East to provide residential accommodation for a gamekeeper and his family and a shooting lodge; a dining room and cooking facilities for shooting parties. The house is classed as a Grade 3 historic building. It was completed in 1931 as the home of barrister and public figure William Thomas Tam and his wife Jessie.
