Art Painting Idea | Using Color in gouache landscape painting
I do a painting almost every day, but I don’t always have an idea of what to paint when I start. Here’s a video showing the process I use when I’m not feeling particularly inspired! Starting with a loose and watery gradient serves two purposes - it gets rid of the intimidating white page and it also creates an organic looking background from which a landscape can be pulled from. Edges where the two colors come together always look like distant tree lines to me! This definitely is a technique that takes some practice - but the more you do it the easier it gets! I’ve tagged the products I’m using for your own reference. Acryla gouache would also work for the initial color layer, since it does not reactivate with water!
