Core & Pelvic Floor | Physical Therapist & Yoga on Instagram: "You need to start doing this if you’re tired of leaks…

Have you been told you just need to do more kegels? You just have a weak pelvic floor? It happens with aging? 😡

We’ve been so conditioned to think “I’m leaking when I sneeze or jump because I have a weak pelvic floor and I need to strengthening and all will be ok.”

Can you relate? 🙋‍♀️

But it’s really about learning how to use your core & pelvic floor system. Focusing on whole body movements, your breathing, and posture because this is what we do during our days.

Squeezing and doing kegels is not a functional move. I’ve heard so many times that kegels have not helped or made my clients symptoms worse.

There are so many connections to the pelvic floor like:

Anabelen Aranton on Instagram: "You sneeze is called Stress Incontinence and strengthening your pelvic floor will prevent you from leaking. 💦

1️⃣First of all, a tight pelvic floor Is not the same as a strong one.

2️⃣"Latchkey bladder" is one nickname for Urge Incontinence (that feeling when you put the key in the door and suddenly you are hopping up and down, not knowing if you will make it on time). This is a common symptom of a tight pelvic floor (remember, tightness = weakness). 🚪🏃‍♀️

3️⃣There is a strong correlation between low back pain and pelvic floor dysfunction. When there is instability and/or tightness in the pelvis, there is instability in the lower part of the spine also.

4️⃣UTIs cause the pelvic floor muscles to tighten or "guard" in response to pain. With repeated U Tight Pelvic Floor, Painful Bladder Syndrome, Pelvic Floor Dysfunction, Pelvic Floor Exercises, Floor Exercises, Strengthen Core, Pelvic Floor Muscles, After Workout, Low Back Pain
