I think it can be really scary to wash them because they’re so expensive, and it’s totally possible to ruin them, BUT if you use the right products and have some patience, you’re going to be just fine! Here are the steps: • CLEAN STAINS: make sure you scrub any stains ahead of washing with the @nikwaxna down wash (the same wash for the first cycle). Also do a once over for any holes and patch them! • 1ST WASH: if you have a top loader, zip all of the pockets and place the jacket in a mesh bag or toss a towel over the agitator. Wash the jacket with @nikwax Down Wash (the bottle will tell you measurements) on a delicate cycle on medium/low temps. • 2ND WASH: waterproofing. Use @nikwax Down Proof to give the jacket a water repellancy. Same temps and wash type. DRY: dry on low heat with a few tennis or wool balls to get rid of the clumps of down. This will take quite a few cycles, and you’ll know it’s done when it’s puffy again and the clumps are gone! (This isn’t an ad, but Nikwax products are what we use for all of our gear care, they’re environmentally friendly, and they make gear last WAY longer) Let us know if you have any questions or if there are other gear care videos you’ve been needing! #backpacking #campinggear #backpackinggear #hikersofinstagram #campinglife | Zoe & Kelby Jecker | Adventure Lovers | Surf Curse · Disco

(this is not an ad, we loooove these and needed to share!) Knorr makes pasta and rice meals that are dehydrated and so lightweight to bring backpacking! All they need is some boiling water and they’re ready to eat. Here are some combos we love: Knorr Alfredo pasta @epicbar bacon bars but up Knorr taco rice @rollingreens taco meat (it’s plant based!!) Tortillas Hot sauce Knorr Spanish rice Chicken or tuna Knorr garlic shells Chicken or tuna Knorr creamy pesto Chicken Honestly there are so many good combos you can make with these. You could eat them on their own, or add some protein to add calories and nutrients! We love how cheap and easy these make backpacking and definitely recommend you try them for your next trip! #backpacking #hikersofinstagram #campinglife #hikinggear #camping | Zoe & Kelby Jecker | Adventure Lovers | Surf Curse · Disco
