This manuscript will detail and examine House Bill 538, 911 Good Samaritan Law of the Missouri co... more This manuscript will detail and examine House Bill 538, 911 Good Samaritan Law of the Missouri constitution and weigh the effectiveness, efficiency, values and ethical considerations of this bill, and explore the changes and recommendations made by the amendment by expanding the use and distribution of opiate antagonist drugs such as Naloxone, to people at risk of experiencing or witnessing a opiate related overdose and providing immunity from prosecution to the caller and or administering citizen. The recommendations found in house bill 538 include, allowing health care professionals to prescribe Naloxone to citizens, allowing citizens prescribed to carry and administer the opioid antagonist when appropriate with out legal repercussions and giving immunity to citizens reporting drug overdose.
