about the site
cervidaze is hand-coded by me—with immense, immense amounts of help from designers much more experienced and tenacious than me. the site name is a reference to the family taxonomy for deer, cervidae. please feel free to inspect my code to see how i scrapped everything together if something interests you.
tools/assets
i use visual studio code to code my site and then manually deploy it to neocities.
the header font is mondwest, and the body font is pixel operator. i use coolors to select my site's color palettes. the site buttons are hand-drawn by me. i try to include the source of my graphics in the file names whenever possible.

accessibility
my goal is to make cervidaze as comfortable as possible to browse, no matter what device it's pulled from. i am someone particularly sensitive to suddenly loud and flashing stimuli, and i would never want to replicate the same hostile experiences in my own space.
my site will always be a work in progress, but this is what i have implemented so far:
- mobile responsiveness
- properly contrasted site colors
- semantic html tagging
- dark mode toggle
- alt text for relevant images
- absolutely no auto-playing videos or audio and no flashing images
- static and slowly animated versions of my site button
