GROW magazine table of contents!
I like the use of lines coming off of the word content, but I don't like that contents is broken up. When people are designing something they are usually taught not to have a hyphenated word, especially if it's the title. I like the pictures within the word table of content. It looks like they used a clipping mask to make that.
46 Creative Magazine Spread Design Layout Ideas For Your Page
This is a unique table of contents. There is a lot of white negative space, but I think it works in this case. I like the pictures and I like that the article/information is coming out of the pictures vertically/slanted. I think this is an interesting way to present a table of contents. I think it was a good idea to make the article titles in red.
bestdesignoptions.com
This is definitely a different design for a table of contents. I like how some of the page numbers and words are turned vertically instead of horizontally. It gives the page movement. I also like the red bars pointing to the pictures.
June Issue 2010 Surfing Magazine
I like how the featured articles section is on one side and the departments are on the other side. I like the picture strip. Usually centered designs are frowned upon. I want it to be off center, but I don't know how that would work. Other than that I like this table of content. It's good that they repeated the blue and green throughout their pictures and words.
Dwell Magazine, Table of Contents
I really like both of these layouts, but my favorite one is on the right. I really like the pictures to one side with the page number and the article/information below it. I also like that the title of the magazine is at the top and the issue is at the bottom. I think they did a really good job of using all of the space effectively. They have a lot of information and pictures, but they did a good job on keeping it organized. I really like the light blue background too.
I'm not a big fan of this table of contents. It's hard to read and not very exciting. It looks very dull. I'm not sure what magazine this is. They might have designed it this way because of the theme of the magazine.

Table of contents: Oracle Magazine Table Of Contents

I like how the page is perfectly aligned straight. I like that the pictures are off centered. I like when pictures have a page number next to them because it makes it easier to find in the magazine. I also like the orange highlights on the title of each article.
Autism Parenting Magazine Launched On Newstand - Aspergers Test Site
This is a simple layout, but I think it works considering that it's a autism magazine. I like the pictures with page numbers on the left and the title on the right. I also like the blue titles. It is also very easy to read.
I don't like this table of contents at all. It is very hard to read the text because of the drop shadow behind it. They should get rid of all the drop shadows. I think this table of contents page is a little boring. I love the color pink, but I don't think it works here. The only reason I can think of that they chose pink is because of their magazine's theme or color scheme.
Best Magazine Design Finalists
This is a very interesting table of contents. I think it fits the theme of the magazine. I like that the face is made up of different faces. It looks really neat. I think they did a good job laying out the departments/featured articles. I also like that they highlighted the title/important words.
ZARZAR MODELS
This is a bold and exciting table of contents page. It has a lot of movement to it. I like the 6 bars that are different colors. They have a colored bar for each of the departments and for the featured article. It seems a little busy, but it also seems organzied in a way. I think the background picture is distracting and it might be better if they took out the background picture and put in a solid/gradient color background.
PhNR 3.4 Hz Long / Short - ERG Coding Guide
The New York Times Magazine | Table of Contents (cont.) | Designed by Studio 8 (3 of 8)
I like this table of content page. It is simple and elegant. I usually like things in color, but I think this works well in black and white. I think the picture of the tree works well and the branches lead the viewers eye to the information. I also like the page numbers next to the information/article. I'm not sure how I feel on "contents" being in the center of the page. It might make the design a little more interesting if they had it to the right or to the left.
