Last night, I filled out an application for the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory Summer 2020 Research Opportunity. Though the name in the photo is a bit misleading, after reading the description of the program I realized that instead of an internship with NASA, I would be participating in real-time astrophysics research with seasoned NASA scientists. Considering I want to be a theoretical astrophysicist in the future, I believe this opportunity will be incredibly helpful to me.

Schelin Ireland, a University of Hawaii student, has a passion for space and will see her work take off for the Red Planet next year.
