Classroom Library Organization
Check out the various ways to organize your classroom library to encourage the love of reading in your students. However you set up your library, try to have some type of organizational structure to it instead of just a mass of books shoved on a shelf. There is no way anyone is going to find a love of reading in your room if you don't give your library any love.

Consistently Teach Idioms Throughout the Year ; Opens a new tab
I think idioms are taught best in little bits throughout the year. Teachers should take the time to do an idiom of the day or idiom of the week. There are apparently an estimated 25,000 different idioms used in the English language! Breaking down idioms into manageable, yet consistent bits helps readers to increase their understanding of language as a whole, increasing their competency as speakers, readers and writers in general.
