456K views · 16K reactions | Have you made vanilla extract before? Yet another “thing” that I thought was hard so I never attempted it! It couldn’t be easier! 🌿Buy high quality organic vanilla beans. I bought mine from Amazon. DM me and I’ll send you the link! It’s gone viral so I can no longer respond to all the comments. 🥴 🌿In contrast, buy the cheapest Vodka you can find! 🌿Split your beans so the yummy vanilla beans can escape during the soaking. 🌿Cover the beans with the vodka and let them sit for 6 months. Give it a shake every week or so. I used 4oz of vanilla beans to 1.75 liter of vodka. Filled a 64oz mason jar. You will never taste this kind of quality from a store bought vanilla! (It’s the extra love in the jar ❤️!) The fun thing is it gets LESS expensive as you go! If you’re making it for yourself, every time you take 8oz of extract out of the jar add 8oz more of vodka and your vanilla keeps on going! You don’t have to add fresh beans to your mixture for a couple of YEARS! Just remember to keep those beans under the alcohol. #diyvanillaextract #kitchentips #vanillaextract #homebaker #vanillaextractrecipe | Debbie & Derek Peris • Coffee Roaster • Coffee Educator | Twisterium · Wonderful Day

Extracts add so much flavor to your cooking and baked goods, and with only 2 ingredients, they’re too easy not to make! When I was buying all these @titosvodka bottles (which by the way are the perfect size for any extracts you are making) the cashier thought I was pulling their leg that they were for making extract, but in fact this is all you need for delicious flavor enhancers. I prefer these 200ml Tito’s bottle bc it’s one less thing you have to clean or measure, they’re the perfect size for extracts and I mean, who doesn’t love Tito’s?! Almond Extract – Chop 1/2 cup of raw almonds (must be peeled or your extract will be bitter) and add to your 200ml of vodka. Orange Extract – Peel the rind of one orange and place the orange strips and add to your 200ml of vodka. Lemon Extract – Peel the rind of one large lemon and place the lemon strips into your 200ml of vodka. Cinnamon Extract – Place 4 sticks of cinnamon and add to your 200ml of vodka. Vanilla Extract – Place 4-6 vanilla beans, sliced to expose the bean caviar, and add to your 200ml of vodka. *See former reel for further details on Vanilla Extract. Cover and store in a dark place for 6 - 8 weeks, and give it a shake whenever you remember. NOTE: Make sure to remove some of the vodka before filling the bottle with your ingredients so it doesn’t overflow. The longer they sit, the stronger the flavor will be and you will start to see the vodka change colors. Next up will have to be mint and of course anise for all those amazing Italian cookie recipes 🤤 What other flavors would you add to your pantry? #vanillaextract #homemadeextracts #homemade #baking #cookingathome #almondextract #bakingfun #bakingfromscratch #homemaker #cleanliving #2ingredients #simplerecipies #flavors | Laura | Homesteading & Lifestyle | Morgan Wallen · Spin You Around (1/24)

Making your own vanilla is one of the SIMPLEST kitchen projects… it does take time to steep and become vanilla extract, but you’ll never go back to the tiny (and EXPENSIVE) store bought bottles! I get my vodka (must be 80 proof) and bourbon from Costco… both make delicious vanilla! You just need to split your vanilla beans lengthwise, then put 1oz of vanilla beans per 8oz of alcohol. (I like to add a few extra though🤭) Let it sit in a cool dark place for 6 months to 1 year and you’ll have the most AMAZING vanilla extract! If stored correctly (in an air tight jar, cool dark place) this will store indefinitely. Start it now and it’ll be ready for your holiday baking!😉 #vanilla #homemadevanilla #vanillaextract #homestead #selfsufficient #homesteading #homesteadlife | Abbie Flake | theflakehomestead · Original audio
