Meet Deepika Jangra, a structural and architectural engineering lead and global response engineering manager based in our Gurugram, India office. Deepika has built a reputation as a strong leader who listens and supports her team in the best ways possible. She believes in building a diverse workforce with a variety of perspectives and experiences to ensure everyone feels comfortable at work. Her colleagues say that she is an inspirational leader and refer to her as “superwoman,” admiring her ability to stand up and advocate for others. Our next feature under our #HatchBuildsProjects series takes us to Gahcho Kué, one of Canada’s largest diamond mines and the world’s first new diamond mine in 15 years at the time 💎     To build Gahcho Kué we had to navigate several significant challenges: no local or regional infrastructure, no access roads, no traversable shipping routes or ports, no airstrip, and no external utilities.      Despite these obstacles, we delivered comprehensive EPCM and technical services for the project, constructing a progressive mine capable of excavating rough diamonds from kimberlite deposits beneath Kennedy Lake.      Discover more of Gahcho Kué: https://lnkd.in/gKNYpb4u    #HatchBuildsProjects #EngineeringExcellence #CapitalProjects #GahchoKue #Mining #EPCM

The first of its kind in North America, Nemaska Lithium's conversion facility will produce premium lithium hydroxide—a critical component in the manufacturing of lithium-ion batteries. Nemaska is leading the charge in North America—constructing the first large-scale mine, concentrator, and spodumene-to-lithium hydroxide refinery with a capacity of 32,000 tonnes per annum of final product.  Our team has been involved with this project from the very start, beginning with the order of magnitude, prefeasibility, and feasibility studies. Now in construction with ramp up expected in 2026, we are playing a key role as their sole EPCM provider. We were a major sponsor of the recent Canada-Africa Business Conference held in Harare, Zimbabwe, recently. The two-day program convened leading decision-makers to accelerate Canada-Africa trade and investment, through a world-networking and information-sharing event. Joe H. Lombard, Vice Chairman at Hatch, was invited to deliver a private sector keynote address which focused on strengthening Canada-Africa partnerships. Our very own Welekazi Cele, Regional Director of Mining and Metals, chaired a panel discussion on Natural Resource Development: A Catalyst for Growth; and Peter Viljoen, Regional Director: Energy at Hatch chaired the panel on Champions of Private Sector Growth: The roles of Energy & Infrastructure.
