This simple science experiment is so amazingly cool! 😎

I love that you only need a few things to do it too. But it can be a little tricky to get the letters into the water without breaking. You may need to try a few times. You can also draw anything as this technique works for all drawings!

Here’s what you need:

 - Dry Erase Marker - we tested the Ikea brand and the EXPO brand. Your dry erase marker must NOT be washable or it won’t work

- A metal spoon 🥄

- A bowl with water 💦

How to do it:

- Draw the letter on the spoon. Make sure all of the letter elements are touching so it stays together. Press a bit harder to transfer lots of ink.

- Slo Quest Ideas, Floating Letters, Fun Ideas For Kids, Babysitting Ideas, All Drawings, Simple Science, Draw Anything, Easy Science Experiments, Into The Water

Agnes | Toddler Learning Activities on Instagram: "Floating letters 🔠 Have you tried this fun STEM science experiment? ♥️ Fill a bowl with water 🧡 Use dry erase markers to draw on the back of a spoon. We're using a ceramic soup spoon but this should also work on a metal spoon 💛 Slowly lower into the water 💚 Watch your drawing slide into the water and float! 💙 Use a pen to move the letters around to spell words 💜 Or use a spoon to scoop out the letters! Recommended age: 18months+ (younger toddlers can practice scooping and start working on color and letter recognition. Older preschoolers can work on spelling and forming words) Some tips to help: ❤️ Make sure your spoon is dry before drawing 🧡 Wipe the spoon after each time 💛 Press hard when drawing so you have a thick layer 💚 Draw Floating Letters, Spell Words, Water Experiments, Water Watch, Expo Marker, Pre Writing Activities, Vbs Ideas, Whiteboard Marker, Preschool Letters
