Mistinguett headlining the Paris Qui Brille (Shining Paris) Revue poster from 1931. Mistinguett was most likely the first performer to have her legs insured and in 1919 did so for 500,000 Francs. Her following was huge and she was the most recognizable woman in France in the first half of the 20th Century, adored by millions of both men and women.She performed on stage and in films for 60 years. Her birth name was Jeanne-Marie Bourgeois.
